All right, the new frequency table is:

700, 706, 713, 719, 725, 731, 738, 744, 750, 756, 763, 769, 775, 781, 788, 794, 800, 813, 825, 838, 850, 863, 875, 888, 900, 913, 925, 938, 950, 963, 975, 988, 1000, 1013, 1025, 1038, 1050, 1063, 1075, 1088, 1100, 1113, 1125, 1138, 1150, 1163, 1175, 1188, 1200

Would someone kindly provide me with a compiled version for the raspi? Even better would be a complete image... I grew up using dos and windows... but I'm not good @ linux :-/

+1 for a running raspi version

I just cloned, configured and compiled the version on my raspi but it won't work with scripta.

Anyway. Some people were talking about the raspi version with scripta getting stuck over night. Even with the changed line someone supplied it crashed overnight. I found a donation cron job running every night for a short time. Just deleted that thing and the raspi works very fine now...
But would love to implement the latest frequency setup.

Best Regards

Ah I know what the problem is.. I removed everything under 800Mhz since our units were fine over that. I'll put the 700..800Mhz range back an send you a PM when it's done.

Again, a day late and a buck short!  You beat me to it!!! Grin

If anyone interested I've modified Andareed's version of cgminer a bit to let you better finetune the gridseed units. There's a big variance in the resistors they used as voltage references so every unit has a different maximum frequency they can run at.

https://github.com/girnyau/cgminer-gc3355

New frequency table: 800, 813, 825, 838, 850, 863, 875, 888, 900, 913, 925, 938, 950, 963, 975, 988, 1000, 1013, 1025, 1038, 1050, 1063, 1075, 1088, 1100, 1113, 1125, 1138, 1150, 1163, 1175, 1188, 1200

You won't need the ghz ones however unless highly overvolted Smiley

You can also define a base frequency as usual, then set per device frequencies by the units' serial number if you want:

--gridseed-options freq=888 --gridseed-freq 8D74488A4949=900,8D96227B5449=900,8D7357785355=875

Factory units running since ~48 hours without any hw mods but the fans desoldered:

Strange. Did you have you hotplug setting set to 10 and wait 10-20 seconds for it to come back? It doesn't happen right away.

Also, the Gridseed miner will NOT disappear from device manager when disabled. It just shows as disabled (downward pointing arrow, I think).

You 5m cable could also be the problem, just replace it and try again. Easy to find out.

Sorry no hotplug is set to 0 in the bat file I use to start cgminer. I'll change it to 10 and try your bat file again next time it fails.

Update: ran again using hotplug 10, but still the same problem when it failed, had to physically replug the USB again.

I've switched back to a 1m USB cable (from 5m) and the bat file worked! No need to physically replug the USB this time. I'm hoping Gridseed will behave now its back to the short cable, but if not, at least I can RDP in and reset it remotely now. Smiley  Thanks volder!
Excellent news. Glad to help.

Hi Quick q: Is v2.0.2.zip still the recommended firmware to use?

Where can I download this?

Edit: you mean the wiibox or LightningASIC firmware? Wiibox is up to 2.0.7, but it changes your SHH password after 2.0.3.

Why is it reporting lower hashrate? It shows and accepts shares. Can't figure that out...

Another crash this morning. Even rebooting the PC didn't bring Gridseed back to life! Only physically unplugging and replugging the USB cable got it working again. Sad

I know you guys dont want to hear this but I have been going 48 hours straight with no issues,

PC running 50 instances of CPUminer, high end USB hubs (Orico type) with 50 Gridseed units.

I can't answer your question but am curious about your configuration.  I cannot get my gridseed 5 chip to run either dual or single without it crashing the Pi within 30 minutes.  I've tried various compiles and what knot but no luck.  I'm also headless so I can't see if there are any console errors.  It works perfect in windows but the noise is too much for me to leave running in my room.  Any information on your setup would be great.   I used to have the Pi connected to two hubs with antminers.  Now I just have the Pi connected directly to the Gridseed. Still crashes.

Another forum member told me about this, but what I did was:

Download minepeon 0.2.4.6 the newest version, then image onto a SD CARD - ( figured this be the easiest, since it already has all the dependencies installed)

then download the already compiled version of BFGMiner, and move the bfgminer binary and replace it in /opt/minepeon/bin/ . Then either sudo nano the miner.conf file or go to the browser and type in your minepeon IP ADDRESS and edit the start config there, with:

Code:
#!/bin/bash
sleep 10
/usr/bin/screen -dmS miner sudo /opt/minepeon/bin/bfgminer --scrypt -S gridseed:all --set-device gridseed:clock=850 -c /opt/minepeon/etc/miner.conf

and you should be good to go

EDIT: check out this thread, step by step:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=168174.3000;topicseen

Thanks I'll give it a go tomorrow.  I already have the latest minepeon so it's a matter of getting everything else set up.
