I agreed with your definition of what investment is. To add to your definition we can also called it an Assets since there is probable of future inflow of economic benefits. Many who are investing or buying bitcoin today are buying it with mind to realize profits in the near future.

I think you're right, at the moment. We shouldn't forget that the main goal of bitcoin anyway is another one, it's supposed to change to way we think about what money is forever, so it's much deeper than an investment. Yes.Bitcoin is a big investment.It has a lot of benefits when you invest in bitcoin.It can make you rich if you know how to manage it.Try investing in bitcoin and your life will never be the same again.
What is there to manage even? When you invest in bitcoin, you just hold your coin. You simply buy it then wait for the price to increase. It's not like you have the ability to increase the price. The only thing that managing is going to be involved is when you're making your wallet secure. You have to make sure that even after years, your bitcoin will still be there.Your life will never be the same again only if bitcoin tenfolds again which is quite unlikely to happen in just months. It will require a long time for bitcoin to change your life unless you're trading, riding the highs and lows, and doing great at it. The idea of the mass is that you have to invest in bitcoin in order to make money from it. It's one of the reasons why people sees it as an MLM scam. They think you need to have money when you're entering it.
But as you can see now, the price of bitcoin is only 1/3 of its ATH. Those who invested before this point has their lives changed. Only with negative profit.

Well yes, you can say bitcoin is an investment if you think it is. But bitcoin is not a common investment.

Please tell them. I just believe some people are not just honest with themselves let alone others. They keep lying that their main interest in Bitcoin is because they want to use it as just currency whereas they are actually looking to make profit investing in it.

I myself use btc more as an exchange tool instead of an investment instrument, because in my opinion btc itself has very difficult price fluctuations that are not suitable for me who prefer safety investments, it is legitimate if you want to consider btc as an investment instrument or currency, return to individuals
Oh yes it is an investment. Like stocks, bitcoin is considered an investment if you are into trading it and why would you even have bitcoins if you won't trade it, right? You buy it when the price is low and sell it when the price is high so that you will get ROIs. It works pretty much like the foreign exchange also. Say you have a few dollars at hand and you will wait until the price of dollars raise so you can exchange/sell it so yes, it's an investment.
