Use Coinbase Account almosanywhere with Shift card
May 20, 2016, 07:21:58 PM

...

I have had trouble trying to figure out how to:

1) Buy BTC with my current (normal bank) debit card.  I do use circle.com to buy BTC w/ my debit card, but the limit is low.

2) Get a debit card with BTC.  Reason: I would like to be able to have access to more funds when I travel "just in case".

What good options are there for US citizens/residents for the above?

For US customers, Coinbase allows you to add and charge a Visa or MasterCard debit card directly when buying bitcoin from your Coinbase account. Bitcoin purchased in this way will be credited to your account instantly, without having to wait for a bank transfer to complete.

you do need to give photo id

and I use shift card as a visa debit card linked to a coinbase account.

Are there any virtual cards that are trusted and work with U.S. paypal? I tried to load my spectrocoin debit card, but I get the email too late. Never mind, I got the card loaded.

The bit-x card is so much better and also so easy to use, although the physical card is pretty pricey if you ask me.
I would like the bit-x for their fee's but that is the only thing I use them.

The only one I also use is the bit-x card because I use more services at them so that is also why and I also got a physical card from them, the fees are okay not good but also not bad if you buy stuff.

I also like bit-x because they are pretty okay and also very secure with everything, I really love them.
I already used the card multiple times for a couple transactions online.

I also like bit-x because they have lower fee's than some other company's that are offering this service also.
The only downside is that the physical card is pretty expensive.
The fees aren't really that low for the anonymous Coinsbank cards but it's better if for verified cards. Generally, several cards have better POS fees but not much for anonymity.

Nice to have a spreadsheet of this, I'm adding a link to the OP Smiley. If you want to make it more detailed I think it'd be more better to make one entry for each card. Some companies like coinsbank offer several cards, each with its own fee structures.

Good idea maybe a list with links to card and FAQ on first tab then a tab for each card.

if anyone wants be able to edit this sheet PM me with a email address and I'll add you to the edit list.

1. add extra depost/withdrawal methods as BTC-e code, personal banks debit cards, etc
2. withdrawal limits
2. exchange rate is it official or lower

Added.

trying to find out this info w/o registering with the site is not straight forward. But the more we can gather and post the more useful the page will be.

What info do we want added to it.  Some of the sites you cannot get much info w/o registering.

From link you can comment.  I can update from comments.  I can try allowing edits but I might mean anyone can come in a mess it up.

There is a big difference in how useful a card is based on if USA or EUR.

Many like Bit-x have limited amounts/types that can be sent to the USA.

While Shift is easier for USA but not so good outside it.

I used up a Bit-x and have another unloaded. I use my shift card at least weekly.

The bit-x card is okay but what I hate is that they are pretty high with their fee's if you ask me and that is why I do not use them.
I think they are okay like you said but that is also because the other services they are using.

I myself use the bit-x card and I love it, a lot of people are already using this debit card but it also has some nice normal fee's.
Plus its trusted and very easy for as a example on aliexpress.

BitPay lanched a card for worldwide use.

It's not , when I try to order it it says :

Currently the BitPay Card is only available in the United States. If you’d like, we can notify you when it becomes available in your area. Please provide your contact information below.
hmm, you're right. Although their marketing says it can be used on all terminals accepting credit cards worldwide, but the card itself is only available to Americans from what it seems.
