Maybe I will be interested one day when they get a little bit more reputation for running a good service, but for me it's really hard to trust a third party with holding my bitcoins.
You don't need to trust a third party with holding your bitcoins, just send some to your card wallet when you are going to make your purchases.
So going off of Sparkgap's comparison list, the only cards that would hold Bitcoin until purchase of a good/service or just simply withdrawing money from an ATM is Xapo or Bit-X. These kind of cards seem to me more beneficial to have because you wouldn't have to feel bad if you sold out to get a card and not enjoy the benefits of having Bitcoin in the first place. It just seems to me these cards are in a way a Bitcoin wallet that you can easily buy everyday goods with, with additional fees tacked on. Maybe I will be interested one day when they get a little bit more reputation for running a good service, but for me it's really hard to trust a third party with holding my bitcoins.

This picture is from the XAPO website. I am thinking about there card because I am now really happy with there wallet on IOS. This prices are not that bad in my eyes only the expired card maybe.
I haven't actually used any of them yet, but from my research after registering in a some of the providers, reading faqs, and experimenting with their platforms, here is my opinion on some of the particularities (whether pros or cons) of the best ones for my usage (for instance, I do not care about ID verification requirements):

I did not do much research on Xapo or Bit-X because I do not want a card which would expose me to all the volatility of BTC (as the convertion is at the moment of the transaction, I would not have the opportunity to choose a good moment for fiat purchase). I guess most of them would only charge the monthly fee if there is balance on your card (I know SatoshiTango says so). The other cards listed were all worse in one way or the other than the ones I listed above (mainly higher overall cost, especially loading and other fees, or high minimal loading).

- Bitcoins transfered to the card (automatic BTC-fiat conversion when loading card), probably have to wait blockchain confirmations
- Option to fund account in fiat using international wire transfer or local payment in some latin-american countries (through payment gateway, but probably with high fee or bad exchange rate)
- Balance can be transfered out of the card (I don't know if there is a fee) and into your account for conversion back to BTC

I think there are too many parties that are running scams (the polish banks f.e. who just block your card).
As a Virtual Bitcoin Card provider I chose E-Coin because of their low fees, a good support and ability to control/lock the exact converting BTC to fiat money price.
This is a good list and shows a lot that I have not heard of, it would be preety cool to see the fees and other info summarised but I understand it would be time consuming and would need constant updating, thanks for sharing.

That's a good idea. I find many suppliers but it is hard to see which services are reliable and which are.. less reliable.
