This user tries to exchange Merit:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/asapjoshyy-1048815

proof

I certainly agree that I got screwed out of an easy obtainable Legendary account by just some posts (I already have the activity I am only missing the post count) but thats no reason to abuse this system.

Are there any reasons why this account has not been added yet?

And has any of those users in the OP got a punishment for abusing the merit system?
This thread doesnt really serve any purpose if there are no consequences.

Is this a 20 merit point post??

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cryptocurrency-banks-needed-2816469

A newby user merited 20 points for this. Very suspicious IMO.

I think this happened by mistake. If you the merit history of the sender: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=5797 , it was send two times (10 each time). I mean there is strong possibility that second time he refreshed and gave those 10 merits again.

The Merit system is a good idea to control and improve the post quality of forum members but is easy to be abused and traded as an asset.
Merit trading is not recommended, I never advocate it. But have admins and mods ever thought the Merit limit was too high? It will be difficult to rank-up for local-forum members, or members whose community does not have a local-forum.

^The user already has negative for account farming so why wouldn't they be abusing it.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.21784123

^User has +50 and is looking to buy a hero member account

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/aliyagiz207-1001712

^Only posts in the not english boards, none of their opening topics have any +merit, I think they gave themselves merit then deleted the post

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-kore-tor-masternodes-browser-voip-aether-os-korephone-korebay-funded-2096416
^Does that message really deserve 41 merit?
Theymos just announced the new function about Merit points and he got a lot of sMerits so why not ? What is the point ?

The point is that it looks a bit fishy that someone has gained merits for fairly normal posts. Merits for posts that are very useful, helpful or good quality. Not post that other users probably have also made to a similar quality before (especially anything above 10 to give for a single post).

It does seem very quickly that people have started to abuse the system already.

Yes, merit is just new but it is already abused. Don't they read the purpose of merit? It has been explained well and many relevant posts about explaining what merit is in simple terms are just waiting to be read. They must understand the meaning of being fair. I hope everyone should abide about the merit system. Give warning to those suspected members who are abusing it. Thanks!

Is it not plausible that a global mod has alternate accounts?
It's possible but for a global mod to abuse the system in such a way, it would be highly improbable.

I do not see why they would perform such high-risk activities with their reputation on the line. And I hardly think they would need to do so: if you're at that point then certainly you have enough of a knowledge foundation to create high-quality posts to earn merit.

20 merit was given by grue, also known as a global moderator. You've failed at basic investigative work.

The post is decent, but I wouldn't have given it any merit points.

@marlboroza thanks for the detective work. I wouldn't know where to start on mETH addresses.
Follow this address https://etherscan.io/tokentxns?a=0x8a67e2c8b994b32d73fe24c85ddab3c88080c2e1
I see there are lots worldcore token transactions so worldcore bounty spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yd7bd94LuppHsBzoICGYJj3cEuf-eA8AoJPyhmvo45s/edit#gid=632761 will be just fine to begin with.

Thanks for the guidance but either I've misunderstood something or it's clean. I searched the spreadsheet for the source addresses to the TXs in the spreadsheet. Didn't find anything, not even the 2 original names.

Sorry, my mistake.

0x8a67e2c8b994b32d73fe24c85ddab3c88080c2e1 has been used in worldcore facebook bounty(not signature) https://prnt.sc/i8b5rz

Also account number 3 sent funds from this address 0x208BDEB66971f217B562a905c2eC7E640DB1c8d0  to accumulating address here https://etherscan.io/tx/0x852e8a873387f37c79d62f70182197c31d26651622b4d4cfc7b640038d70836f  found here https://prnt.sc/i8b7e8 in worldcore facebook bounty.

As for 0xaFA49103b15834D6bCF6ac5a2664b0c85e379b4E and account Ta.For I have found address in publication bounty spreadsheet.

Account number 4 sent hero tokens from this address 0x259a11956d1B4e1873c76B0b2fa59FFf5ce38fCA to accumulating address https://etherscan.io/tx/0x10bf89ac9ec7ee3f3277148a50421a2eafef14dbebd77874d6009e5c2e77df32  which I have found in hero bounty spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Sxr2_WdvWJTRTJvfjlNuGvqt-MMAZw6SrS5S1rI1f9E/edit#gid=1278843479 - http://prntscr.com/i8bcq3

You can see how he has signed up with his accounts one under one in hero bounty which is just another "coincidence".

As I mentioned before, https://etherscan.io/tokentxns?a=0x8a67e2c8b994b32d73fe24c85ddab3c88080c2e1 is address for token accumulation, track from where tokens came, check bounty spreadsheets and you will probably find more accounts and write nice post about it in known alts of any one  Wink

Suggestion to OP - Reputation is much better board for this because you can create self-moderated thread and delete all off topic replies and spam.
Also you should reserve first few spots just in case, redesign topic and make it more eyes-friendly, when linking to who sent merit it would be ok if you post user name near link or something like this theymos, also giving specific color(red for example theymos) to -ve rated users will spare some time for DT.

Or just keep it messy  Grin

All 4 merit point awarded to the same account for shitposts in spam megathreads.
Ridwan has this address on his profile 0x8A67E2C8b994B32d73fE24C85dDAb3C88080c2E1

Ta.Form has this address on his profile 0xaFA49103b15834D6bCF6ac5a2664b0c85e379b4E
http://prntscr.com/i862ce

Now, this address 0x8A67E2C8b994B32d73fE24C85dDAb3C88080c2E1 looks like accumulating address for ERC20 tokens which contains many transactions from various bounty campaigns.

Also, both accounts are participating in the same signature campaign https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bountybitcoin-atom-fork-11-2567797 which you can see in their profile page and this is transaction which connects Ta.Form with Ridwan: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x89fef0d4acae69385c3486903feb924bc813935cc0b289f0acd3234a46a2512d

I am sure if you look further that you will find more connected accounts Wink

^You give me merit I give you merit type of guy

It's a Joke ??

There is no point in hoarding sMerit; keeping it yourself does not benefit you

It's not really, they give me sMerit, I do.

I was given sMerit because I am active, very active, I have never been asked to send it to anyone and the opposite also. And I don't give it back to everyone, and I give it to people who haven't sent it to me because I like their ability to produce quality content, and pertinent translation.

Since 2013, I have had plenty of time to make friends here, some of whom are IRL. // little 2015 attracts by media speculation to be polite.

Not all my helps are visible in posts or on this forum.

Easy to take the list of the first ones and find them "flaw".

Not very rewarding of you. great investigator!

Just take me out of that list. It's no sense. I never ask to be in the stupid top XXX of sMerit

My first contribution to this thread: alexberezov (=account seller) conveniently went from 100 to 250 Merit on one day for these three posts:

As far as I know, bounty hunters have already received their rewards I think they really want to sell rewards, but we really want to buy, we need an exchange!
Sir, unfortunately I have no more access to my eidoo wallet, and I have no seed..
If there is no way to change eidoo address for bounty reward then please do not send me my reward.
Let my reward be distributed among other participants of the bounty. It's strange rules that you can not change a address.. so, I lose 15k$ in eidoo tokens Sad
This is not a loyality towards those who worked for you..
Dividends should be tomorrow, it will be slightly less than 100 dollars for 5000 coins
One of the posts is 20 days older than the rest, I don't think this was a coincidence.

The 3x50 Merits came from chixka000, NetFreak199 and blo8i (=Scammer).
My guess is that he used his 3 Hero-accounts to be able to rank up his Full Member to Sr. Member.

Credit where credit is due:
1. Mahirap left alexberezov red trust 6 days ago: "Using his/her alt accounts to send some merits to this account."

I will add also some users that abused the sMerit System. I'll edit this post once I also caught somebody abused it. We can find more at Altcoin Announcement Board and Bounty Programs. I see some of the facebook reports of the bounty program that has added a merit it was a pointless report.
