I would not say that ltc is a dead coin.  Quite a normal coin.  I certainly do not believe in strong growth of this coin, but the price is good.

Litecoin is coin nr.2, it for sure will not be nr.2 for long, but right now it is. IF you ask average BTC user, what other coins they know, most will say LTC. So it still have solid place. But everyone can see it from far that will not hold it for long. Same as XBT will not keep Nr.1 forever, but it is long long long way till there.

I don't agree with you. Litecoin has future, they make new partnerships. Charlie Lee actively participates in the life of the community.

I think that now panic will begin and people will start selling their LTC. And then the price will rise very high and those who was waiting will get a good profit. Guys, this is the market, this is a great game)

After 4 years we could say that Litecoin is not dead!
The price rose from $ 4 to $ 150 in four years, all time high was 330$!
Also new use of Litecoin such as Litepay  Cool.

Litecoin does not even deserve to be on the top 2, 3, neither 4 or 5, because it is a waste of time, the only purpose of litecoin is just to be the second option on the market, but to be honest, everyone prefers btc over ltc.
It will still be No. 2 for a while. It takes a lot for the coin to collide with LTC to No. 3 on the list.

Paypal has announced that their merchant is going to accept Bitcoin as payment and bring the encryption currency to 8 million potential merchant around the world. Now Litecoin may share this treatment through passing piggybacking Bitcoin.

it will probably never, ever need a block size increase. their blockchain is virtually empty in comparison to bitcoin and its capacity is four times higher right now.

It was not too far when I heard about Litecoin and people were asking if it can overtake Bitcoin. But now, no whisper at all. Really disappointing.

It cannot overtake bitcoin as it does not have much innovation. The LTC is also lower than Bitcoin Cash in the market cap.

It seems to me that Litecoin will not be able to die, because it is as popular as bitcoin or ethereum, so to say that this project has died I think it is not worth it to say so. Of course the project today is not a success, especially after some events.

I also think that ltc is a bad investment.  There are much better coins for investing money.

Of course this coin is very difficult to compete with a number of new very strong coins. I think the dominance of Litecoin will fall.

It will be alive until it have a community, which is support and using it. And if it price is going down, it isn't means it is dead. Maybe in future Litecoin will be have much higher price than right now.

It's the longest coin I've ever seen. Maybe it doesn't have a formal death, or it's just waiting for time to improve it, it's still the top 5 cryptocurrency.

Nope.... not among the top 5. The last time I checked, EOS has overtaken Litecoin in terms of market cap. So Litecoin is currently at the 6th position, with a market cap of $8.20 billion. It is still a great achievement after all these years of struggling.

litecoin is basically bitcoins only legitimate child . there is also some really curious math with litecoin. let's review. litecoin has 4x the supply of BTC. litecoin is mining 25 coins per block right now. litecoin is trading at $150. litecoin came out roughly 2-3 years after bitcoin. get in your delorean because we're going to look at bitcoin in 2015. in 2015 the block reward was 25 coins. in july 2016 it dropped to 12.5 which is where the runup started. by 2017 it was just an uptrend. in 2015 the average price of BTC was around 600 which is exactly 4x LTC. literally...if you missed out on bitcoin you have virtually the same tech in litecoin only better in some ways staring at you right now. people may slam charlie lee for selling most his holdings but consider this. he didn't want to have litecoin be his personal plaything. he didn't want a centralized coin, he wanted litecoin to stand on it's own. personally speaking LTC and ETH are two stories i really love.
