Now i see all. In every thread about Litecoin comes many adepts of this coin (which want only one thing - sell their "greatest" coin faster and with bigger profit). They can't in arguments and facts they just shout about "great and bright future" of dying Lite. Like in many others shitcoins before  Smiley

With segwit at the door (70.8 confirmed consensus) litecoin become more than relevant.

all those new features soon available, mixed with the sentiment of an instable network (in-time delivery / low fee / market issues)  that now is Bitcoin... I think Litecoin got a solid edge, and we're about to witness a solid uptrend to a two digit USD.

what do you think?

Dont see anything that will pump LTC  to two digits, when halving came it was good price and i was hopping to see it stay like that but yet again i droped down. Good price should be around 8$ at the moment. Even this segwith dont think it will boos price that high to see two digits, i dont say i dont want to see but dont see anything that will help LTC go this big.

I do not think so, with the current status of lite coin is already enough without try to implement SegWit. In this case my concern was actually aiming at the charlie lee is the brother of bobby lee.  Roll Eyes

Litecoin is not dead. Its development has not been jaw dropping but it has steadily been Litecoin. Litecoin is just it, not more.

I don't hold it, I don't invest in it but I accept that it is not dead and still has followers that are enthusiastic about it. It's nice that it's still around!

Litecoin is more or less stable around $4 with some good volatility that doesn't necessarily follows the Bitcoin price movements. Looks like there is no signs of a march towards complete devaluation, at least for now.

I don't know if they are dying or not, but they are good to trade
If everything is so wonderful why many people do not advise them to trade? Yes, the price is stable, but for how long? As for me, he has already outlived her.

That is true. Litecoin i hardy underestimate by price should be around 10-12$ per coin and to be stable one to but majority of chinese holder still dont want to push it to this price. It may be good to see this happening in 2 maybe 3 years but this can be even greater price considering that now btc is around 980 dollars. Think that this my estimated price is realistic in many factors, it will be same range as bitcoin mining, it will be more valued then now.

Dont know if this is good option or prediction but this coin wont die any time soon.

They might use that strategy of utilising LTC as a hedge against BTC failures. Whatever could happen there, maybe just by bad luck a meteorite destroying a mining location or one burning down by short circuits (seen picture of some burnt farm wreckage just where ... ah, on Gizmodo) and the like.
Hence the reluctance to pump it up now. Investment advise: If you buy 1 BTC, buy 1 additional LTC along with that. Store both.

If I understand you correctly, then you advise buy LTC for the future? Later this can be a good investment? Or I got it wrong? How many remember this coin, it has always been fairly stable. And only then learned that she dies ...

Litecoin has the same disadvantages as Bitcoin, so i don't think that it will be very popular. Also, Litecoin haven't some his own pros (like Ethereum with his smartcontracts and sidechains). And it's very bad for coin of future.

Actually smart contracts can be built on top of LTC just like it can be built on top of BTC. Feel free to read about rootstock if your interested. The advantage is that the base chain is not built on a turing complete platform and therefore a lot less can go wrong.

Here's one of the educational videos from the litecoin association on how sidechains work.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9_MakNlHDA

LTC is heading towards segwit adoption, the lightning network, safer smart contracts and sidechains. It will take time that's for sure; but, that's better than rushing into disaster after disaster like Ethereum seems to encounter.
It is good to see some progress in this, although it is more than evident that there are more alternatives and this is reflected in the popularity of this, however I suppose others alcoins suffer from the same kind of effect, so while some people think that LTC is dead, others consider it a good option to move, IMO while it have volume in the market and news like the one above it will remain stable, although the value may seem low, the miners have barely exceeded half of supply, perhaps that has been another factor that has influenced the fall in price, the miners selling to cover their operating expenses, maybe it would be interesting that someone else would post on here data as the number of nodes, network difficult, number of transactions etc.

Bla-bla-bla . It's obviously that Litecoin haven't any his own interesting technical issues and it's just try to steal others  ideas and technologies. His starting manifesto is : "Our coin strong for asic mining" (particularly Lite adepts said that this is main pros). Nothing more.

perhaps that has been another factor that has influenced the fall in price

LTC will be around for a while. It has plenty of holder and such. Don't see it being dead anytime soon either

This means a lot to me, recently I started to collect litecoins from couple faucets. Its going slowly and I already have couple litecoins, for some time I plan to have much more. Members here thinks that litecoin is underestimated, and that price can go up, thats why I started to collect litecoins also.
I`m optimistic about this coin, litecoin is here to stay I think, first coin behind bitcoin.

Yeah it's underestimated. I even think it's time to buy some litecoin. In two and a half year there'll be the halving and price will rocket Cheesy
Buy now, sell in 2 years. That's my investment plan.

For several years that Litecoin has been established in crypto currency and one of the pioneering altcoin I don't think LTC is dead, I still do believe this digital currency is the sleeping giant that can be consider, I know also even the price of LTC now is decreasing many of the community still buying because they know it will come up again to make the value increase again whether in months or years from now.

zk-SNARK thanks for the positive input on Litcoin [LTC]. Litecoin is one of the coins on this forum that actually have a developer that's been here since the days of Peercoin [PPC], Feathercoin [FTC], etc. Litecoin been here since October 7, 2011.

litecoin looks a bit dry but its the altcoin with the most focus on mainstream.
randoms say bitcoin is cryptogold litecoin is silver.
many random exchanges charge litecoin as only one altcoin.
its one of the most easy altcoin to get.

when the krypto monsterhype comes litecoin will blow up for sure.
i think people wont focus much on the software. they see a hyped coin on the top ten and just buy it.
thats how the broad mass think and ltc is in the top 5 since a long long time.
