Nope I don't think it's dead. It doesn't work like any local currency that authority can stop its use or declare as dead. As long as people use it, it can't be dead. Now it totally up to devs what they can do to increase its value and popularity.

There is absolutely, not one logical reason..not even one to even look at litecoin anymore.

You've been saying that since 2014.
maybe he was doing it, so that people come back to understand. Grin
but I am less convinced by it, although litecoin have a low price, but litecoin has been able to become one altcoin that have survived so far.

I may buy under 1usd thats the target... waiting until then

You could be waiting some time.  However if they do not adopt segwit and these latest developments it is probably time to leave. The community have moaned no updates for years.

Then again there is no reason that LTC can not adopt any tech it wants from other coins once it is proven and get the jump because of adoption.

I'm just sticking to my guns... after doing an analysis a few yrs ago i saw sub $1 as the target so if it comes I buy if it doesn't all good too!

I do not think that there is substantial growth as the main developer speaks negatively about his coin, and at the same time praising other coins.

I already managed to forget about the existence of this coin. The price of Litecoin and was not particularly high, as far as I know. And now she falls all the time. The good thing is that I had sometime sell it with profit.

In past months it was more evident a strong correlation between the prices of bitcoin and litecoin, but nowadays the price of bitcoin is detached from the current bitcoin price growth. This calm in volatile days is not a good signal for me, but unfortunately I did not sell my litecoins in the right time.

For long term perspective, LTC has been dumped from 0.05+ btc ATH to 0.003X btc, current price is only 7% of ATH price, definitely LTC dies slowly and no future, I have dumped all of my ltc above 0.02 btc. No more dream on ltc, it is worthless and the toy of Chinese miners.
Litecoin was pumped to .05 during a major bull run, likely in a past halving event and now it's back to being dirt cheap w/ segwit about to make it great again. I'm not saying back up the truck and go all in, but the upside at this point in terms of making more bitcoin in a future pump or spec drive based on segwit is a very possible scenario for litecoin holders. I'm usually bitcoin centric but I'm converting a small stake at these levels. Segwit has the potential to turn this .003 price back into .05 or higher, you do the math.

Litecoin has the same disadvantages as Bitcoin, so i don't think that it will be very popular. Also, Litecoin haven't some his own pros (like Ethereum with his smartcontracts and sidechains). And it's very bad for coin of future.

Actually smart contracts can be built on top of LTC just like it can be built on top of BTC. Feel free to read about rootstock if your interested. The advantage is that the base chain is not built on a turing complete platform and therefore a lot less can go wrong.

Here's one of the educational videos from the litecoin association on how sidechains work.

LTC is heading towards segwit adoption, the lightning network, safer smart contracts and sidechains. It will take time that's for sure; but, that's better than rushing into disaster after disaster like Ethereum seems to encounter.
It is good to see some progress in this, although it is more than evident that there are more alternatives and this is reflected in the popularity of this, however I suppose others alcoins suffer from the same kind of effect, so while some people think that LTC is dead, others consider it a good option to move, IMO while it have volume in the market and news like the one above it will remain stable, although the value may seem low, the miners have barely exceeded half of supply, perhaps that has been another factor that has influenced the fall in price, the miners selling to cover their operating expenses, maybe it would be interesting that someone else would post on here data as the number of nodes, network difficult, number of transactions etc.

Right. Litecoin dies. I do not know what a fool today buys it. We see the last gasps. Its price is lower and lower.
I thought it nobody mine, there are more effective options, such as - the XZC.

If litecoin was dead, then all cryptocurrencies with a market capitalization of less than $ 240 million would be in the same state. I think Litecoin is just beginning to demonstrate the potential that is in the currency, as it is a currency that in addition to having good qualities that exist in Bitcoin, allows users to have a faster solution to make payments.
good point. Thanks for sharing with BTCtalk people  Smiley

it has 4x the capacity and no political assholedom hindering it.

of course most of that's down to no one using it but it also means that it might set itself up as a real contender technically while everyone's still on the same page. if they can push through fixes for all of bitcoin's glaring weaknesses then it would become the clearest alternative if bitcoin properly falters.
