Aoluain + doblezero - that's a cool idea too. I'd kinda feel bad winning it though since I saw most drawings. Tongue

I'm sure whoever wins it will scan/photo and share, but it also begs the further question:

What can the winner ultimately do with it? Sell it? Auction it? Raffle it? I guess you can't protect downstream, but it just came to mind Huh

I'm confused by your statement. are the drawings not going to be shared on the forum when its done? I always assumed that when it was done there would be a post that showed the book to the forum? Possibly shared at the raffle? Why are the coloring pages top secret?

Hello colleagues, I like the idea of the free raffle among participants.
I really want to see all the colored drawings.

I don’t believe anybody who participated in this project had financial gain on their mind, so any funds received via raffle or auction should go to a worthy cause either on or off the forum. But, I also don’t think it should go to a global charity because most of those are extortion campaigns veiled as nobility. What did I hear, that less than 10% of donated funds actually end up where they belong? Another problem Bitcoin fixes   Grin Just my 2 sats.

I like Timelords thinking but its true that a lot of the funds donated to these global
charities go firstly to staff, offices and operations. Very little end up "at the coal face"

... I think right off the top money should be used to fund the series 2 coloring book.

🤔 Brilliant idea, I fully back this suggestion, fantastic idea and just wondering why
I didnt think of it 🥴...

All joking aside I have plans to create a "Book 2" and have the foundations set but
this isnt an official announcement or anything.

What about a FREE raffle among the participants, that way there are no funds involved,
winner gets the book?

I didn't participate in this venture to turn the funds gained into a witch hunt.

At the outset aoluain suggested the book might be put up for auction.

I endorse MJ's suggestion for helping students acquire art supplies to help nurture their creative spirits.

I mean witch hunt is a little strong. Personally id like to see the funds re-invested in the forum somehow, but i dont have a problem with kids and art supplies. Im just not a fan of giving it to a third party with the hope that kids get some supplies. Id rather buy supplies and give them to kids ourselves. Whatever you guys want to do is fine with me. I did this because I like to color.

My two cents- i would like to see the money benefit the forum or physical bitcoin in some way. I think right off the top money should be used to fund the series 2 coloring book. That way these become legendary and others can be involved in this community building project. I think the rest of the money should be held by MJ so we can start a fund for victims of physical bitcoin fraud in the future. Ultimately though im on board with whatever the group wants to do.

Edit- maybe instead of a fund for victims it could be a bounty for a person who finds the physical bitcoin fraud. It encourages everyone to keep their eyes open and vigilant

Rest assured, it was just the first charity name that came into my head.

I would imagine if charities (in a conflict zone that has recently come to international prominence recently) were suggested, then there might be howls of indignation on both sides if the other side were seen to be favoured.

Perhaps whoever wins the auction gets to nominate the charity from suggestions made by the contributors?

Since this is a community driven art project, maybe we can give back to an entity that would donate art supplies to students in need or something similar.
Not sure how legit this one is, but using as an example: https://thegivingblock.com/donate/adopt-a-classroom-org/

Regardless of how noble a charity people might put forward, you might get a consensus of sorts, but probably not total agreement. I've seen a few scams in the forum including one purporting to be in the name of the forum but the ones organising the fundraising simply pocketed the funds instead.

I'll go along with the majority if it is an auction then either we divy the funds up equally and dispose of the funds ourselves. Or, if there is a consensus for one charity that is not regional but global e.g. UNICEF or similar, then I won't mind that.

Its very interesting actually that the original box I used to start the book off on its journey
still remains with it.

Just to make it clear that it was never my intention for the book to land back with me. Its
my project in terms of the idea but its also everyones project who took part.

What happens after MJ finishes the book has yet to be decided.

What value do we put on it?

a. raffle/auction it to the community
b. raffle/auction it among the participants only
c. ?

If raffled/auctioned, where do the proceeds go?

a. divided between the participants
b. donation to the forum
c. donation to charity
d. ?

Heh - Yeh, I just put what had arrived in my Post Box into a larger heavy card envelope and sent it on its merry way.

I'm wondering who might end up with the book and what plans there might be for a second book to start doing the rounds in the not too distant future?

Good to have you on board . . . finally.

So you can contact @Cryptogreatdane who has the book currently and can arrange
the transfer. When you have done your art you will be posting to MoparMiningLLC.

Just a heads up, will you use registered/tracked postage when sending? last thing
we want at this stage especially is the book to go missing!

I believe it was literally in the same box you had it in when received it from TL, and then I again sent it to xSlyy. I told him to forward that on to Dane as well, so we keep all things intact. (Timelord did a great shipping job, I did a good package as well wrapped again like everyone else so far I think, and used adult signature delivery, which fortunately was fine with xslyy.

Enjoy Geo! Don't feel rushed. Your whole look on it will change once you see it, as some have mentioned! (as did ours lol. Amazing stuff so far, happy to be a part)! Smiley

And yes, to be lost at this point would suck, but I don't think it will happen now that it's finally in the US. Altho USPS has sucked for me lately, I'm assuming they are working fine for most other parts of the US.

So as of now geophphreigh is awarded the spare position but to be fair I will leave this thread
open for 12 hours from now for any objections.

We can then move forward and update the original thread...

Updating this thread to include geophphreigh to take ZipReg's spot.
