Congratulations to you, Legendary is the highest rank in this forum and you probably know very well how to celebrate it because not everyone can reach this rank easily even after years of trying.

Also congrats to all the users who have managed to reach a new milestone for their merit and account rank, that's to be expected and of course Legendary awaits you especially for anyone who hasn't. Keep it up, you'll get there soon.  Wink

Recurrent update.

The forum administrator Cyrus, BitcoinGirl.Club and n0nce earned a lot of merits and now have more than 2000 merits.
duesoldi who is active on the Italian local board has also crossed this threshold.
Brilliant! Cool

Coyster is a new Legendary.
wolwoo who posts in Turkish sections has also achieved the same rank.
BitcoinBunny has received enough merits to be a Legendary, but she does not have sufficient activity.

Rruchi man has been promoted to a Hero Member.
sam00 who is active on the German local board has also reached this level.

uchegod-21, Cookdata, _act_, meser#, Rockstarguy, WhyFhy and Retro Harmony became Sr. Members.
NoorulHuda has also achieved this rank, but this user is already banned.

Dunamisx, Doan9269, Davidvictorson, Est2013, Oluwa-btc, wtsimis and Joric have ranked up to Full Members.

Cheers! Cool

Being seriously now, thank you, Coin-1. I am glad to see that you are also appreciating the topics I wrote about Bitcoin history and ideology. They were a thorough work which, in some cases, took days or months... I still have some similar topics in mind and I hope to be able to write them soon... I did not have too much free time lately, but let's hope for the best!

I just noticed that you hit 952 activity points and luckily ranked up to Legendary, so I removed the comment about the lack of activity from the logs. I wish you good luck on your future way. Wink

Well Congratulations Sir For being one active and quality users. I just Found this thread 😂 My rank is not going up i think some activity issue. I think now you are one of most Merit holding users Keep it up.
My Activity is stuck don't know why 3 days or more may be its not increasing.

Thank you for your nice words, but there is no need to call me Sir Smiley Regarding activity, I think that you observed that it increased already, so there is nothing to worry about.

icopress [...] have also crossed the same threshold.

I would like also to express my deep appreciation for icopress and for this amazing achievement, but it's not just that! Besides surpassing the threshold of 2000 merits, he also managed to earn 1638 merits in just 5 months and 372 in last 30 days! These numbers are stunning and are seen very rarely thorough the forum... Bravo icopress!

RickDeckard [...] have earned enough merits to become a Legendary, but they do not have sufficient activity.

And special congratulations also to RickDeckard, who joined now the gang of Legendary members which do not have enough activity Smiley Perhaps this is the most frustrating period from the evolution of a user inside the forum -- always barely waiting for the next activity update; many times blaming the bad luck then waiting for the next activity update and so on Smiley Nevertheless, congrats for achieving this remarkable number of merits, taking also into consideration that all were earned from scratch, without any airdrop!

Excepting these, I am also congratulating all the other users which managed to rank up recently. Keep up the good work and I wish you all fast further rank ups Smiley

You have now filled all the slots available in these logs.

Hihi, that feels great!

My confidence in you has been based on your excellent posts and profound statements about the history of Bitcoin. I see that you continue to earn merits even faster. Keep up contributing to the forum like a champion. Wink

I have updated all lists and chart on the first page of this thread.

VIP member Hal and eddie13 now have more than 2000 merits.
icopress and mole0815 who are active on Russian and German local boards respectively have also crossed the same threshold.
Impressive! Cool

Mpamaegbu, Mbitr, Slow death, Bitcoin_Arena and sujonali1819 are new Legendaries.
Silberman, yhiaali3, FatFork, MinoRaiola, -doubleU-, Snork1979, Best_Change and jokers10 who post in Spain, Arabic, Croatian, German and Russian sections respectively have also reached this level.
RickDeckard and Poker Player have earned enough merits to become a Legendary, but they do not have sufficient activity.

Smartvirus, execijutiere, JanEmil, ImThour, wndsnb, Harkorede, CryptoYar, _BlackStar, Kavelj22, Boristhecat, verbakalim, KingsDen, Krubster, cheezcarls, garlonicon, hisslyness and m2017 have ranked up to Hero Members.

Congratulations on ranking up! Cool

So I championed this account as I said! I kept my promise. Of course, I won't stop here, as at the moment I am just a Sr. Member and in order to finally become Legendary I still need between 1 year and 1 year and 8 months of activity. But the merits for this position are achieved, with two ranks ahead.
Yes, you fulfilled your promise. I'm not surprised you earned 1000 merits so quickly. I have read your threads about cypherpunks and the history of Bitcoin and found them very laconic and informative. I guess soon you will be included in the list of users who have over 2000 merits. Wink

Your confidence in me was amazing and I am happy I managed to make your words come true!

My Activity is stuck don't know why 3 days or more may be its not increasing.
That is not an issue or a problem, here is the reason why it seems your activity is stuck:
Quote
Why is my activity stuck/not moving?

Because you can only get 14 activity every two week period. You will have to wait until the next period starts to get another 14.
So all you basically have to do is just wait and continue contributing on the forum as normal, when your next period is complete, your activity will be updated, if you want to know all about activity, check this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/faq-everything-you-need-to-know-about-forum-activity-account-ranks-and-merit-2766177

Thank you once more for mentioning my name here, Coin-1. As always, it's a great pleasure and the happiness is greater considering that chances to me nominated here decrease as you rank up. And, in time, there are less and less chances to see your name here after reaching Legendary rank. However, with continuous hard work and good contributions, there are still chances. And now I am happy to see I got to be listed by you again. And this reminds me of a previous discussion we had 1 year and 3 months ago. Your words came true, Coin-1!

dragonvslinux and BITCOIN4X are new Legendaries.
Eyyyy!!  Congrats to all the newly-ranked up members, and it's good to see there's a lot of them this time around.  I could have sworn BITCOIN4X had already reached Legendary, but I guess I was mistaken.

Merit sources must be doing their jobs well, and I'm hoping non-merit sources are doing their best to distribute merits to those in need.  The system is over three years old, so it has a decent track record but it'll fail if members hoard their sMerits (I think I've said that like a million times already, but it's a persistent fear that I have).

Once again, I'm going to offer post history reviews to any member below Legendary rank as long as they don't already have 1000 merits.  Just drop me a PM asking to review your posts and I'll be happy to do it.  I'd actually be grateful if more members took me up on the offer, because I haven't been doing as much reading in the past few weeks and so haven't handed out as many merits as I usually do.  I'm trying to improve, but it'd help if I had my attention focused on where to send merits.

Right now I only need 118 merit for Hero and 618 merits for Legendary, but of course I should have enough activity.
By the way, so far you have had a great forum journey based on your history of merit and if you manage to maintain or improve that quality then in no time you will get 500 merit. I think it's not impossible, so just do it well and don't think too much about getting merit in each of your posts. I really feel you need to learn more about bitcoin than think about achievements or high rankings on this forum. There's not much point in being a Legendary if your knowledge of bitcoin never improves. That's all I can recommend.

OP, good jobs, Cheers.

Now the merit system is working fine for me and so far I have managed to earn 382 merit from 71 different users, and have also send some existing sMerit for 70 different users. I got the Sr rank a while ago and it was quite fun, and now I just need to buy some time and try to keep contributing to the forum with the best quality possible until Hero and Legendary members are reached. Right now I only need 118 merit for Hero and 618 merits for Legendary, but of course I should have enough activity.

^ I don't normally respond to Meta mentions but happened to read the first few lines in preview. It still feels very recent when I got bumped by kind users to pop into Legendary, and most merits since then I would say have also been out of generosity.

Always trying to pass on that kindness, but happy to recognise familiar names in the list. Well done to all, merit serves its purpose very well in those usernames I recognise

you have 1898 merits which can make one legendary, one hero, one one senior, one full and one junior member from scratch. This is Big achievement if you look that way.

Hehe, thanks! I never look at it that way, but now I see that indeed, with my merits 6 users, each of a different rank, could rank up Smiley

But just a little wait and you will easily cross these levels and only need to remain active for some more time and next activity distribution period you will see new rank on your profile as well.Mark my words. Wink

I wish your words come true, but for reaching Legendary rank it's not that simple though, as to reach this rank you have to have an activity between 775 and 1030. When you create your username it has a seed, to say so, which nobody knows (probably excepting theymos), saying at which activity level you will rank up to Legendary. So it can happen once you reach 775 points of activity, but it can happen as well when reaching 1030 activity points (which is 255 days later than the moment of reaching 775 activity points). Or, it can happen somewhere in between - e.g. at 800 activity, at 900, at 1020 or at any other number between 775 and 1030.

Now of course, I wish your words come true and my rank will change at the very next activity period update (which, according to this spreadsheet should occur on December 29th), but the truth is that I will never know until it'll actually happen. But I have enough patience Smiley

But I'm wondering why the activity drop is too much when you already have more posts than your activity count. If I'm not mistaken, your activity shouldn't decrease when your post count is still above the amount of activity you have. But maybe I need another reason why it happened to you.

I guess you know how the activity works. You get 14 activities every two weeks or 15 days. If you post 14 times in the last 14 days, your posts and activity count will be the same. But, If you post 30+ posts in this period, Your posts count will be increased but your activities won't increase. There is an exception, Whenever you post 1 time in 15 days period, 14 activities will be reserved for you. Suppose, You post and activities were equal. Now, If you post 1 time today and are inactive for the next 13 days. Your post count will be increased by 1 and 1 activities + 13 reserved activities. After these 15 days, if you post 27 times after that, your activities will increase by 27 instead of 14 only. Because you reserved your activities before.

Is it a bit confusing? I guess so just because of my bad explanation.

Again, while congratulating all the members which ranked up, I am more than pleased to see also someone I am close with listed by Coin-1. This time I see icopress reaching Legendary threshold, which is a great achievement. Congrats, icopress!

I also noticed that your activity is 775 now so starting next activity period you may become Legendary also with the rank per se. I wish you good luck to obtain this title in a small amount of time, thus avoiding waiting a possible maximum of other 260 days. I am in the same situation as you here and I am wondering after each activity update "will it be now?" Smiley However, the most difficult part has passed, that's what matters. Now we just have to wait.
Man, your words delight my heart! But do you understand that this is just a formality? Since, as well as overcoming the threshold of 1000 merits, the waiting for the Legendary rank will pass unnoticed for me, since I have long found here those whose messages I read with a smile, those with whom time flies unnoticed.  Kiss

Congrats to everyone who ranked up!  It never fails to amaze me how few members are climbing the ranks every time this thread gets updated, because prior to the merit system a list like this would have had probably a hundred or more names on it.  So the members who rank up these days truly deserve to do so IMO.  Props to all of you.
Don't be shy, you had a hand in this ... by the way, if this thread existed before the era of the merit system, then it would be extremely difficult for Coin-1 to make regular updates, since updates would have to be published every day. Although, on the other hand, even if there was no merit system, we would still observe a decline in activity, (judging by the dynamics of the effectiveness of advertising on this forum)Undecided

But, somehow forum allowed thread creators to ask their participants to post like this. If that was not allowed, why did they delete my post that time? Why were they deleted after 4 years? And why only my post?
Mods don't work like robot because they are humans too. So sometimes they need time to follow up on low value posts for deletion, maybe 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week or maybe 4 years (as you experienced). It's still possible for someone to report some of your old posts for breaking the rules or just being of low quality, so I don't think you should blame them for that either. - Someone might try to warn you not to post like that again in the future after they find out that you've had quite an impressive upgrade recently that they report some of your posts (only you), so think on the positive side.

But I'm wondering why the activity drop is too much when you already have more posts than your activity count. If I'm not mistaken, your activity shouldn't decrease when your post count is still above the amount of activity you have. But maybe I need another reason why it happened to you.

I had reached 260+ Activities a few days ago. But, yesterday A Mod deleted my 7-8 Old posts that were made back in 2017-2018-2019. The posts were like Username: naim027. Because the thread creator asked us to post usernames on their ANN to participate in the game. I Don't know why moderators deleted the posts. And Now my Activity stepped down to 168. It will take four months to achieve the activities again.
Doh!  That'll happen when the content of an entire post is just your username, because if I'm not mistaken those tend to get deleted sooner or later, either because a mod is cleaning up a section or thread, if a thread gets deleted entirely after a game like that is over, or if someone reports those posts when it's over.  So counting on low-value posts (even if they're meant to be such) to contribute to your activity when you're below Legendary is risky.

But you're doing all right, and I'm sure if you keep making decent posts (that aren't for games like the above) you'll get back to where you were before you know it.  If it's any consolation, I've seen people get busted down a rank or two because someone reported a bunch of their crappy posts and a mod deleted a bunch of them all at once, and those were actual discussion posts.

Thank you very much. I understand that my old posts were of low value. But, somehow forum allowed thread creators to ask their participants to post like this. If that was not allowed, why did they delete my post that time? Why were they deleted after 4 years? And why only my post? I checked the thread and most of the other participant's posts are still exist. So, I guess someone visited my profile and saw this guy got a lot of merits in the last few days (225 in 50 days which is a lot for starters). So, I should fuck him up. After that, I also deleted my few old posts to help moderators. I thought why someone needs to report my posts? I guess I can help them by deleting my own. To be honest, I never knew that if I delete my posts, my activities will be reduced 🐸. I also did some mistakes. But I don't regret it anymore since the posts were valueless.

So as long as you're on the right track, just take the small setbacks as a learning experience.

Because they are low value posts, basically. You may want to read Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ so you avoid future surprises.
So as long as you're on the right track, just take the small setbacks as learning experience.

I suspect there is more behind this.
For sure those were low-quality posts, but also I guess there was not really a need to do that unless there is a problem with the message database being too big.
Also, I have been reported more attention to consecutive posts (subsequently merged by mods)  and things like that.
