My biggest hopes go into Ether and Storj at the moment

They are all about decentralization and enabling big firm cut their expenses, and that's what everyone wants.
Less expenses for them means more money for us - simple as that

My most loved long haul speculation is waves and Ethereum Monero NEO Stratis presently. These are going to take us to future. These coins have an extraordinary task and are upheld by great groups who know how to fill the requests of the speculators.

Only coins I hold for long term are Bitcoin and Ethereum. I do not want to chase coins which will make x100. It is too difficult to find and be patient in the long term.
I also hold Waves for the mid term for taking profit and selll.

If hold for 4~5 years then I suggest most of your money (about 60%) for holding Bitcoin and others (the rest 40%) holding ETC,Waves,LBC,NEO and XMR, and I also recommend to hold DeepOnion for a short term of about at least 6 months, this coin seems like have great potential.

currently multiple of your "HODL" coins are performing terribly and it has been like this for at least 4 months for each of them. and looking at each of their charts you can clearly see these coins like XRP have the same pattern of getting pumped and staying up 1 months and then slowly creeping down towards their bottom and lower than that.

i am sorry to say this but you have bought a big ice cube and now you are watching it melt, shrinking each day.
Yes, in my opinion BTC and XVG the only coin you can HODL but others are simply expressing a non performing well on trades lately. They are draining and melting your investments to other altcoins.

For the people who mentioned Monero, I suggest that you take a look at Aeon. Its lead developer is smooth, who is also a lead developer of Monero,  in case you did not know.

There is also an Aeon code rebase to be released soon that will make it as good as Monero code. Their code might almost be the same but their roadmaps are different. Aeon's goal is to become light enough to run on mobile devices.

Well, at the moment i am just holding a few altcoins that i trust them so much, and i have an important amount of money invested on them.
10% of my portfolio is on bitcoin.
20% is on ethereum
30% monero
20% waves
20% litecoin
I think that those are the safest coins that are here on the altcoin market at the moment, a portfolio like this is giving me a good return, in the last week i earned more than 8% profit from that.

You have a good portfolio but I think your holding of bitcoin are a little bit on the low side so try to increase that in the next months, it is true that bitcoin cannot move as fast as a coin with a lesser market cap but it is a safer investment and you need to take that into consideration as well.

If the world doesn't end, coins worth holding for 5+ years would be...

Bitcoin (you should have 50-70% in BTC)
Litecoin
Ethereum
NEO
Civic
Stratis
Monero
IOTA
Decred
WAVES
Komodo

QTUM is like a sleeping dragon?

The reason I think QTUM is about to take off and will return at least 5x within two months but in the longer term will prove to be rewarding looking to 2018 (a few of the reasons)

 1.  Interview of QTUM team on CCTV in China, will create awareness (PBOC backed)

 2. Will have a WeChat or QQ integration, WeChat's mini-programs will allow users to transact using QTUM and also avail its service by paying through QTUM

3. Number of DApps built on QTUM greater than number of DApps built on NEO

4. Rumoured they have two 100 billion remninbi investor backing

5. Asian Exchange listing

6 - they are planning to launch QEA (QTUM Enterprise Alliance). Now there is speculation they are in talks with Alibaba and Tencent as the first allies but that has not been confirmed so at this stage please just treat it as pure rumour only. Don't factor that into any price considerations and I hesitate to even mention it.

But do your own research. I hold NEO and Qtum and OMG.

You have a wonderful portfolio and I think you should also add bitcoin infact 30% ought to be in bitcoin as bitcoin today is like gold standard for others altcoins and cryptocurrency. I think investing in bitcoin may give you great Return On your investment  for long term.  If you have a high risk capital you can add the following list to your portfolio as many of them are great project. Wave, lisk, strats, zcash and litecoin.

Picking up some zen secure nodes now before they go live couldn't hurt they're really cheap compared to current coin supply and potential growth.
ETC is an ez hold with barry shilbert and his company grayscale. He's not going to fail his investors.
If your not hodling some Dash your in for some big regrets there. If bch can hold a 10 billion dollar market cap, Dash can touch that and more.

As I have recently just joined the world of Cryptos around 1st August but I am doing only investment based on long term HODL currently my portfolio consist of NEO, OMG, XRP, SIA, XVG & ADEX

Would like good advise on any other cryptos with reason which I should be holding for a long term prospect of 4 to 5 years time

XVG, SIA are only among your coins in my portfolio others I find worth is  the ETC, ETH, and XEM. They once lead the market in exchanges (not on the coinmarketcap).

Adex is good option, because i think it's price always increasing, but why you not pick waves? Waves have their own wallet and platform so it's good for our invesment
I hold some Adex,Waves,Eth, and Mobilego these projects has a good future. I know I can earn huge profit for holding this altcoins.

On long term, Zencash might be a good investment. Imagine that everyone who still lives under a dictatorship would use this coin.

Be cautious about buying coins that have already sailed.

TRST could be opening up the next tech wave right here right now and is so cheap at the moment. I hesitate to spread too much about it as our group is accumulating it as we speak.

The development team for WeTrust (TRST) includes a couple of guys who were deep in at Google. They are working towards a finance model for banking services to be used in the mainstream which utilises the ancient concept of the trusted circle for those without traditional banking access points. I think the Indian, Chinese and Viet market will go crazy for this. Think of “village banking”. Reading between the lines it appears that the Dev team may have retained links but I would be speculating to say they are working in league with the tech giant, Google. (No proof yet but I’ll keep digging) Anyway do your own research on this one. I’m adding it to my Asian collection (NEO, Qtum, XEM and OMG)  These are also HODL at all costs.

- Pre-sale sold in 11 minutes.
  Source: https://medium.com/@Pally/pallys-reaches-pre-sale-target-in-minutes-91bd7f76f6c6
 And proof Smiley : https://etherscan.io/address/0xe6a618e9269d36af746dce64dcd8956d72160e24

- Max cap is very small compare to others ICOs. Max cap = 4 500 000 $
So capitalisation when they hit exchange I think will be 100 000 000 $ ( more than 50x ICO price )

- They have beta product (app) with 25k downloads.

- They have all stars team and advisors from JP Morgan and HSBC Smiley

- So If they hit 100 000 000 $ market cap on exchange it will be 50x ICO price!

It's interesting that in 11 minutes all tokens are sold and saying the truth there is not much activity on that ANN thread.

Probably the tokens were sold to private investors and/or bought by their selves (the team) - just speculating.

For long term I'm holding stellar and byteball, maybe not the best choice but I don't have a large amount of them.
It's really the usual thing for hyped ICO to sold that way. have you seen how 0x sold all of their coins within few minutes?.
and your speculation about their team bought the tokens themselves doesn't make sense at all, what the use tho?
