I suggest that you try to invest in good and successful coins if you want to invest long because investing in good coins gives you assurance with minimal risks unlike other coins that is underdeveloped. Though investing long terms requires patience.

You're right, each of us have different perspective on the kind of altcoins we want to invest. First, we need to gather enough information the kind of altcoin and study the possible profitable days or months which will refer on it's graph. Also, we need to aware their downfall since its part of the performance like in what was happened on bitcoin. Thus, most altcoins relying on the value of bitcoin though not all but we need to aware of its performance because we have no idea when it's gonna increase again just to wait as a long term investment.

If you have big deposit u can buy easy top 10 coins in market( like btc, zec, dash, xem and etc.) IF you have small money you need to look for a good cheap coins. You can buy kin, dta, capp. - This is new and not popular coins with good team and interesting product.

I prefer to invest in coins who are newly introduced after ICO. An example of this is Wepower at the moment.
I believe newly investors in crypto are looking for new coins created but it won't be a consideration that really give them a good profit since it doesn't shown any good market as a start. It is more considerate those coins that have already a good market trend and very active, cause it sure our investment will work and get some rewards.

You want long term coins? I am pretty majority of the people will agree here and that BTC, ETH, and NEO are the best long term holds ever in crypto. Honestly, just hold on to platform coins and you will see how far they will go in 2018-2019.
Long term invests ! May be profitable and make you become rich, because altcoins every year its price definitely go up slowly but surely, I personally if there is capital I want to try long-term investment, how about you.

There are many coins that you can invest in now and make some good profits in future and some of them are highly cheap coins. Bitcoin is going to make a very high significant upward movement any moment from now. Ethereum is also good that you can add it to the list of the coins that you may like to invest.Tokens like tron, lendconnet and lino are many opportunities out there that you can take advantage of and make serious profit in future.
Like many others said aswell. BTC ETH NEO and perhaps even MIOTA. If MIOTA's tangle gets more and more famous im guessing it will be quite big later, and the market is quite low right now.
