However, I have a different opinion when someone has nothing wrong with spending a small part of their money to buy lottery tickets such as $0.1 to buy 5 tickets or 10 tickets and that is not a big number for everyone and it would be better to do it only when you have money but according to I think everyone can afford to have $1 every day and there is no problem losing $1 to try their luck at getting the jackpot from the lottery.
We will never know when we will be lucky and buying lottery tickets with the smallest amount will not make us poor as long as we can consistently think that this is just an attempt to get lucky.
It is just testing luck. There is no problem, when you have an opportunity to spend this $1. But if you have to choose to buy bread or lottery ticket - it is not a good time for testing luck.
And, the same time i don`t think that it is a clever decision to believe that you can become the winner between 10.000.000 people. I`d prefer to buy coffee.
I can respect your opinion because everyone has a different point of view and even if you prefer to buy coffee rather than buying a lottery ticket, that's a wise decision, but for me personally, luck will come to someone who is willing to try, even though the chance of winning is very small, but we everyone doesn't know when luck will come so I keep buying small amounts but can still buy coffee and enjoy this sensation.
You are right and I completely agree with you, it is good to drink coffee, but even while at it, we can as well but some lottery tickets, for we never can tell what will happen through those tickets.

When comparing money spent on coffee to that spent on lottery tickets, I can personally say that I perceive money spent on buying lottery tickets as money kind of invested because there is a chance of good profit if the buyer is lucky.
But money spent on buying a coffee is like money thrown away, as there is no chance of making any profit from such money, aside the enjoyment and pleasure felt while drinking the coffee, outside of this, that money is like money thrown inside a toilet since the coffee will eventually be pissed out.

In fact, all the time one of the lottery participants repeats some of the same numbers and their sequences, for example, the date of one’s birth, this can be regarded as superstition.  But many people treat such superstition as a magic number that once was something memorable and significant for them.  And they constantly write the same numbers, believing that the probability of winning again from such a lucky number is higher.  But it is clear that this is not at all the case.

But still, most lottery players, it seems to me, still choose numbers quite randomly.  By the way, it’s interesting how these random numbers come to a person’s head, why are they exactly like that?

When it comes to repeating numbers, I have a real-life experience with that, one of my relatives plays the lottery on a daily basis. Just like what others do, she bet on the same number for almost 20 years I guess? those numbers came from her dream and believes that those are her lucky numbers but she never wins a single penny. I think, winning in the lottery is just pure luck because it doesn't require any gambling experience as long as you have money to buy tickets. Some people pick random numbers based on their birthdays, important dates of events, and based on their instincts.
I also read to deal with such situations when it comes to a number, I also have experience in real life where I played the lottery. But I didn't play the lottery for a long time because I won the lottery for a few days but my luck was so bad that I never won so I gave up on this lottery. When I say the numbers right after I win the lottery, they do a crazy thing inside me that leaves me very confused. But you said here that he has been coming with the same lottery number for 20 years but I think it might be stupid or wrong to do this. And as far as I know, I have never seen a dream come true, a dream remains a dream, it never comes true, and since he won the lottery after seeing the number of his dream, he could not pay anything until now. If he picks good random numbers in the lottery, he might win, but if he plays the same numbers over and over again, he may never win.

In recent times in my country I have seen that people have started to choose to place multibet bets with many teams so that the odds can exceed values such as @500.00x this allows people to bet 1$ and if they manage to get it right, then they win a lot of money, this was the strategy used by people so that the chances of putting in a little money and winning a lot of money in games of chance are greater than buying lottery tickets, which are much more difficult for someone to win. Spending time and money on the lottery, in my opinion, is not something that brings an advantage. This is because a person could spend 10 years playing every day and still never get anything right.

So people see that when they buy lottery tickets they won't win anything and can go years without winning, so they look for other options that are better and in that search, they find sports bets which are games that don't depend on luck, sports betting being games that They depend on skills, so making multibet bets with very high odds and placing little money to bet, the chances of them getting the bet right and winning a lot of money are much higher than playing a slot or index game with high multipliers. for example I saw news that the country that is close to my country, last week many people from that country hit multibet bets with very high odds which made many people win a lot of money

Buying cheap tickets that have remote possibilities of giving you a win, but are cheap even bought by the dozen is - statistically speaking - clearly and provably a losers game. However, there is nothing wrong in playing tickets from time to time because it is like a way of keeping hope for the future alive for many people who will never have any other way of making significant money.
As for me it is a bad idea. If someone has no money - buying tickets just decreases money, he needs for living. Of course, he has a chance to win big prize, but the main part of such gamblers just lose their money. And it isn`t an "everyday cup of coffee", it looks more everyday bread. It would be better to spend these money on something really important than trying to catch a luck.
Seeking or trying your luck from lottery betting is not detrimental thing in my opinion as long as he can manage it (financially).
Remember that betting on the lottery by buying tickets will not lose excessive amounts of money because lottery bets can be made in very low amounts even lower than other bets plus with this small amount gamblers can make profits many times over if they are lucky.

Moreover lottery bets cannot be found every day if only one lottery betting provider is trusted.

I sure that nominal amount won't buy anything and even buying just one loaf of bread won't be enough.
It is just one of habits that get your money. Buying everyday coffee in Starbucks, smoking, junk food - all these things get a small part of your money. You can afford it and doesn`t count it, but as the result you spend some sum(sometimes big enough) for nothing good. Of course you can continue to do it, and the lottery is not the worst choice, but it looks like one more way tp spend money for nothing.

Well, drinking coffee is another way to get your daily punch of dopamine, but I don't think that it is necessarily a more clever behavior than playing lotteries. If you only mentioned another food with a higher nutritional value...

In fact, even the homeless wouldn't notice any difference in most countries if he spent $1 once in a week or in a month, while the hope he can feel by playing can save him from a deeper depression or even suicide. Of course, in an extreme case anyone would choose bread before lottery, but do you still think that it is always better to buy coffee instead?
The coffee is just an example. The price of the ticket in my country is often between bread and a cup of coffee, so it is easy to compare. If i want coffee - i make it myself mostly.

Of course everybody have his own way and i can`t criticize someone, if they don`t make troubles for other people. And if there are no problem with money - it isn`t a problem to spend some part of them as you want, but when you test luck the lottery owner gets your money.
PS. I still buying some tickets as a small present - it looks nice and the price is small enough.

Buying a lottery tickets can be profitable if we have the luck that will keep us going. Those that bought several tickets so they can win might not even have the luck to win the lottery. Sometimes we just need to take some risks trying our luck out rather than trying not to take that risk. Lottery games can be profitable to those that know how to find their way or manipulate the system. Lottery can be a good substitution for gambling loses especially when we have made so many loses. In order to relax and rest for a while, we can decide to try lottery games if we can have a lucky winning.
What about manipulating lottery?
How you would really be able to do that?

No matter what you do or even you would really be that buying tons of tickets but still the chance or odds of hitting lottery jackpots would really be that too far.
There's no way that you could really be able to win up lottery if you arent that extremely lucky. This is why you should really be that making yourself aware about the chance or odds on hitting up lottery no matter what the form it would be on which this would really be that needing that extreme luck for you to be able to hit up that jackpot.

Dont make yourself that be too optimistic or really that believing that hitting those numbers would really be that easy. Also, you should really be that
only spend with those few bucks on non impulsive manner.

So over all, lottery is for the most lucky people or gamblers, and also for the patient, for the impatient gambler will probably play the lottery once, loss and never come back to try again, chances are that, an average gambler may lose the lottery game a hundreds or even more times, before he or she have any chances of ever winning.
Lottery isn't a winners game. Amount of people playing it and losing is way higher then people losing in casino games.
Take jackpot, let's say Megamillions for example. Changes to win it are 1 in 302.6 million.

Slots have a bad odds for winning jackpot too but they are way higher. According to investopedia article "one-in-5,000 to one-in-about-34-million chance of winning", and since odds in slots are bad, people turn to other casino games, table or even sports betting. Games that have lower house edge. Those are not bringing huge jackpots so they are not as inviting for players like me for example, as for me this is all about luck and big multipliers. If i would want to have better odds, i would be definitely playing blackjack as that has lowest one, if one just follows some simple rules playing it.
On just simply looking at the odds then you could really be able to tell that its not really that something that you could be able to hit up even if you do have that long lifespan and continously betting on everyday.  Grin

This is why it would really be that always a best approach on dealing up with lotteries or sweepstakes that you should not really be that anticipating or really that being too positive on winning the lottery would really be just that making you that betting even more on which it isnt really that recommended in doing so. If you do have just some spare amount of money then it wont really be that bad to throw up some bucks into lottery.
Just make it sure that you arent really that spending that much when it comes to lottery tickets because if you do then it would really be that still significant when the time comes.
This is why you should really be mindful and careful when it comes your spending.

Ticket purchases are cheap but since you would really be making bets on everyday then there time come then it would be something that you would really be that significant.
Just dont make yourself that desperate then you should really be just fine and if you do really that make yourself that enjoying on betting on lotteries then go ahead.
Just dont make yourself that messed up.

I think I said everything in a few words, I also think that things can be like that, based on the porabblbhiades and statistics, the chances of winning the lottery are quite remote, you would have to be very lucky and even have many numbers purchased, because They are new because it is not ideal, because it would be a lot of expense and the safest thing is that you will not win, plus things when they are possible are always like that, if they were numbers that were from 1 to 100 the possibilities are worth the It's a shame, but if they are Numbers that go up to 1000, the opsibldaides come down to the fact that it is almost impossible to win, but as I said, some people are always looking to win and spend money in these lotteries, but that being the case, it is something of faith. In other instances there are games that are more difficult to win because they are 4 figures, just as they are in the lottery like the ballot, and I have a friend who always plays it, he always goes to Colombia every day to search and play the ballot, and he has faith that one day he will win, so these are things that can happen but the possibilities are minimal.

I would think that when a person has their faith in gnmar and from there no one knows, then these things are that if you calculate, they spend around 2 dollars a day, which means that things can be very large in amount, and well of course, more than 600usd in the years that will be spent because I don't Know if they are worth it , of course if you win the jackpot then that luck would be Unique, the truth is I don't assume that type of luck, because obviously things can happen, but there are 4 Figures that you have to hit, and I see them as very difficult, they are very hard and well, it is something that I do not see is possible , at least for me, that friend who He plays every day because Something is in his favor, he tells me that he doesn't keep track of what he spends, because what he sees is that his hope is the only one and Winning that baloto.

My father used to play that way too: he had some lucky numbers he always bet on, as they were magical (in fact, one of them was the "magical" one, while others, multiples of it or containing it, were interchangeable). As you very well said, it has to do with superstition.

It makes no logical sense, but we still hear news from time to time about winners who played always the same numbers and eventually won (of course: if they didn't win there would be no news to talk about).
Judging by what you, dear colleagues, write in your posts, maybe I’m just wrong and quite a lot of lottery players constantly repeat their magic numbers when they fill out lottery tickets.   Of course, filling out the numbers on a lottery ticket for 20 years in a row, writing the same number is an interesting and wonderful achievement.  If your relative continues to do this, then probably after a while she will be able to claim a Guinness World Record.  Smiley

In general, it is interesting, of course, what percentage of players are there who always write their magic numbers in lotteries, and how many are those who write spontaneously and by chance, just whatever comes to mind at the moment.  But still, you should treat with respect those who believe in their superstitions.  Sometimes it works.

Others might say that money doesn’t create happiness on its own but it allows you to do things that generate life satisfaction like helping others, paying for rewarding experiences, and having higher-quality leisure time. How I wish we win the lottery someday.

You wont really be needing that technicality kind of thinking on trying out to differentiate in between lottery and and sports betting on which it is really that obvious that with lotteries then you would really be definitely be that relying with luck for you to win which is totally opposite when you do deal with sports betting.Yes, it does need that luck too yet there's no such thing about assurance on winning a gambling game
It cannot be stated that there are differences between these two types of play, since both are completely dependent on luck, with minor differences. Sports betting is more realistic because it is possible to make a more thoughtful bet that is closer to realism, while lottery depends entirely on luck and no strategy can be followed. This leads to a bigger difference, which is that playing the lottery with a small amount can lead to huge profits, while sports betting requires a larger bet amount for the purpose of achieving a larger profit.

Its pretty clear that the odds are against us in lotteries and games. Still, a lot of people keep putting money into them because they want that mysterious big win. It is important for people to know that, based on statistics, winning is very unlikely. Spending money isnt the only problem here; the psychic loop that forms is also a problem. It might not seem like a big deal to bet a little every day, but the amount adds up and, more importantly, the habit forms.

You're right; its not as big of a deal if you're only using extra change. But lets deal with the problem at hand: the idea that "small amounts wont matter." They do matter in the long run. Yes, they do. Its not just about money; its also about how much we value hope and how naturally we tend to believe lies. If you enjoy the thrill, thats great, but keep your mind on yourself. Do not let the game control you. Look deeply into why you are doing what you are doing. Think about your reasons for doing things. Also, please do not become desperate.

Intuition tells me that too about sports betting, but it would be really interesting to know about research on this topic which proves that there is a real correlation between knowledge and gains, and the weight of skill in the outcome (I heard once that, in poker, skill is 80% of the probability to win, blackjack 60%, and so on, but I'm not sure about, for example, football bets).

My opinion is that we tend to overestimate the weight of knowledge in sports betting. In the end, our knowledge on sports is based on news that is available to everybody, so it has to be hard to be competitive when this info is public, left aside that luck plays a major role too in big wins, while "sure" bets (if there is anything like that) have low odds in exchange.

I frankly do not see the possibility in the metrics with which their analysis or conclusion is drawn. Even the best of analysts, when it comes to gambling, can have his professionalism challenged with the outcome of a speculation.
The gambling companies are in it for business and if everything goes as a professional analyst speculates then, it's only a matter of time before there is no business for the company.

We have some games and areas where skills and speculations are sometimes inaccurate and will fail us repeatedly,  but then also we have to choose those games based on the unique nature that comes along with them,  such as lotteries,  I wonder what kind of skills or expertise that one will need to make the best possible selections of the number to pick and whether or not it becomes the lucky number.

When it comes to gambling,  picking the right number that gives the winning or becoming the lucky number is quite and most important at some point,  and at best one needs to look out for that specific aspect of risk management and possible outcome of things in the long run.
If we are talking about lottery, then what i have to say is that, there is no experience or expertise in choosing a number, there is no skill or professionalism in lottery, we only can have people who have played the lottery for a very long time and due to how unlucky they are, they never have won a dime out of it, meanwhile someone else that just played the lottery for the first may get very lucky and win the jackpot.

This is a clear explainer to the fact that, lottery is purely based on luck, winning the game has nothing to do with one's experience, or how long the person have been playing, or how much one have invested in the game for the long term, the only way to increase ones chances of winning is to buy and hold as many tickets as number, and if the lottery is one that involved numbers, then tickets should be different numbers cause that the only way to increase one's chances of winning the game.

You are correct in that matter; it is true because only 4 or 6 digit numbers are chosen, and then you just wait for your luck if your numbers are all drawn in the raffle draw itself.

That's why the others don't; they take care of the numbers they always use in the lottery, believing it's their luck, and often the birthday combinations they use are those that are precious in their lives, either the date of their spouse, the birthday dates of their children, or their birthdays. That's what others do.
