Haha, Despite the fact that this year has been challenging, LoyceV was finally able to achieve perfection.

Continuing the spirit of the (long time derailed) thread, I'd like to take the opportunity to wish a warm Merry Christmas to the Merit Cycling Club, to its members and also to all the users which post here from time to time!

Also, a special thank you to Il capo di tutti capi, for keeping the world safe, thus we can all celebrate Christmas with our loved ones!

Merry Christmas y'all!!!

kids ... plutonium

This doesn't sound very safe. You must put your kids in lead-lined clothing.

Thanks again for your flawless timing Smiley My time machine was off again, kids were playing with it so I had to zap them back first. Now I'm out of plutonium again Sad

That stuff gets harder to get every year.

Since I don't (yet) have any 30 year old whisky lying around, to celebrate AU$30K I am drinking two Glenfiddich 15YO Solera Reserves*: one old (left), one new (right):

To be honest, I'm not a fan of the new bottle design, especially the label. It's just too modern. As for the contents of the bottles, which is all that really matters, they are both quite similar, with the light fruitiness and spice that Glenfiddich is known for, though the new bottling is slightly more fruity and less spicy, and a bit smoother overall (no doubt more ex-sherry casks and less virgin casks). Almost disappointingly so; I much prefer the extra spice and intensity of the old bottling, which is vaguely reminiscent of a good American rye whiskey. Or maybe it's just a case of They Changed It, Now It Sucks (warning: TV Tropes link). The new version is still good (especially for the price), just maybe not as good as the old version.

*Yes, the solera aging process means a miniscule fraction of the whisky in this blend is indeed over 30 years old (37 in the case of the new bottling), so I could have just drunk one on a technicality, but that just wouldn't be right. Smiley

Ok this has to stop. We didn't open a new bottle when corn hit $210 or $2100 so let's pledge no more drinking until $30k AKA tomorrow.

Ok then Smiley As BTC reached 30.000$ today ( Smiley ), I'd like also to cheer the moment with one of Romania's finest beers!

So at 6 digits I'm dead.
Is that an admission of mortality? Doesn't sound very AI-like to me!

Edit:
I've also got a 21 year old Laphroaig miniature that I'm hoping can at least wait until tomorrow to be opened at $21k.
Welp. Cheers.

I'm sometimes known as "miniadmin"
If you go down that route, then good luck breaking the laws of chemistry when we hit $101k. Perhaps Foxpup has a machine for that.
1 shot of Absinth every 100K? With of course partial proportional smaller shots every milestone (so 1.5 for 150k)

So you're saying I should have settled for 20%?

I think Gold & Blue is aged 25 years but I'm too drunk comfortably seated to check. Don't ban me for getting ahead of the exchange rate.
If we don't hit $25k by Christmas now I'm holding you personally responsible.

What are we all drinking to mark $20k?

Gautier VSOP if you must know. XO bottle is stashed for when we breach $20k.

What are we all drinking to mark $20k? I've got a bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail I'd stashed away for the occasion. I've also got a 21 year old Laphroaig miniature that I'm hoping can at least wait until tomorrow to be opened at $21k.

Guess I need to start shopping around for a 30 year old bottle. This is going to become an expensive tradition.

Thanks again!

After this flawless “paid”-“thank you” iteration
That's not true, once in a while Foxpup's time machine is a second off.

Anyway, bored here again, our first real hard lockdown. Of course, everyone's still going wherever they want, people are still going on vacation, and many shops are just opening their doors pretending to sell necessities Cheesy
But they closed schools, so work from home just got more difficult.
