I've been able to move around with $20k USD equivalent in my pockets, and done a few international flights with that much cash too (not recommended, depends on your purpose). The OP in this case is not the scammer, but the user Tabata11, and maybe he learned his lesson. Maybe.

One of the lessons in this case, is choose carefully your escrow, whether that is a person or an automated website. It is unfortunate this still happened.

I mean from reading the updates, it seems like op learned a big lesson.

Nope, he didn't. No one went up his door, he didn't return after sometime to pay back the money. I was scammed 3 BTC initially, but he returned 0.5 BTC. He took with him my 2.5 BTC.

He's still active on steam, plays CS GO, made his steam profile private in order to hide his shit.

But is pretty much the lucky ones out there who got their bitcoin back, cause almost never see a scammer return bitcoin.

Using the person for self escrow - sounds like a redflag despite the rep since if its a good amount they can easily walk away $20k in their pocket.

So what has been done since christmas to recover the lost coins? So far only a handful of people have got their coins returned, but many others have still been embezzled and are do not have the money master-p owes them.

Localbitcoin.com has a built in escrow system. Perhaps such a feature be added in the new forum? We want to eliminate scamming here as much as we can, and using built-in escrow systems work.

It is really kind of crazy.  Many times, just throwing the word escrow or something like that out there makes everyone suddenly start feeling safe and opening wallets, when in reality that person is no different than either of the other two that are doing business

Enter Escrow2 where future escrows are backed up by parent escrow services which may or may not be administered by the same people. Once that runs its course, enter Escrow3.

are we still talking about master-p or has this thread gone completely off topic?  not complaining, just been on vacation and trying to catch up

Steam is full of people trying to phish free gear, sending iffy links to staemcomunity . com or whatever :p   I would guess its harder to scam since valve put in the trade delays and revocation but no doubt theres people still sitting there all day trying their luck

someone filed some bad rep against him, not sure if its anyone here but he mentions bitcointalk, last oct
http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/report-76561197994994008-csgo-counter-strike-global-offensive-items.114476/

http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561197994994008

Its listed as unconfirmed, Im not sure if anyone wants to further that so he is clearly marked as unreliable

Yep, I can confirm that is his Steam account.

No I dont escrow anymore.
Pretty sure that someone can do a good bunch of harm with the knowledge of the steam ID. Well, not my style though but it looks like it is something pretty important for him. Well, there would be ways anyway to make his life unease.

What rank is he on CSGO, is he Esea or what I wonder.  I play csgo, if you knew his nick or team that'd be something

You might check the first pages of this thread. There were screenshots posted though he changed some things so I don't know if it is possible to find him with that details anymore at all.

The nickname (mf-jones) can easily be changed. I know that some people know his steam ID though. I dont see how this can help though, blocking someone on steam is easy and you cant force to be matched in CSGO with someone outside of your friendlist.
-redacted-

Not sure what one can do with it though. The profile is private now.

It might be harder with a private profile, don't know if it is possible at all but steam has rules regarding what is allowed and what not. Not so sure if it would work, together with the old profiles but it might only be revenge, no real way to move him to give back the coins.

Yeah, only harassment is possible, less so with a private profile. Its still possible to spam friend requests (like the steam malware bots do it) AFAIK.

Why not pay a small amount to let someone visit him for the start? His living address was not yet checked, right?

It should not cost alot if someone living near him will do that and film the visit silently.

I am ready to pay the amount if it's small. Considering the risk involved, the amount would never be small.

What risk? Approaching does not have to b the first step. Maybe simply observe him from afar a bit. He surely has something to protect... his social status or something. Though when I read he plays CS all day then it might be that he lives in his parents flat only... I mean which normal person has that much time to play?

Yeah you're right. It's best to walk straight to his house and confront his parents for the repayments. Pretty sure the address posted here is the real one since he has gotten his home censored on google street view.
