Saying it could never take off seems a bit pessimist, it could definitely take off as it hasn't been explored fully, most people were focusing simply on the trading part of it and not worrying about the technology that it brings.
No one knows actually whats going to be with crypto in the future. I think market will recover and will reach highest points of the January 2018. Hope to see it soon
I think the market may be dropping because of the amount of projects coming out every single day, they are not that innovative and end up ovecrowding the market, if new promising projects starts coming in then I think the market could recover easily.

It is possible that the peak of marketcap is not actual volatility, and currently the market works according to its capacity. But the cycle will occur in two directions, and sooner or later, the market will rise even though it will not be the same as the highest peak.

In fact the bitcoin price is trading in low position for a long long time and therefore now we are not expecting that there will be anymore correction in the market, we are not expecting the price to shoot up. Indeed, the market keeps on falling and still we cannot control how many shitcoins are listed everyday. These shitcoins are just bringing the market into its worst state. I think the solution to this is for exchanges to filter out coins that have no value. This could help the market rise up a bit.

One time I was also thinking like you market will not up like old. But on the past experience was used to sell according to my habit. Good thing for me just in Dec I sold much coins and market goes too much down and from that time I was holding coins just part from the profit. But for the bitcoin you can see from the chart, it can achieve that price again. From the ATH down around 62% and from the last 3 month cover around 10% slowly. Maybe it will take more time to achieve past mark.
There are many reasons why this market will never amount to anything: The list goes on and on!

For me BTC is way overpriced. Whereas STEEM and a few other ALTS are undervalued. Technically there is no 'true' value, that is only decided by how much the next person to buy it is willing to pay.
Well the persistent downtime the market is experiencing is just a eminent correction and not to be scared of. Market will be pick up hopefully soonest.
I would advice you don't be in a sorry mood and loose your resolve the will not be the first time for cryptocurrency to fall into the bearish market so I still thin it would surely overcome this
Crypto market will survive. Blockchain is widely used and it's the future. Government organisation is coming up with thier own blockchain project but it may take years. At some point of time, peopl who are opposing the crypto will surrender to great projects built on blockchain technology and user base will increase.
I have always put a lot of trust in this market and I hope it will not stop here. Cryptocurrency is a financial market of the future and practical applications of quality coins are worthy of note. I hope that everything will be better for this market in the future. Jump to:
