Against cards used to commit any kind of fraud, of course they have ground to freeze them. The same can be said about customers that used more than 10 cards.

Against sellers that bought thousand of cards and sold them to others, the matter isn't that clear. There is the rule that each person can't use more than 10 cards, but a seller isn't using them. If they let people buy cards to their children and friends, a seller isn't violating their limit of 10 cards. A family guy can buy more than 10 cards and offer them to their kids, family and friends. A corporation can buy many and offer them to its employers.

But it seems they are blocking all cards bought by a seller, if one of the cards he sold was used on a fraud.

Beside, they know many cards are being use by different people. The IPs accessing those cards are different and, specially, the withdrawals and the buying of things are being done in different countries. Therefore, they know they are blocking innocent people.

Furthermore, blocking the cards and demanding the owner to go to Poland is an abusive and unnecessary measure. If the owner has access to the card website of the bank and can spend the money with that information, he should have the right to enter an IBAN and ask for the withdrawal of the money.

They seem to be creating problems in order to keep the money. And that is something terrible, that a bank can't do without risking to destroy its reputation. And for a Bank, reputation is everything. Without trust, the bank is dead. Tomorrow, will have a bank run on itself.

They are crazy if they think they can get over this without consequences. The people they are abusing are mainly european citizens. A bank that does this to european customers will screw polish customers at the first good opportunity.

Send them emails and point to every thread on the Internet about this problem, including this one. Threat them to open more threads like this, making facebooks groups, etc.

I guess you could also send emails to authorities and the polish news sources, but that can kill these cards, including the BZ cards. A word of the polish parliament and the law will change, ending these cards. The pressure from abroad already exists. Point this to Mbank too. Their act can end one of their profit sources. They will make some money, stealing from their customers, but they will lose on the long-run.

The blocks are caused by a quota, if too many people abuse them, the bankstars have a valid reason to block them.
Especially when the US threatens to bomb them for being too liberal.

You wrote that your polish friend got a block card too, but he use it in UK, also I think he has transferred money also from UK bank account.... even if he polish, his card was blocked because he used it in another country, or bank or something else.
These cards were for Polish people, so I think they have more than 10 000 cards in a country and if they get their cards block, IMHO: we could find information in Internet, anything. Today I can not find anybody who was in the bank.... NOBODY!!! Can you imagine that? If bank sold more than 100 000 cards and nobody was in the bank? I own more than 20 cards!!!! only I, but I think in Poland there are much more people, who has these cards and no information.

Anyway SPAM SPAM SPAM, I do not think it will help, simpler to have somebody in Poland, who can go to bank. For you: your friend has a family or friend in Poland, you can send cards there and they will authorize your cards, also I think it does not matter how much cards you have. For today I have 3 blocked cards and I am going to Poland in October-November. Anyway I hope that we could find any other possibilities to unlock our cards. I will spend 200-300 euro for this F***ing trip. And this is POLAND.... nothing there. ahhh WHY NOT SPAIN or ITALY?)))

This is mass block, it happened regardless of where You used Your card or Your balance, or Your limits or anything for that matter. Polish users did get blocked too without any reason.

I've wrote to Polish friend. It happened the same with him. And he gets same shitty answers from them, he's in UK and do not have possibility to go to branch, he even proposed mailing scanned docs - got ignored.

I've asked them if card will expire and to this time i will specify return IBAN will they send money there (it's stated in their TOS that after expiration funds are returned to specified account) for now they're ignoring my question for 2 days. And even if they answer in positive manner i still think that this money will never reach me, even after 2 years. As Banksters are just common thieves.

It's funny. We all know that prepaids like to be used in shady way, but most of use used it only for some small payments, did not exceed any limits and truth to be told - if You used card for almost a year it's hard to say that You used it in any fraudulent way, because it would get blocked in first month. It looks like it's just calculated action by mBank.

I give a week for trying to clear this situation up. I have 4 cards and almost 600$ usd on them and i will definitely not go to Poland to get it back (costs are much bigger). If after week nothing happens i'll already asked my Polish friend for some pointers to which financial portals/blogers/reviewers write. I will post that here to, then we can start spamming, even if fund will be not returned they will at least suffer a little. From what i heard it's one of the worst banking institution in EU.

Of course You can get a lawyer in Warsaw, but costs will probably still exceed amounts on cards.

Also transferred everything to BZ.
Thx for the tips guys.

Do you also did it by phone? Email? What email?

Where do you add the BZ card IBAN?

I added the IBAN of the BZ card while I was on the phone with them and I wouldn't hang up until they didn't confirm that they were seeing the IBAN to make the transfer.

They confirmed they received it and that they would make the transfer.

only 1-2 posts about that and it is all. Seems like they block cards from other zone, may be by IP or ATM... or if you get transfer from other zone, not Poland - you get block.

they change their rules every day... 2 days ago they offer wire transfer and post withdraw, now only branch. what happen tomorrow?

Wait: they just changed their rules again!  Shocked

Yesterday I asked them to send my credit in a blocked card to a Polish IBAN, and this is their answer:

In reference to your message I inform that the only possible way to remove authorization blockade is visit in mBank branch.
Due to security reasons it is no longer possible to order money repurchase from blocked card.
I am sorry for inconvenience.

I got my money transfered to a BZ card/IBAN. Confirmed!

I withdraw 150 EUR (max) yesterday and today.

Two words for you!

Spam and spam  Grin

Phone and email!

Do you already have the BZ card in hand to make the transfer?

Use the mbank portal to upload your BZ card IBAN and call them on the phone.

Say that you sent a ton of emails (if you did!) that you obviously won't go to Poland just because of this.

Ask to speak with the supervisor. Never hang up until you have a satisfying answer.

Be extremely annoying.

And spam spam spam. Mbank, Commerzbank, regulators in Poland, Germany and EU.

Always forward the emails (delete any info that doesn't favor your cause) to everybody when you receive a reply from someone.

So, only 1 member got money back?
Are you sure, that you got money back? Already on your new card?

any ideas? Anybody tried to send there a letter? complain, real paper complain to ask them to write you a good answer why is your card blocked and who will pay for airtickets and for hotel if you go to Poland.

It seems like only if you have more than 500-1000 eur on your card - you go to Poland.
If less... so nothing? It costs 200-300 euro for European to go to Poland. tickets, hotel. This way Mbank is stealing money.

IMHO, we need to send not email, only real complain letters could help. They have to answer why they block your card and why you have to go to Poland.
They have to answer on each letter.

You gave them scanned docs?
Real or bogus info?

Only the same exact bogus info I gave when registering the card.

I added the IBAN of the BZ card while I was on the phone with them and I wouldn't hang up until they didn't confirm that they were seeing the IBAN to make the transfer.

They confirmed they received it and that they would make the transfer.
