who will merit a post that is just two lines of words but actually meaningful and solve a problem? what happens to such post that is short and precise and was helpful? 😁

Me and lots of other people. Have a look at Bitcoin Development & Technical Discussion and Bitcoin Technical Support boards and you'll see it happens a lot. From a quick look at your post history, you are a stranger to those areas. This is a Bitcoin forum and it's right that Merit is given to people actually discussing Bitcoin rather than posts in Altcoin bounties like yours.

Eg. Retweet Airdrop$700 and WIN $700 [ Best Bounty]

Wow nice good luck to all participants

i see this merit pattern of growth in rank as an indirect way of stagnation, not allowing other members to also fully rank up,  because i have been reviewing it over and over in my mind Cheesy to see how effective it will be in terms of filtering and reducing bad post, what i could come up with is a very slow way  or if not impossible way of ranking up ,

Seems like people's overall sentiments are that not enough merit is given out, is that right? I personally don't seem to see a lot of merit changing hands. Think its a great idea to incentivize good comments but not sure if it's allowing people to gain rank.
Of course, there are allocated merits to merit sources in the forum. Those ones who are knowledgeable, active users in the forum; and they are readily to send their sMerits to who deserved merits due to their contributions to the forum, and their meaningful helps to other users with their high quality, constructive, in-context threads. In-context is very important because your thread might be high quality but it will be non-sense in the case there are available threads which solved the problems of topic's creators before yours.

You must be looking in the wrong places, or just not looking at all. The merit stats show 110,934 merit has been sent in total. The post right above yours has an example of someone you was able to rank up. There's another here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.32742207

Getting merit is the hardest thing for me and others to become a member. I hope i'll get some after 1 year later learning about Bitcoin and crypto market. Maybe in 2019
It is not too hard, and you can make it. I give you a link to iasenko, who has ranked up to Full Member today, as a case study for you. Learn from him, and rank up.

You should be contributive, helpful, eagerly to learn new knowledge to reach what you want. Don't fall to traps of cheating, spamming, begging for merits.

Appreciate the concrete example, nhathongkehoc. A lot of people just say "make quality posts", but its easier to understand what that means by actually seeing it.

It will be a barrier for the newbie to join in the bct. The "old" guys naturally got a lot of merit already. Even the newbies learn hardly, and try to give constructive posts. Few of them can also succeed. But possibly, most of they won't yet get merit rewards as they are not famous and have other's attentions. Instead, I saw some famous guys got a lot of merits by just posting a simple question.
What a shitty Hero Member . Stop complaining about merit system, you can never change the fact that the system was launched. It has existed, and will exist, you have to accept the fact. The merit system is extremely good for bitcointalk users, for all ranks of members; it is only bad (as you said 'barrier') for spammers, account farmers. Good luck, xlcus.

That's my boy  Grin If you were some high ranked member and commented this I could not have digested it but having a rank as you are and still not "bitching about merit system" that's kind of thing I don't see often.

What about low ranked users ? It is only possible to win Merits creating usefull post ? And if so as a Newbie i have 0 sMerit points right ? Sorry if i bother you with my questions but all these blockchain world is new to me.

As a newbie, you should be asking questions and seeking information. That in itself adds value to the forum.

How can you build a constructive post if you need more education on the subject? It's best to read, learn then post.

hello guys. i just come accross this topic. searching for answer why my rank don't increase eventhough i have already 191 posts and 182 activities. i am not complaining though. about the merit system, must i going to spend it to incease my rank? thanks for the answer.
Still no idea regarding merit system? OMG! just read first the start of this thread to educate you regarding merit system. As of now you have 10 merit point, you need to reach also the requirement before you rank up. you need to collect 90 remaining merit before you rank up into full member, because even your posts reach 1000 together with your activity. You will remain in to member if you cannot reach the 100 and up merit points.

how to become legendary member ?

Patience, more patience and hardworking.
You need to wait ~3 years, you need to make more than 775 activity up to 1030 at least, you need to get also 1000 merit at least.
If you want to get more information about merit and activity, take a look at the sticky topics in meta.
Good luck.

I wonder why this obvious troll got merited by Quickseller... /s

is it only for USA ?? if you live in Europe you cant participate ??

Looked up to the post and thread and i am curious too. Well for now we can only speculate things, bad things between them. But i dont want to say anything without a valid proof or data, but i agree that is really a bad post when you already state the rules on your first post.

Although I welcome the merit system by now (it maybe shouldn't be as hard as it is to earn Merit), one example that the Merit system doesn't work very well sometimes ... in my opinion: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/iota-1216479

20 Merit for this post, what a lucky guy.  Huh

And the sender mostly sent/earned Merit in Russian topics, who controls whether that is legitimate?
The thread writer is not lucky, but foolish to do this in front of merit abusements finders. It looks like merit abusements (merit trade). Those ones should be listed there
Mass merit abuse/ farming.
If they keep doing this, they will deserve to get terrible punishments from forum moderators.
