could you do something with that config to edit after we plug the hdd into the miner?
What do you mean ?After i write the simpleminer on hdd i need to add the email in config.txt file, this file can be changed after the miner starts?
Just plug it back where you created it, change the email, put it back.. done..

what software can we use to make a complete copy of the usb stick??
rufus hdd and win32 wont read the usb stick fully

Claymore's ZEC miner v12
v12.0:
- improved speed, about 405H/s on stock 390X, 450H/s on stock Nano, 290H/s on stock 280X, 295H/s on stock RX480.
NOTES:
1. Reduce intensity ("-i" option) if miner is unstable.
2. It seems there is no way to get full speed on latest drivers for Fiji cards, at least in Windows. So don't use latest drivers for Fury, use 15.12 or 16.3.2.

Total nub question: Is this as simple as it seems? I just burn the OS to a SSD, plug it in and away I go? No need for Windows, Linux, Separate drivers etc.?

I know there was a suggestion about adding a special option Optiminer v1.5 for testing. These 300 clock issues can really eat into profits if not monitored. Could we try that please? I know myself and a few other members would test this and provide feedback.

Exactly, those are GLOBAL variables, no mates which miner or OS you are running.

My gut feel is that "gpu_force_64bit" and "gpu_max_alloc..." is not the same.
Can you help investigate?

I tried it anyways... and knew it was new version because my rigs did not crash!
there was something wrong with v1.6.1 that my rigs would not last 1 hour
there was something wrong with v1.6.1 that my rigs would not last 1 hour

Anyway i need t figure out how to do ability to lock versions.
And select which one should be downloaded to rig becasue i cant keep all of them

#export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100 ( XMR/ETH Also )
#export GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT=100 ( Single GPU alloc for XMR/ETH Also )
Using RX480 you may find better without most of the options except "export GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=1 " which is Required by optiminer-zcash

I dont see it in my dashboard.... logout and login again .... still no v1.6.2
v1.6.1 is still there though

I was getting tired of ssh'ing into my rigs to edit the start.sh file.
This will increase performance and reliability for mining.
