at the moment it is locked down to eth using the claymore and no choice is available for pools and such

question can this be used to mine ETC i mine that and not eth can it select a pool i choose or is it locked to eth

100% compatibility cannot be integrated into any operating system! by blocking the ability of installing what works for the individual your blocking many people from using this distro! example;the guys modem, or two identical gpus bought at different times in different stores,while one is one a reference card build of that particular gpu the other is not, ram changes and also the exact functions change for overclocking, but if you block this then one will work or the other will be low hashrate! the best way to avoid huge mishaps would be in my opinion is to use a update script and not do it automatically. update the system apart from the miners also is preferable.another example would be giving people the choose to use claymore's or the sgminer on choice! simply because if i would prefer to use a different miner instead of the one your making us use it might not be one that i am interested in and that is when i stop using your distro! keep the formate your using because it seems to be doin ok but open it up and alow a larger part of the community to even help in the development! im sure some really raunchy devs would love to dig in and destroy the copy you release. just like i have to actually find out what was in it and for info reasons! doing that on computers offline and you will never know it ever happened but it is inevitable that it will happen! and on the rare occasion there will be someone that actually is able to fix a bug and sharing it will help everyone!



once you release the passwords for the system ... simply make it very clear that any changes is on the responsibility of the owners of the rig and  not yours. so if they make any changes then its their fault and responsibility to find a way to fix it, or start fresh and not mess with it but it is their choice!

i have dilema because i could give root password accually because i have nothing to hide and if somebody dont want use my simpleos he will find ubuntu anyway.
Anyway, when some people will install and some stuff and i will make new auto update which will perhaps upgrade linux kernel then modem you just installed could simply stop working
Then you will be angry that i pushed uto update and some other people....
And i know now that there is so much changes in krenel with amdgpu driver that upgrades will be from time to time.
My concept was to make auto-update system which in some cases could fuck up the rig.
(for example internet from usb modem will stop working)
I could give root password but i dont want anybody telling me that something custom of his stopped working.
What do you think ?

All current updates were only updating my custom scripts (to be compatible with new database schema on website simplemining.net.
So most updates wont do damange but when i will do separate system and my scripts updates then in future there could be mess...

I would like to do this the proper way and not to regred my decision in half year.
Anybody have an idea how to make it right ?

Ok, so because this password has parts of my other passwords, i will make update which will change root password on all rigs and then i will tell you what it is 

 

I need to install a 3G USB Modem for Internet Backup. Modem is Huawei E313.
I can not install the modem drivers because i need root password.
What can I do ?

Let me guess, hex editor + higher VDDCI? But doing that at runtime is wow *offset intensifies*

Where do you see this 115W ?
in gpuz stats or from power meter from the wall ?
because gpuz values are not real.
When i tested RX470 yesterday i had those results:
27,3 MH/s 178 watt(wattage metered from the wall and this is card only , i substracted rest of system watts)

Glad to see rx400 tests are going well.
25Mh/s for 115W with RX470 4GB is even better

My system isnt opensource.
If you want free system then make it yourself.

There is no single one other guy who want the same thing so sory - i wont do system only for you ....
If there will be more people telling the same idea - then i will rethink this.

All i hear from other people is to pay for this service as fee.
And to achieve that i will have to make own pool, which i will make but or now i dont have time to do this.
Anyway as i see my system wont have fee at least for 2 months from now. It might be extended.

I also am working on RX480 tuning which gives me 29MH/s with 170 watt from wall which is nice.

so what your saying is that you wont give fallover support? and you wont forsee that is somthing drastic would happen  . so either live or die is what im hearing and your via of saving the crypto world with you closed source and semi functional  private scripts .  that is really a great choice!

Its not free for all Ubuntu which can you use and modify.
Its my custom OS with custom scripts, i will do what i will think is good for my system.
You can tell everyday about opening system but sorry - its not that kind of system i want to have .....
If you want open system then go and do it by yourself, sory but mine wont be that...

while Dwarf pool is DOWN "Due to technical maintenance the website will be offline for a short period of time. All your shares are calculated, all pool servers work" it is moments like this that the owner of the rig should have access to his machine, redirecting to a valid pool. or making the best descision for that paticular instance! unfortunatly all access is not allowed and if the one and only person is not infront of the computer or gets in an accedent and is in the hospital while all the hash is sent to a dead pool for the three weeks, no fallover pool can be set because you locked your os up,

 just one more reason to open it up

your the only one with that issue all the other opensource use the same as what is available to you but you locked the os with your password and not allow anyone to even install the control software if needed! or even change the date and time to their local time! if people want to trust you with their address then give them the choice but not locked and make them doin only what you say and how, give people the chance to use it.

i would need to block ssh connections, there are so many security issues so its not that simple

keep the system as it is but give people the choice on how to use it! if they ruin it once and find out that its best to leave it alone so it works that should be up to the individual and not you. go buy a new car and  your obligating people on the way to drive so obviously there will be many that will not even consider it because lack of trust in you as  those few lost souls who say what ever is needed to get a freebe and work less!
many have also said they have issues as your system cannot cover 100% of the community and all the different combinations of hardware! opening it does allow for things to work better and with a wider adaption!

yeah, you are saying that this is stupid and ok.
But many people say that it will be best OS ever.

And all you are risking is about 24h mining... big deal ....

I have many people sayign that auto update feature is best thing (like windows 10)


let me understand you, you want me to do exactly the same OS like ethOS ? lol
