So while MintDice will continue to run and we are going to continually expand it's offerings and core product and we're more than happy to look after our users, it's not the entire focus of MintDice as a company. We prefer building, and are doing that for others that have wanted to license our technology, with MintDice as a showcase.
I missed this Ann thread and was looking who is currently managing the ANN. Good thing that I figured out finally. The telegram is not working, may be you update it in your personal text.

A major focus has been providing technology to other parties rather than focusing on our own product. This is partially because none of us are really salespeople. We all seem to dislike "selling" MintDice to others, advertising, running promotions and that kind of thing. We're all a bunch of nerds that want to provide the best product, Provably Fair technology, anonymous gaming and that kind of thing to our users.
It seem the project is a hobby?

Telegram is not working, that deactivated a while ago.

The project is not a hobby, because as was stated, MintDice's technologies are being licensed to other groups.

And as was stated, due to the growth of MintDice's technology, it will continue to expand it's infrastructure over time in synergy.

Anybody still playing here? I hear so little about Mintdice these days....
I get an email from them here and there and I see the person that runs the site is still active on the forum, but when I login I don't see many playing. Site has its own forum/blog section so maybe they spend most of their time improving their own in house news?

Honestly, Mintdice is running for more than 3 years now but there is no significant improvement in their traffic in this 3 years of operating. I can even say that it was better when they have just launched 3 years ago. After they stopped the signature campaign to focus on the development of the V2, not many updates after that time. No promotion, rare update in this ANN thread for too long time but I'm surprised that Mintdice is still alive and running although without enough players.

The website is still up and running and getting improvements every month. It's gained some traction the past few months but it's still pretty small overall in terms of users but also at all time highs.

Hi, it's good to know about the soft launch of SportsBook. It's good to know Altcoins will be coming in a few days. We will be waiting for the upcoming reward programs. However, good luck with future integrations. I hope it will bring positive productivity.

Rewards are being worked on more aggressively at the moment but I wouldn't expect them to come online for months. I'd hope if we're lucky we get there around June 2023 Smiley

Thanks for your interest.

Okay, good news. The SportsBook soft launched a few weeks ago and we're now happy to make the next step and announce things a little more publicly here on BitcoinTalk.

You can check out the SportsBook here : https://sportsbook.mintdice.com/

We also have a blog detailing the launch : https://www.mintdice.com/blog/now-announcing-the-mintdice-sportsbook

Moving forward, we have a lot more improvements we have in store for MintDice. Altcoins will be coming some day. We'll fully integrate the sportsbook with the MintDice home page hopefully some time next year. And we're building the VIP rewards program (any play now will be paid out retroactively the day the program launches).

Hopefully the new MintDice games get launched next year as well, but wait and see for those ones.

Any questions related to the SportsBook or other, please let me know and I'll try to answer.

v2.1 was just launched giving a small reskin upgrade to parts of MintDice.

The SportsBook is almost certainly launching this month of September. I will update the thread when that comes out.

Altcoins should be soon to follow Smiley

MintDice Update:

We have added a suite of casino games that can be found here:
https://www.mintdice.com/casino-games

This casino suite will continue to be updated fairly quickly at the moment since we're upgrading the cosmetics and game mechanics.

In order to make the casino suite compatible with MintDice we now offer bets to be visible in not just BTC denominations but also $USD and also in Satoshis.

Coming up soon:

#1 - v2.1 (A cosmetic upgrade boost for MintDice, coming very soon)

#2 - SportsBook - We are going to use an out of the box solution for a SportsBook for MintDice to get it up and running and then transition over to our bespoke/custom SportsBook design later on so that we can get this deployed quicker since it's a highly requested feature.

#3 - Altcoins - We're still working on getting alts deployed. We are going to host BCH, LTC, DOGE, ETH & DASH. And we're open to suggestions Smiley

There's more things that are actively being worked on but those are the major ones for now that are happening on the relatively sooner time frame. I'll post another update as things move along.

Any questions/comments, please feel free to ask.

It's definitely a balancing act of some sort. On one extreme you have Elon Musk who famously doesn't ever advertise his products and let's his products speak for themselves. In this specific example, it's worked very well for him.

I view the situation as kind of a more short-term and long-term play. If one's goal is to make quick, short term profits, then blasting on marketing makes a ton of sense. The problem, of course, is that once you spend on marketing, that money evaporates to an extent (if you acquire permanent users through marketing, of course, there's something to be said about that). Long term though, if the underlying product is faulty, no amount of marketing can really convince people to stay though, at least I don't believe that to be the case.

Long term though, if we focus on product development and overall quality, our underlying offerings will just start to be superior and speak for themselves. I'll admit things have been a lot slower than I would have liked but they are shaping up nicely for the time being this year Smiley

Good roadmap yes, but it should be followed up by good work as well. Hope the mintdice team can work for it effectively, efficiently, and professionally to make the roadmap come true on time. Sportsbook alone is not a guarantee that it will attract more users because there are many sportsbook out there. Being competitive is the key to attract more users. It can be competitive odds, competitive offers, and other things. Without being competitive, sportsbook will bring nothing.
That's true there are some new gambling sites that competes with reputable gambling sites and sports book will not guarantee that and promotion not with a proper advertisement and execution of what they have on the roadmap. Adding NFT and Web 3.0 would possibly a good thing too not only it is easier for some users but you would be able to support a lot of coins already not just BTC, ETH, USDT and other major cryptocurrency.
Doesn't matter how much money these new places have, it's never enough to gain the reputation big places of the old times have. Mintdice have been a bit of lacking these days that's true, they have been a bit more silent, I am sure they are doing "alright" for themselves, but the reality is that money is a very hard thing to find and making big marketing budget out of nothing is not possible neither.

This is why I do not believe that we should be focusing on anything specific right now. If they could find some funds, develop a bit further and do a bit of marketing they have enough history with them that people would trust mintdice way more than any new place would be trusted.
As long they are operational and there are people who do stay and play with the site then thats already a solid proof or evidence that they are doing well despite of lacking with some marketing.

Each business does need to allocate certain budget for that but not all would really be capable in doing so due to limited funds and they would rather be spending those funds in other aspects
like ex. enhancing the site more in terms or changes and fixes rather than on exposure.

Who would be the one who doesnt like to make out some exposure but if your budget doesnt permits you then you would really be just on that line.
You are right in what you say, if we start to think that everything that has to do with the expenditure of the budget of the casinos in marketing, the range is very high, those who have to carry out signature campaigns, that execution of funds, always generates good results and also a lot of exposure.

In other threads I have seen that there are casinos that focus much more on advertising and marketing than on RTP itself and in fact there is an open discussion, where some platforms sacrifice RTP for marketing. But I think as my personal opinion that these decisions are made due to the budget that is available, and there must be a good balance between RTP and marketing, I think that is the secret of success.

you have an nice roadmap but something is still a bit too late or is in your plans, that is free coin/rain chat. the sportsbook will definitely attract more users as the majority of gamblers are sports bettors, good luck with your planning going forward.

Web3 would be nice in theory because it would fit in with our main goal which is to provide the fairest solution possible to the end consumer. Provably Fair technology is one thing, but allowing control of assets as well to the end user simultaneously would be getting close to the holy grail of gambling.

All of that is easier said than done. And similar to many other aspects of the website, they will all magnify in use based on the underlying technology. Specifically, if we are able to develop all of the games and then add in web3, the web3 component will be more useful and powerful once it does launch Smiley

The ETA on that would be years off though, so I wouldn't get too excited on that for the time being.

I agree, and they are operational and have been for a while. However, if you are a proper casino then the logical thing would be whatever cent you have should go towards marketing. This place deals with investors of course, which means that the returns are even smaller most probably but the risk is less as well.

I do hope that they could make some profit, like even if they deal with 0.1 bitcoin per day marketing that could grow them. When they reach to a super high place where they make like 1 btc per day profit, they could reconsider improving the website. Right now even 10$ should go to marketing and keeping the place going.

Marketing isn't useless, it's just personally to us, if we had a total budget of say $100 to work with, we'd rather allocate the majority, if not all, of that $100 towards making MintDice a better website than spending say $50 towards making it a better website and $50 towards marketing. At least presently.

Marketing does have it's purposes though. If one has an extremely good website but no one is aware that it exists, then that's not the best scenario. That said, we hope that as development progresses, the website can do a lot of the speaking for itself and will gain more efficient exposure from the marketing that does take place on MintDice's side.

MintDice has had a free Bitcoin faucet and rain for years now. They are rather generous compared to other sites, but we have had to scale back its generosity over the years because there is limitless abuse out there which is unfortunate (for the longest time, over a year, I think our Bitcoin faucet gave 100 sats).

The free rewards will magnify with the VIP rewards.

There's a lot of exciting news and roadmap here MintDice! It is nice that you also considering having a license even though you are 100% provably fair casino and the sports book, I cant wait for it! and since you will be adding a lot of coins have you considered web 3.0 so we can connect our wallets through your website?
I think it could go into number 8, which will continue because if one site has shown good results, they will work even harder to achieve the next result and will not stop and be satisfied. After the arrival of web 3.0 in the gambling industry, it seems that this will be a new trend on gambling sites that have not implemented web 3.0, so if they are observant of seeing trends, they can add them shortly, especially using web 3.0 will make it easier for gamblers to link their wallets directly to that gambling site.

Yes exactly the comment here, this would be number 8. We've wanted to do interesting things with the lightning network or more broadly, web3 stuff. But it's easier for us to work on other things at the moment, develop MintDice and then get around to this type of thing once the space has matured a little more as well.

I see the Pyramid and Power Mint game before and until now it is not yet opened they are included in your roadmap but I was hoping to see more games such as roulette and how about casino games including live tables games? Are you also considering on adding that?

All you are looking for is under the category of #1 Licensed Games since this game are close source from different game providers which the moderator didn’t elaborate but I strongly believe that’s the 3rd party games since most of there in-house games has a probably fair code available. There development phase was very slow before maybe due to some issue on funds. They are planning to implement this roadmap for a span of 2 years so don’t expect that all this feature will be add consecutively.

Also mostly correct response here as well. Roulette and other standard table games can be provided by the Licensed Games, including live games.

I do believe they have the funds but I think they have their own priority to-do lists. As far as I remember, their bankroll was more than 300btc when I was still playing and I just checked it few seconds ago, their current bankroll is more than 250btc. I do also believe they have other funds outside the bankroll but for sure they have their own preferences on how/what to spend.

I do hope that they could make some profit, like even if they deal with 0.1 bitcoin per day marketing that could grow them. When they reach to a super high place where they make like 1 btc per day profit, they could reconsider improving the website. Right now even 10$ should go to marketing and keeping the place going.

Under the investment page, their current profit is around 0.4btc but I'm not sure this number is overall profit since they started the site 2 years ago. If the 0.4btc profit is the overall profit for 2 years, I cant say that the traffic is just too low for a casino.
