Proably not, my 4gb RX580 did that much before --asm started crashing it

I'm wondering if this is my issue.

Two separate machines, windows 10 1709. CMD remains open and reports healthy hashrate of previous but GPU load will randomly go to 0 as if something crashed and stay there. Pool reports no hashrate. No indication from software and no attempted restarts.

I've removed the --asm and the hashrate is now 60-70% of before. But within 30 seconds one of my GPUs randomly stopped mining and the hashrate indicator still says it is. Op. Now the other one has stopped, within 60 seconds of starting both.

Dammit. And I was all excited to let this run overnight after getting everything working.

Can anyone recommend another fork? I tried sgminer but the hashrate was under 10MH/s even after optimizing the intensity.

Edit: seems ok after installing every version of C distributable from 2005-2013 (2015 was already installed). 10 minutes testing so far. Will report back tomorrow maybe. Note that the previous issues had zero messages, popups or apparent crashes.

Further edit: one machine died overnight but that's because it was a fresh install - windows 10 default power settings standby after 30 minutes. The other machine was fine. So this seems to have solved my issue. Thanks for the optimized miner, OP.

Further, further edit: Added another machine and it had the same issue. Installing all the C++ distributable didn't help - quit after an hour. Only real difference is I had to install an older version of 10 (1607) due to circumstances. We'll see if upgrading to 1709 helps.

That all said, clearly some kind of failure-detection and recovery would be very much appreciated

Assembler kernel doesn't work, the driver just crashes or the machine restarts. Few RX rigs with different driver versions, it is just unreliable even on stock clocks. Non-asm kernel is fine but the hashrate is quite low.

sg miner doesn't start too

 this is my config:

I've 5 Vega 56 and 1 Vega 64.

You must you the Beta Blockchain Drivers, Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition Beta Version 17.30.1029 (Windows Driver Store Version 22.19.659.0), for a stable system.


I've tested all the drivers with Afterburner 4.4.2 and the above drivers produce a rock solid miner.


1) DDU
2) Install the above, all cards can be installed
3) Reboot & Restart
4) Run Miner

Can I ASK a stupid question... can you only mine Lyra2Rev2 with this miner or also other algoritmes with this miner?

Yesterday I wasn't able to use the miner at all (see my message here : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.28952992)

Today I can launch the miner without any problem (without the asm mode), and I did absolutely nothing, no change at all on my config... Very strange.

I've tried to launch the miner in asm mode but it crashes the driver or the entire system like you...

I use last drivers (18.1.1).

Please fix your asm kernel. I'll see what speeds I get without it, but it's not very reliable, is it?

Is there any update on the Linux version?

Anybody with a Vega 64 mining VTC? What are your hash values and settings?
Appreciate some feedback to use Vega 64 for VTC with this miner.

Same problem, I have also tried with an intensity of only 8, no success.

When I use the file "example.cmd" it crashes too...

Is there any way to get the miner status from remote (like claymore's does, by connecting to worker ip:port) Thanks

I have a problem with mkxminer, it always crashes just after it starts.

I have reinstalled windows several times, generally I manage to run it once after a fresh install and after it always crashes.

My configuration :

Windows 10 pro x64
4 GB RAM
6 x RX580
48 GB virtual memory
Adrenalin 18.1.1 drivers

I have tried to use the Beta blockchain drivers and last versions of crimson drivers, same problem.

I have tried to use only one RX580 with stock bios without OC, same problem.

I have tried with different coins / pools, same problem.

I use a lot of differents miners without any problem, it's the only one with this problem.

Sorry, screenshots are in French but I can translate or change my OS language if necessary.
