Hello Mkxminer!

After read all post and try each advice , still I'm getting the following message:

Error: mkminer.exe error, (0xc000007b)

Running 2 RX580. Swap page is 40GB.

What to do?

You could try installing AIO Runtimes - that has been a fix reported by others with the same error message. I don't remember which specific one is needed for the miner, but it won't hurt to install any that you don't already have.

Now the money is free, and so the people will be
I'd love to try it out with my fury but it recently died for no good reason and will now go to RMA heaven with all the other victims of mining exploitation.  At least mine was...ah who am I kidding, even at -96mv I worked it to death.  Get a killawatt.  See what you are using for power and see if its worth the extra 10%.

Maybe this is the issue, but I'm running mkxminer 3.0.1 under the multi mining pool wrapper and it was working last night. Today however the wrapper starts up and mkxminer just immediately closes. I've tried different intensities and --asm.  I can't even find a log to find out what's going wrong. The only thing different from last night when it was working was I restarted my computer because it's been on for 3 days straight.

Fury X @ stock clock and voltage. 18.1.1 driver w/ compute mode. Windows 10.

Copy and paste log from example.cmd edited for privacy.

Whats wrong with Adrenalin Edition 18.1.1 ?

Since I use this card for things besides mining at times I don't wanna lose the HBM overclock.
That's why I haven't kept up too well with drivers, btw the bios signature checks in newer drivers are only making trouble on Polaris not Fiji right?
I only tried the 16.x.x versions since they are most often advertised as the most compatible for certain mining programs I guess.
I can test the newest drivers out today and report back what they do performance wise.

I'm curious if compute/graphics workload selection works for Fury too

That could bring you some more performance

So I did some quick testing and oh man does it not like compute mode ...idk if this is because my card is not a real Fury X ...but it crashed on load asap.  Even crashed a couple of times when I tried to get it out of Compute mode again.
And unfortunately other miners seem to flat out not work on 18.1.1 so I am probably rolling back the drivers.
One interesting thing to note though is that this time it let me set Intensities of 23 and 24 (25 straight up crashes the whole system not just the driver). The hashrate seems to dip more sometimes but generally it get's up to ~50 much faster. I didn't let it run long enough to see how it affected maxmium hashrates though....to loud and too toasty for me and it takes quite some time to tick up the last few Mh I suppose.
So having it run longer might get me over 50 (as OP said it takes some time to get the actual hashrate), but with standard No-OC options it draws around 280W+, fans are at 60% and temps are 68° - not ideal at least for me.
Over/Underclocking seemed to be way more finicky than on other drivers but it seemed like the loss of HBM OC did not really affect performance.
Just playing around I also seem to get it working with a -40% power limit so now it draws ~185W on average with the clock hovering around 930ish Mhz - the hashrate if it is to be trusted says ~45Mh/s after about 5 minutes. So I guess I pretty much have a R9 Nano with better cooling now?
But I need to do further testing to see if it is stable. Temps and fans are way lower much to my liking and it seems like it should have about the same profit/watt compared to mining equihash.

Hey,

I just tried this miner and I am very impressed. I have a Sapphire Fury Trix (4096SP) it runs at 1020Mhz with -60mV @~55°C. I get about 48-49 ish MH/s it started slowly creeping towards 50 thought.
I ran version 3.0.1 of the miner with 16.3.2 drivers.
Some things I noticed:

  • As mentioned before make sure you have the x64 AND x86 version of the Visual C++ Redistributable package installed - I had pretty much all other versions (2015, 2017, x64, x86) but it only works with the 2013 one
  • Doesn't seem to work on 15.12 drivers, went over to 16.10.3 which got the power limit working but was rather unstable, couldn't get it to run with -20mV even. Try the 16.3.2 Version this worked well for me (-60mV). On that note I wonder what other Fury owners get hashrate wise especially with newer drivers - maybe it's just my card
  • Never play with MSI afterburner and AMD Overdrive/Wattman at the same time....apart from weird graphic glitches it disabled the automatic fan control and set it to 20% resulting in a rather toasty 74+°C card
  • Intensity 23 did not work for me, 22 was the maximum, asm was turned on though - maybe that's why my hashrate was a bit lower, then again I have a Fury "X" so who knows

It's an awesome miner and I am happy cause it shows what even older AMD cards can do compared to Nvidias Pascal lineup. However, the powerdraw of 250W+ and heat and with that fan noise made me switch back to equihash again. My setup is pretty much a workstation with a miner running if I don't use it and for that it is simply too loud. It's about 20% more profitable than the alternatives for sure but for ME the drawbacks are too much to bear.

Lastly, I got a more general question regarding Fury undervolting and AMD drivers. Because I really really struggled getting any of the 16.x.x version to play nicely even on other algos. I got it running now on 15.12 with -100mV no problem on 16.10.3 it would glitch or crash on the desktop with -30mV and 16.3.2 was "stable" with -60mV but that was it's limit no matter the algo.
Is that "normal" behaviour? How are your cards doing regarding different drivers and voltages?

AWESOME MINER, winmkx.

I do not reach 39... but 37.5MH/s per card. Im very satisfied tho, very stable, excellent.
Altough i think you can reach the 39 with my Bios, just play with the powertune and intensity options.

I always see if i can keep the cards at around 60°, wich is the case here.
If you care less about heat or powerdraw.. change the -powertune option to +10 instead of -5...

My Setup:

2x Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 4GB (Elpida)
Beta Blockchain Drivers August
mkxMiner 3.0.1 (settings attached below)
Custom Bios (attached below)

Launch Params

Code:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

start "mkxMiner // XVG Verge-Lyra2REv2" mkxminer.exe --asm -o stratum+tcp://xvg-lyra.suprnova.cc:2595 -u LOGIN.WORKER -p x -I 23 --powertune -5,-5

Hello winmkx!
Which drivers are recommended for RX480? I have now 17.12.2. The videocard produces a maximum of 32MH. Will there be optimization of the miner to raise the hashrate or is it already redistribution?

Hello dear members of this topic and developer too.

I have been facing the same problem with the miner for 4 days already.

Right after miner start, I got the message with 0xc000007b error.

Whatever I did - installed x86 compatible package (I have W10 x64), reinstalled AMD drivers (both blockchain and common), installed AIO programm - nothing helps me.

I have been in mining for more than a year, I worked with almost all miners, but here... this error freaks me out. I beg you, please help me to make my new Sapphire Fury X gpus working.

Config: 1x RX570, 4x Fury X

I tried to launch the system w/o RX 570 - same result

P.S.: I also noticed a guy who didn't reach 55 MH/s hashrate with Fury X. Any opinions on that? Actually, I purchased these GPUs to work with this miner only.

Thank you,

my VM or Pagefile is 55Giga!! Im sure that is ok or??

About "I=23", of course I can try also the --asm, but allready i coming the "window" with the .exe ERROR!!

But I try and try Smiley

Greetings
Luisa

Dont forget, I have 2 times the same rig with the same config/values....in one is working with 55Giga VM, and the other ones in coming this error Sad
Then raisers and swapping power contacts. May be problem in 1 card (slot, raiser, power, card).
Another algorithms is working?
Try with a single card (-d 0 or -d 1 and so one) and I=21 without --asm to start.
I had a similar problem on my daughter's computer (470 card). In the beginning everything worked fine, but then it stopped - the miner did not start, the window appeared with an error, nothing helped. I switched on another algorithm (equihash) and forgot. In a few hours the computer just hung, but after rebooting - the miner (v3.00) started to run again and now v3.01 is working also.
Im sorry, Luisa, I have no more advices. Sad

Hi guys,
everytime when i start the .cmd then I have the windows error (window goes open)

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 1
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100

I try also with --platform 0, but not working!
I have 2 times the same rig with 7 rx580 cars, and is working for the one rig, but not the second one! (both really SAME!!)

Error: mkminer.exe error, (0xc000007b)
then i need to press OK....
I cant understand ...because in the one rig is working perfect!
Im using the Latest version 3.0.1 Windows!
Any ideas guys?
Thank so much for help

EDIT: The working rig with R580 8giga makes only 32MH/s....is this normal?--> also here some ideas?

Luisa, please, try advice in post N351. I think you need big pagefile for 7 cards.
I have 38MH/s from each 580. "-I 23" not working for me.
