Using this miner, power consumption is huge. I will stick to the monero mining.

In all fairness, nearly every algorithm out there uses more power then cryptonight.

I'd like to be able to use this with my local node or at least one in Canada, but it keeps citing a stratum error. These are nodes that work fine in sgminer. I guess I'll have to wait for Nextminer. :/

 Pool stratum auth error: {
   "data": null,
   "code": -32601,
   "message": "Service not found"

Supposedly 3.0.1 fixed that to support p2pool, but apparently not on linux build. I haven't tried windows.

Use the following for a stable system.  I have 4 GTX-1080's and 4 RX-5xx running on one motherboard that can do 13 pice total.

[Power->Watts]
1380 -  1440

[Nvidia Windows, Device Manager]
23.21.13.9077

[Geforce Version, Nvidia]
390.77

[AMD Windows, Device Manager]
22.19.659.0

[AMD Setting->Software]
AMD Beta: 17.30.1029-170808a2-317304

[Hashrate]
220 - 350 Mh/s

PS: GTX's are far better per watt and there is where the improvements should be.

drivers are crashing if i leave asm param in the batch file what can i do to fix this?
RX 580 8GB card with latest drivers and Win 8 with latest update

turn off compute in wattman or run blockchain drivers
What does compute do then? Does it just allow you to run more than 8 cards? Because if you can get better performance not running on compute I'd like to know.

I believe it just does some memory optimization (ETH) turning it off will let you run the asm core without crashing and with lyra2rev2 has no effect on speed vs using the blockchain driver.

I can't seem to get mkxminer to work with my local node. It says connected and then after a few minutes it un-connects.

These are my settings. Is something wrong or missing?

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

mkxminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://localhost:9181 -u My Wallet -p My Password -I 22

I just checked and isn't this setting for setting up your own node. If your new to mining then you should try to get a feel for mining by connecting to someone else's pool.

Correct, I'm not new to mining. Also I used One-click Miner to setup my node and it works fine albeit slow with sgminer.

I would think you would get decent results using some pool like suprnova for mining vertcoin, monacoin, or verge coin. I just read a little about it (one click) and I'm not crazy over simplified miner solutions. I use my own miner or I use nicehash legacy miner.

You need to run the Blockchain driver for ASM support.

drop mem down to 1400 or so, undervolt it. my 4gb rx580's get 39-40 at 1400mhz core, 1400mhz mem. undervolted to 1075 on core, 850 on mem. about 125-130 watts. My 570 will only run up to about 1300 mhz at +50% power. If you use overdriventool copy the fastest core state and voltage to everything but slot 1 and 2.

Did you go below 1075 on the RX570's with 1300 clock? I'm going to do some testing tonight to get this stable...

Yes, 1300 and 1075 worked for me, I had to undervolt the memory and drop the mem clock down to 1400 though. I get around 35-37 on my 570.

My cards seem to get too hot at that clock... I almost hit 90 on two of them. I might need to dial it back I'm thinking...

there is no problem with the miner. In the batch file there is tls or tcp parameters which can affect your miner tremendously. with my 3 570s and a single 580 I'm getting between 25-27 mhs. The question is what pool are you mining and what settings are you using in the miner? I didn't use the asm option because my pool didn't support it. I didn't use the TLS option because my pool didn't use it. My biggest problem with using amd cards in general are the buggy drivers that constantly change my settings (in wattman) especially when I'm mining nicehash. The only setting that stays stable for me is the -15% power setting and the temp setting. everything else tends to get wonky.

Hey peeps, I built a 3 card gpu mining rig with an r9 270, r9 390, rx 480, Ive been trying to mine monacoin using the mkx lyra2rev miner with windows 10 but Ive been having so many problems that I started to mine other coins that are cryptonight since I dont seem to have many problems with that,

now before I built this 3 gpu rig I was just using the r9 270 with the mkxminer on windows 10 and I had 0 problems, I was getting 14mh steady and up to 16mh if I pushed it, now that I added all 3 gpus  I can barely get it to run for more than a few minutes without it crashing, no overcloaking, for the few minutes that it does run I get about half the mhs I do when I run them solo, I tested all cards by them selves and the rx 480 gets 28-30mhs and the r9 390 26-31mh and the r9 270 14-16mh, but as soon as I add all 3 together I get nothing but problems, they all get really hot super and if I crank up the fans to 100% the stay cool but it all still crashes, Ive tested both windows 7 and windows 10 with the same results, any help or suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks in advance

Are these GPUs all in the same closed case? That could be creating an issue with overheating that you may not have with Cryptonight (since it's allot less intensive on the GPUs). As for crashing and lower hashrate, have you tried increasing the virtual memory size (page file) to equal that of your combined VRAM plus a bit extra?

hey thanks for the reply, all the gpus are in an open air rig by an open window with an extra fan on them, its really crazy My xfx rx 480 goes straight to about 76 degrees c, I can get the temp down to around 68c if I under volt to around -80 to -99 but its not stable and another thing is that the temps on all 3 gpus show wild fluctuations from 40c to 78c, just constantly fluctuating, Ive uped the vmem and have tried everything I can think of, I am reading on these forums and it seems that lots of people are having issues with this miner, I just cant seem to figure out what the deal is and I guess until then Ill be using other miners, thanks again
