Life, Love and Laughter...
Loving the matches this weekend...  PFL up first at 1:00pm ET followed by the UFC at 4:00pm ET.  Aaahh perfect time to be an MMA fan.  If these events over lap I'll be watching them both side by side.  Cheesy Cheesy  Can't wait to see Ngannou back in the cage again after his two stints at boxing.

And from the looks of it at the face offs, I'm guessing it's gonna be over at R1.  Lolol.  Ngannou via brutal KO at R1.  That's around 2.30 but that's the only way to go with this.  I guess R2 KO at 4.80 is value.

Only one day to go. Weight ins for the event have just finished:

I watched face-offs and those two Ngannou and Ferriera looked angry and scary
This is going to be one of the best PFL fight cards in history, and I am skipping ufc this weekend.

Bookies are giving Renan a bit more chances than before, but he's still the underdog.
Everyone expects the fight to end by KO and betting on it going to distance you could get a payout of x8.0, and I can envision a scenario of that happening, i.e. if Ngannou is dominant in his striking, it could force Ferreira to take it to the ground, but it won't be easy to keep him there or submit him.
Ngannou is better fighter and most experts would say that, but I am not sure if he is going to have good comeback in MMA after losing his kid.
Maybe that motivates him to perform better, but I dont think this fight is going to distance.

I think he is big favorite against Ferreira and he should win this fight in his MMA comeback.
I am expecting to see great heavyweight fight and good efforts from both fighters, they both only lost 3 fights in their carriers.
This fight card should not be missed if you are MMA fan, there are many great fights to see.

It was not a friendly face-off, Ferreira was more fired-up but both looked confident and well-prepared. Francis usually has a size advantage, but not this time. The height and reach advantage is on Ferreira's side, but in terms of weight Renan is only 4.7 pounds heavier, which is nothing in the heavyweight category.

I've seen Ngannou mentioned in the boxing thread and googled for his next fight to discover it's only 10 days away from now. I almost forgot that Francis Ngannou exists, I've seen zero info on that fight in my feeds. Is it just me or is it massively under-hyped?

Anyhow, Francis is a big favourite, with x1.34 odds, while Ferreira is x3.25. I don't know much about Ferreira, but have seen some highlights of his fights, and think Ngannou could struggle. Not because Ferreira being that good, but because of Francis not having any MMA fight for almost 3 years now, and because of Ferreira's slight size advantage - he's taller and likely will be heavier.

How do you see that fight playing out?

To make him live at home, he needs his whole family and team to retire from fighting Cheesy The explanation of his absence at home might be explained, that he helps everyone he is close with to prepare for the fight, as well as simply be a motivational factor. But you might be right also, it is impossible to spend so much time not home, when you have a wife and children, with a reason "helping my bros to become champs".

P.S. Recent video in instagram - that is definitely somewhere in Dagestan. That mini football field was in videos about him and is located not far from their family gym.

Media say that he has paid all the debts, but somehow it is all looked strange. It was announced loud that he has troubles, and now media is very silent or give a really minimum info that he has paid all the debts.
I dont know the whole situation but if everything was fine than he would be living at his home, not in some foreign country.
He is posting updates on his youtube channel, training camp with his cousin Usman Nurmagomedov.
In last video he talked how much hard sport MMA is: https://youtu.be/B2gzZvpJHLc

Eagle FC wasnt much like alive before Khabib had problems Cheesy From media on Russian, I have found that the roots of his problems is the travelling company he has invested in had troubles with bookkeeping. They tried to cheat balances and other stuff. Since among all company owners, Khabib was the most wealthy, authorities tried to charge everything from him. That all lead to investigation and even more problems from fake, cheated or incorrectly formed due to lack of experience company balances. It is never stated that everything is confiscated, but he had "a ban on use has been imposed" (dont know how translate correctly, that is just free translation from Russian). He owns, but cant use Grin

Did he really escaped? From what I have read, he had a +3 million bucks tax debt, but with help of attorneys and bookkeepers, managed to decrease it to ~860k and has fully repaid it. But it is really hard to understand if he has left Russia for ever, because all we see is his social media pictures, and he travels here and there all the time. I have seen info that he tried to apply for UEA passport, but this seems to be rumours only. With friends like Putin, Kadyrov and other rich people, I dont think his "problems" are as big as people think and unsolvable.
Try asking him what happened, he is not speaking anything about that in public Grin
I know he cant come back in Dagestan now, his club gym and all his assets were confiscated from him.
He had MMA organization Eagle Fighting Championship and that is dead now.

I know that Usman dominated and won the fight and I watched his post fight interview with his cousin Khabib Nurmagomedov.
This is the first time that he spoke in front of the cameras after long time, and after escaping Russia and moving to different country.
Bellator needs to arrange super fight for Usman with fighters from different organizations, but he wants to fight with AJ McKee next.

Hey notblox1, have you watch Usman Nurmagomedov vs Alexander Shabliy fight? Even though a lot of people expected it, it was just average. I think it might be because Shabliy has burned; he had to come through 2 camps since January, as their fights planned fight was cancelled due to Usmans injury. Dont know what Shabliy was thinking and what tactics his team has chosen, but he was very passive in that fight.

I have totally forgotten about this event. Just found a reminded in instagram and was amazed how huge Ferreira is. https://www.instagram.com/p/C_ED_uqN0Ku/?igsh=MWMxNGNpcWhocW52NQ== Have a look. Ngannou aint small himself, but next to Ferreira he looks like he is one division smaller. It looks that it aint going to be easy for Ngannou to return.

PFL 9 is starting in few hours with competition to win $1 million, but real news is press conference for PFL Battle of the Giants.
Jake Paul was a host and main super fight Ngannou vs Ferreira is scheduled for October 19.
It is going to be interesting to see how Ngannou comes back in octagon after tragedy with his son, and break from MMA.

P.S. Where Ante Delija? I think many expected him to be first to face Ngannou.
I think he is still in medical recovery after suffering heavy KO defeat from Valentin Moldavsky few months ago.
He is a very good fighter but I dont think he would stand a chance against Ngannou at this time.
I am sure we are going to see him back in octagon maybe few months from now.

Some years ago, I would definitely choose Ngannou as my favourite in this fight. Today, I will give Ferreira more chances to win. While Ngannou had boxing fights, had rest, cleared his head after loosing his child, Ferreira was fighting, gaining experience and confidence (to put on a scale against charisma and popularity of Ngannou). A long pause is never good for a top athlete.

P.S. Where Ante Delija? I think many expected him to be first to face Ngannou.
