Hello the
I would be very thankful if you can mod this factory bios for a XFX RX580 XXX GTS 4 gb, Hynix-Elpida memory.
I also got some for Sapphire Nitro+ Rx470 4 gb, Hynix memory, if you got time Smiley

Thank you very much!

all 8gb samsung memory the 4gb is hynix

That's what I needed to know, mostly...

not sure if you need anything else so let me know if you need any other info. thanks

Just some free time on my windows rig, not sure if you can help with that.

EDIT:

See if these work or not. FYI you'll need pixel patcher under windows to bypass driver signature checking.

its no rush and i greatly appreciate it.
I can upload the stock bios from the 8gb and 4gb cards if u you need them

Yes, if you could upload the BIOS' or provide more information about what specific version of the cards you have.

OK I've been birthing a new rig based solely on my most crappiest parts, I've got my 6x PowerColor RX560-4G together. I had 7 but the one that ran at 85C stock is dead.

I've had luck stabilizing the modded BIOS by tweeking the --gpu-memclock in the miner like another user suggested, and suddenly they're performing like good cards. I can turn the fans down a bit too now.

It's interesting how the cards only perform when the VRM is clocked to 2250 even with the memory running much slower. It's like the VRM is a 3rd independent unit in addition to the GPU and VRAM. It's weird none of the mining applications or any other applications seem to consider this functionality. I can only program it in the BIOS even though there should be a --gpu-vrmclock setting to exploit.

I'll set the memclock speed in the BIOS way down low in any future BIOS I make, This should completely eliminate the issue I've been having with a few lower grade cards producing errors as well this should produce a wattage drop without any loss in hashing power. In fact I've noticed a few % increase in speed due to the memory not continuously choking.

could i get some help with modifying some xfx rx480 8gb ?  running at 22h/s on dagger and 707h/s on cryptonight and 280 with equihash
i also have some xfx rx 480 4gb running even worse at 19h/s dagger 560 cryptonight and 250 equihash. i would really appreciate any help

I have to re-do a few cards due to some HW errors, I'll make a couple xfx bios' while I'm at it. Maybe later today if I have time.

Thanks a lot for the updated mod, notbatman.

i confirm that RX570 4GB HYNIX is giving around 800HS XMR with 111W power of wall . i am running it with -95mv though, in addition to the default mod settings you shared.   Earlier max i used to get was  750HS @ 120W of wall.

I think this is the best 4GB can do. I didnt get a lot of time to test but trying with XMR. would keep you and all in forum informed.

Again, Many thanks for taking time to help me out.

Maybe some day I'll find a 570/580 card with 2250 ram...  but today is not the day. I've noticed the mfg. only put 2000 ram in all the 4gb cards, they save it all for the 8gb cards it seems??

I think none uses 2250 yet...RX570s and 4GB RX580s use 1750, and RX580/8GB use 2000

8GB cards with Hynix go to 2250.

For example this Sapphire Nitro+ Limited Edition RX580-8GB has 2250 Hynix:

   https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/191263/sapphire-rx580-8192-170320-1

No, they have STRAPS for 2250, doesn't mean chips inside are 2250 rated...my RX560 Gigabyte cards have 2250 straps too,
card works at 1750, and its already factory OC-ed because chips on board are 1500MHz ones

Even link you posted clearly states "Memory Clock:    2000 MHz"

Yeah I've got some powercolor rx560's with 2250 hynix, 4 out of 7 cards will actually run at 2250, 2 run at 2000 and 1 on the stock bios at 1750 @ 84C. These are horrific cards I had to get a b250 board just to run them and it's not happy... the console is tottaly scrambled with pcie errors.

In any case who cares what the card is rated for, if it runs at 2250 without HW errors you're good to go. If it's got hynix with 2250 straps chances are you'll be able to run it at that especially with core underclock and core/mem undervolt.

As for the link I posted the clock is at 2000 because of the Samsung option, you can set the VRM to run the mem at 2250 if you have Hynix ram.

You can set Samsung to run at 2250 too...often easier than Hynix...I have EXACTLY the same Gigabyte RX560, some with Hynix and some with micron memory...micron has
straps only up to 2000 and happily mining at 2230MHz, while Hynix has 2250 straps and barely reaches 2050 MHz with default straps, and about 1950 with modified

2250 straps are there just for convenience, but what determines how high they'll clock is R0C, R2C or R4C mark on chips, meaning 1500, 1750 and 2000 rating

(and, of course, coolong solution, plus silicon lottery luck)

Thanks for helping with the mod , Notbatman.

I may be doing something wrong though , with 1100\2000 in AB , i am only getting 23Hs avg per card.
The Watt usage has dropped significantly though, which is absolutely wonderful.

Anything you would suggest I should do.
i downloaded the file from pastebin, unzipped using 7Z , used powershell to mod all cards (6) , rebooted.

Do you think, i should do a DDU and do a fresh install of everything?

Thank you once again for being kind and helping me out.

Yeah get rid of anything that changes any card settings like afterburner or miner command line options that set core and mem speed; everything is set for mining in the bios.

They go to...but they're not rated for that frequency, just happen to work at it.

Absolute champ is Micron rated at 1750 that work at 2230

Real 2250 memory would probably oc to 2400-2500 or even higher
