I have saphire nitro 470 4gb cards (mining edition) with samsung memory. Any on modifying the bios? Should I just copy the 1500 straps all the way, or?

Thanks

I'm not biased, just saw many times people who didn't hear about fidonet or even news groups,
get confused with your pastebin links Cheesy

this card came from lazada:
http://www.lazada.com.ph/gigabyte-aorus-radeon-rx580-8g-videographics-card-gv-rx580aorus-8gd-19765677.html?spm=a2o4l.search.0.0.f8f0e08Qp9IRi&ff=1

I also tried this card on a standard desktop, amd a8 processor, gigabyte board, no other pcie gpu, clean install win10pro + latest amd drivers.
It works stable for gaming at 1080p but was running hot(75C) and I believe consuming too much power.

anyways, thanks again.

I will probably sell this, you want to take it off my hands for 1eth?
need to check though how much cost to ship to your place.

...[clip]...
No change in hashrate: 24.7Mh/s
Slight drop in power use from 71.5w to 70w according to gpuz
...[clip]...
did you also use pbe 1.6.2?
...[clip]...
can you share what else you changed?

Yeah, PBE is one of the apps I use. I forced the memory to run at 2250. I can't do any more for you without having the card in hand, I suspect the factors limiting your hash rate are related to system hardware, mining software or video drivers.

BTW where did you get this card from?

Hi notbatman.

Thank you for the modified bios and giving me the benefit of the doubt that this sucky card exists.

I was able to download the bios you posted on pastebin saving it as a uue file.
I used winzip to extract it as 7zip complained about errors opening you uue file.
I extracted the 7z file and opened that with 7zip.

I was able to extract the bios rom you provided.
Before flashing, I first reset to default settings on AB and Trixx and flashed with atiflash.
I then did full shutdown and cut power to the rig.
Rebooting, I again reset defaults with AB and Trixx.
core clock now defaults to 900 and mem clock defaults to 2250.
I tried applying undervolt via Trixx but its not working.

Result:
No change in hashrate: 24.7Mh/s
Slight drop in power use from 71.5w to 70w according to gpuz
Lots of memory errors according to hwinfo. more than 50k in 3 minutes.

did you also use pbe 1.6.2?
the bios rom you provided uses the same timings as my current modified bios.
as far as I can tell, mem voltage was dropped to 880 from 1000 default.
max gpu freq was dropped to 1100 from 2000 default.
can you share what else you changed?

^^^ UUE is supported by almost all major archivers, I can't help any archive format biased individuals or groups.

Quote
A UUE file is a file encoded with uuencode, a Unix program that converts binary files to a text format. It stores the encoded textual representation of a binary file and must first be decoded to open the original file. UUE files are commonly used for emailing documents so the file does not become corrupted.

"UUE" stands for "Unix to Unix Encoding." It is most often used to transfer files between Unix-based systems. UUE files can be decoded to the original binary file with uudecode, or another UUE decoding utility.

I hope you're not just pulling my leg with a hoax BIOS, I still can't believe this is a real card...

In any case I modded the BIOS so here it is: RX580_SN085_MINING_BIOS.rom

** WARNING **
UNTESTED BIOS

note:

Test XMR with sgminer-gm 5.5.5 or gatelessgate v0.1.3.pre6, claymore is still working out some bugs... The ETH/DCR miner is very stable however.

You killed thread again with UUE encoding Cheesy

I still need help with my poorly performing Aorus rx580 8g hynix card

Here is gpuz info:
http://oi66.tinypic.com/2hefzok.jpg

Original bios loaded into PBEv1.6.2:
http://oi66.tinypic.com/2cz5vrk.jpg

Actual original bios file:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8S6GVg5txr5ZngzLS1WeTM1dE0/view

Hardware: Intel G3930, asrock fatal1ty gaming k4, 4GB DDR4, 4x1060,2x1070, 1xpciex1-4xpciex1 expander
OS: fully patched win10 pro
drivers:latest amd block chain drivers+atikmdag patch and latest nvidia drivers.
utilities: MSI AB beta 19 and sapphire trixx

Current modified bios using one click timing patch and reduced memory voltage:
http://oi63.tinypic.com/2kg09x.jpg

Current performance with claymore10:
http://oi64.tinypic.com/mvrgpj.jpg

current observed behavior:
when core clock is increased to 1000 and core voltage is offset down to 925mV(anything lower hangs)
hashrate becomes 27MH/s which is still below expected 29-30MH/s and temps become uncontrollable and eventually climbs to 79C even with fans at 80%

when mem clock is increased to 2040 at either 1000mv or 900mv, the system hangs as soon as mining starts.

I hope you guys can help me. Let me know if any details are still missing.

thank you in advance notbatman, I hope things work out.

i will let it mine for you for 3 days as a thank you if we can get it to run at least 29MH/s at cool temps and reasonable power.

will PM you for your eth address.

OK I'll mod that 8gb gigabyte stock bios in a bit, I'll set it to run at 2250 but there's a chance you'll get hardware errors at that speed. That being the case I'll post a 2000 version as well.

If you're lucky and it runs at 2250 you should get 34 Mh eth and 900 H xmr.
What timing that can get your memory run at 2250? Loose or Tight timing? Mine can only run at max 2100 though it get around 1025 h/s for xmr, but suck at eth.

^^^ Powercolor rx560-4gb mining OEM, nothing but problems... they're dirt cheap though. They should be almost identical to the red dragon.

Crazy...they made mining version of rx560...must be dirt cheap to consider it Smiley
