This is a story where a mom thought she won 5000$ in a lottery (which was already a big amount) but later discovered that she won 50,000$. That is indeed one of the best things in her life and it just changed her life.
,
This is the kind of surprise that everyone wants to receive, imagine thinking that you only won $5000 and then later finding out that it's $50000 a ten times jump from what you expected, if I won this $5k in our country it is enough to set up a store but $50k is enough to set up grocery here in our country

Quote
Most of us spend our whole lives participating and thinking that one day, we will win the big lottery but it seems an impossible thing. However, when we see other people's winning and changing their lifestyle, the hope of winning among us keeps alive.

I'm a regular bettor of the lottery and my motivation like all the other bettors is to hit that big jackpot I only need to win once to change everything in my life, in fact I already know what to do with my winning how should I spend it and what kind of business to set up and how to protect my money from lavish spending, like the lady in the article, winners should have a detailed plan on what to do, they should not play to buy what they want but what they need and what they need to do to protect their money so it can still last until the next generation.
As along as the lottery company is transparent and their integrity intact and bettors see that there are real winners, bettors like me will continue betting.

it is certain that sometime and then someone has to win "big amount" otherwise who would want to continue playing gambling? Roll Eyes
But you need to check the real winning statistics/numbers of game played.
you would realize that it is nothing exceptional and yes... it can happen to anyone to get a big win like that Smiley

It's a great news, congratulations to her for the win. The joy of every gambler is playing and hoping to win a big amount of money in the future. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel thou it might not be all cases, but when the victory comes you count it as your lucky day. $50k is not a small money emagine thinking it was a $5k win and you later noticed it was $50k I will just go gaga.

Good for her, and according to the article,

Good for her children too  Wink I would say that she is indeed very lucky.

So she is not a gambler per se, and really looking for long term effect of her winning as he is going to invest that money and make it grow. And that's what others should do, however, this is luck on her side so we understand where she is coming from. But for us regular gamblers, maybe if we won this big, the next day we will be on the casino and playing some of it for sure. Anyhow, Let's keep our fingers crossed, maybe one of this days we will be a lottery winning and a huge windfall is coming our way.

How strange is it that the regular gamblers waiting to win big get nothing special and she, who is not a regular gambler, get on one of the biggest lotteries and that will surely bring happiness in her life? Also since she is not a regular gambler, she will keep money out of gambling and hence the chances of losing the winning amount also decreases.   Wink

Putting some joke on gambling.

The real ones who are winning the lottery is (IRS) getting 30% from the jackpot. I guess the mom getting around 30K+ after taxes these winning, well it's life-changing for some person but still sucks to see gambling getting taxed.

From my perspective these amount are not really life-changing especially people who cannot growing their winning, since we all know how economy is America. But it's just helping him for his financial needed in couple years 1-3 years.

Every time there's a winner in a lottery and it happens to be a big amount, people are inspired to bet, which is why betting in a lottery is very popular in our country, we are living in a third-world country, and the lottery is their hope to get out of the rat race of trying to meet their ends, and they are tempted to bet because of the announcement of winners, and the amount of money to be won, people in our country do not think of the impossible as long as they see people winning and they believe that the lottery is very transparent in their drawing.

The woman in the article knows what to do with his winning he is matured enough to understand how money coming from big wins should be spent
Quote
When asked about her plans for the hefty sum, the woman said that she anticipates discussing different options with financial experts. “We’re going to talk to our CPA and my investment specialist,” said Pruitt, adding that she wants to invest the money rather than blowing it away.

Every winner of the lottery should have that kind of thinking because if you blow it away on too much spending you'll find yourself losing everything and regret it.

I like this story. It is more than good news, it is a fantastic news.

But the story doesn't just end there. Here's more interesting things from the story of the woman.

  • In the lottery game, the players try to complete words in a puzzle with preset letters. She does them for fun. Apparently, she uses money she can afford to lose.
  • She plans on investing the money rather than using it to buy more lottery tickets or blowing it away.

We should learn from her.

Even if you have hope of winning the lottery someday just like her, use money that you can afford to lose on buying the tickets. And have a plan for how you'll spend the money eventually when you win.

Winning big money from lottery is what people's wants and that's why many people still buying many lotteries because they want to be the winner. We don't knows how long she buy lottery until she win big money but without luck, she can't wins that money.

Lottery like that is a game full of luck so if you are not lucky then you will never win it, let's just say the comparison is that you have no more than a 1% chance of winning the lottery, so don't expect to win the lottery with a big prize like that So I think Mom is really very lucky so there's no need to see it as a reference for us to continue buying the lottery because we can't analyze this game and we also can't predict how to win it because this game relies 100% on luck.

I usually when I see someone win a lottery like this just congratulate them, don't have to hunt and buy a lottery like them in the hope of getting the same luck as them, luck can't be bought let alone predicted unless we are really lucky at that time. lottery, I thought it was her lucky day, it could be a coincidence that the mother really needed the money for her life or she was used to gambling with the lottery compared to other gambling. I prefer other types of gambling that don't expect a lot of luck like lottery gambling, so even if I win less, it doesn't matter as long as it's consistent.  Wink

Congratulations to her. $50000 is not a small amount of money. If I win this kind of money, I will quit gambling and just focus on business. It is not that I use gambling as business. I play games with small amount of money and I only go for casinos games and sport betting with small odds and not determine to win big amount like this. But it is exciting to read something like this. Congratulations to her again.

Yes definitely! $5000 will go a long way especially that I live in a third-world country where resources are relatively expensive due to the minimum wage laws of our country.

$50,000 can give you a decent condominium unit which can definitely alleviate majority of your expenses. Given that the minimum wage in the country is $10-$12/day, $50,000 can somehow be a life-changing moment to some people that can push them away from poverty.

Everyone wants to win like this. But not everyone will be lucky in gambling. Those who give up gambling cannot expect to win from gambling. A gambler must try. If he tries his best, he may or may not get lucky at some point. The person who won such a big win never thought that he would win from gambling. He tried and continued gambling. It's not a bad idea to try to get lucky if you can keep the amount you can lose in the bet within control. He will definitely get a chance to live a better life. The incident you shared was even more exciting. $5000 may have been a good amount for the lucky winner but it's anyone's guess what level of joy she must have gone to when she found out that she had won not $5000 but $50000.

Only a few people can reach this kind of luck even if everyone hopes that they may soon experience this. This is what makes gambling dangerous- it gives you hope of seeing the other side (assuming that you've won) but it may be seemingly impossible, yet simple.

I'm very happy for her, it's one in a million chance to win big in lottery, many people will keep buying lottery tickets till they get old and never win anything substantial, lottery should depend on %100 luck to win, whether it's small amount or the jackpot, unless if there's a way that the lottery companies manipulates wins.

I hope that she invests a large potion of the win in a profitable investment that'll be giving her ROI, so that she doesn't go broke in the next couple of years. I've heard stories of people who won big in gambling and in a few years they become broke, probably because they started living luxurious lifestyles immediately they their win, forgetting that money can finish. It pays to be financially educated.

Winning big in the lottery is like hitting the jackpot in life but you're right, some people go all out on a spending spree and end up back to square one in no time. Investing smartly will really help her since that's the real key to making that windfall last. Financial education is like the unsung hero here like knowing how to handle that sudden influx of cash is as important as winning it in the first place. Here's hoping she makes the right moves and keeps that good fortune rolling

If I were to hope to win in a lottery one time, I'd wish to win a million, as it's hard to win in the lottery twice...actually, it's even hard to win once. But like you guys, I'm also happy for her. You see, she even thought that she had only won $5k, which shows she isn't too greedy or desperate at all. But it turns out it's a $50k win. For a married woman with a child or children, this is already a big help. If utilized effectively, this could be used as a great start for investment. Whatever she can think of, it takes money to make money, right? So this is it for her.

Huge win, but not really a life-changing victory. Most of us play the lottery to win millions so it could change our lives, and we can retire early. I'm not saying that we should not be thankful for that kind of win, but I'm sure it will not fully satisfy us, and we will continue to chase those millions. Winning $50k is possible in other types of gambling too, probably easier than in the lottery, but I say the woman is lucky to win that big amount.

As I said, it's not life-changing, but if she knows how to grow that money, she can use it to start a business, and maybe she would not rely on luck anymore and might become a millionaire first from business than from the lottery.

Iowa Mom’s Lottery Win Goes from $5,000 to $50,000
The rate women are gambling is high, so with this progress of this woman that won this big amount, it amazing and this will bring more women gamblers to gamble. However any woman that's gambling should have a source of income so she won't depend on her husband for money to gamble. If the husband of this woman is a gambler he will also be happy for her progress on her stakes. Many women are trying to win an amazing amount that will change their lives for better. Both men and women are gambling hoping that one day they will win big and change their lives for good, I am also a fan of that, sometimes I imagine myself winning big amount. Congratulations to her.

Every gambler believes that one day they will win big which is also my confidence. Winning $50,000 with just $5 in a scratch-off game is a miracle. She was just a responsible gambler who does it for fun and this is a clear indication that it is not how hard you gamble but how lucky you are. Congratulations to Zondra Pruitt on her win and I hope she will put the money to good use. She intends to invest the money after consulting with financial experts.

Her story has some morals that I like which are put in the amount you can afford to lose in gambling, see the activity as a form of entertainment and when you win big seek financial advice and invest.

5K dollars is not a small capital to get 50k dollars.
The 57-year-old woman didn't bet with $5k, she did it with just $5. She would have turned a millionaire if she had risked it with $5k.

She is a very lucky mother. The probability of winning the lottery is very small, however it is not impossible to win even though the chance may be below 0.0001%. I'm not interested in buying the lottery because the odds are too small, but I'm happy to hear that someone can win. I once watched a youtube channel about someone who won the lottery around $1.5 million but ended up broke in just a few years, he wasn't ready to accept that much money and ended up spending his money just for fun, women and parties.

But because the person who won this lottery is a mother, hopefully she can manage her money and take advantage of the opportunities she gets to improve her economy and this money can increase by investing or starting a business.

And this is the very definition of luck, she never thought that it was just $5k, but fortunately, it's really $50k and it really feels good to hear such kind of stories. On the other hand, we wish we could be the person that can also experienced that big win one day.

$50k is really a big win, wherever you live and hopefully she will used that money in the right way and now fall for the trick of buying more lottery tickets and thinking that she can duplicate it again and again. Sometimes it will just take one big win either become addicted, or paved the way for your gambling habits, or just simply stop and thank God for you big win because that money will change your life for the better.
