Thanks guys!  I made a recent transfer and for some reason it was saying that I could only send 12 monero even tho the unlocked balance was much higher.  After a bit of time it did allow me to send more.

Smooth explained the reason (change transactions awaiting confirmation before returning to your usable wallet balance) in the post just preceding yours.

So for example lets say i have a balance of 1000.  I sent 300 successfully, however next time i attempt to send it says i can only send 12.8 moneros...  even tho that these are OLD coins.

Some of your coins may get "locked" after a transfer, but they should become available within a few minutes/blocks, I think.

Correct. For example:

1. You have one output that was sent to you for 1000 coins.
2. You spend 300 coins, using your 1000 coin output
3. 700 will be sent back to you as change, but that transfer will need to confirm like any other, so shown by the wallet as locked until it does.

I have noticed that i am unable to send despite having a positive balance

Code:
2014-Oct-11 17:07:39.328761 wallet2.h:372:struct tools::error::not_enough_money: not enough money, available = 12.838793661673, tx_amount = XXXX.000000000000, fee = 0.100000000000
2014-Oct-11 17:07:39.328761 Error: not enough money to transfer, available only 12.838793661673, transaction amount XXXX.000000000000, fee = 0.100000000000 (fee)

I have more than 12.8 avialable

I think the issue is that you're trying to transfer 12.8387 + a fee of 0.1 XMR. Did you try and transfer 12.7387...?

Monero (XMR) - secure, private, untraceable
October 02, 2014, 01:20:47 PM
^You could try to:
1) Move your binaries and wallets in a folder with no additional privileges needed (like C:\Monero)
2) Check if your wallet files are with read only attribute set

bit of a noob question,

- i always download the win64_latest and have the bitmonerod and simplewallet.exe files.
- i also have my wallet files (.bin, .keys, and another one i can't remember) for each "wallet".

1) i can run bitmonerod and sync. I can run "save" from bitmonerod and it saves the blockchain.

2) i then run simplewallet and load my wallet of choice. - no problems.

3) but i cannot "save" this wallet. so it scans and catches up from a previous block number (~180xxx from the last time saved) but when i enter "save" - an error message says "cannot save the wallet" or something similarly vague. so none of the update is saved. arghh

4) i can run the "save_bc" command from simplewallet and it saves the blockchain, but cannot run the "save" command.

What should i do ?

thanks

I need a little help please.

I sent coins form my wallet to mintpal yesterday and they never showed up.  Mintpal wallet is running today but no coins...

This is what my wallet showed when the coins were sent:

Height 232128, transaction , spent 0.600000000000
Height 232128, transaction , spent 0.500000000000
Height 232128, transaction , spent 0.500000000000

I sent it to this address 46aaTzGffy6MmCsY7rQ5CdSAbpPHPj5xkf7yDdfDZSs9YWWEvFhSSkjdr2veqC44q8dt3q1egrLdnZ3 oecB1JSMF856eDwb
and id  4919550fc0dac173fdc003d553441d110980d98de1cdd1cb243b684872ace941

using the command:

transfer 0 46aaTzGffy6MmCsY7rQ5CdSAbpPHPj5xkf7yDdfDZSs9YWWEvFhSSkjdr2veqC44q8dt3q1egrLdnZ3 oecB1JSMF856eDwb  1.6 4919550fc0dac173fdc003d553441d110980d98de1cdd1cb243b684872ace941

I have used that same command in the past without any issues.

Thanks

Most of the exchanges are holding deposits due to some security issues. You can possibly contact their support and have them do it manually -- I'm told that has worked in some cases.

Your transaction itself was processed and is confirmed in the blockchain (see below), which means Mintpal has your coins, and they should be credited to your account once they resume processing deposits.

https://minergate.com/blockchain/mro/transaction/e0fc1b019bdd2790492090472da1882345ca30f9d8ff9cd9fd0a83118d852f73

Thanks for your quick answer!  I will check with Mintpal right now.

update: Ok finally Mintpal credited my coins.  Thanks

If your transaction is not confirmed and you have a back up wallet, you can use that back up wallet to recover your coins.

I dont have backup I am sending coins almost every day to mintpal ...do I have different way to  recover my coins ...and what is problem there ...I send like I usually send every day

Do you have 24 words when you first created your wallet? You can use those words to recreate your wallet.

I dont have those words i lost screenshot and cant found it...do I have any another option to restore wallet

edit Smiley I found way to restore ...with deleting name of wallet .bin file and rescan from begining....
