I need a little help please.

I sent coins form my wallet to mintpal yesterday and they never showed up.  Mintpal wallet is running today but no coins...

This is what my wallet showed when the coins were sent:

Height 232128, transaction , spent 0.600000000000
Height 232128, transaction , spent 0.500000000000
Height 232128, transaction , spent 0.500000000000

I sent it to this address 46aaTzGffy6MmCsY7rQ5CdSAbpPHPj5xkf7yDdfDZSs9YWWEvFhSSkjdr2veqC44q8dt3q1egrLdnZ3 oecB1JSMF856eDwb
and id  4919550fc0dac173fdc003d553441d110980d98de1cdd1cb243b684872ace941

using the command:

transfer 0 46aaTzGffy6MmCsY7rQ5CdSAbpPHPj5xkf7yDdfDZSs9YWWEvFhSSkjdr2veqC44q8dt3q1egrLdnZ3 oecB1JSMF856eDwb  1.6 4919550fc0dac173fdc003d553441d110980d98de1cdd1cb243b684872ace941

I have used that same command in the past without any issues.

Thanks

Fair enough. I am relieved to know there's a good reason for what happened. I've heard of people using bitcoin accidentally giving away their balance as fees by not sending transactions correctly, and I just wanted to make sure this wouldn't happen when I'm holding 15 XMR and trying to send 1 XMR.

Thanks a lot.

I have had an issue regarding Monero TX fees. I had in my wallet, exactly 1.539246463904 XMR, and sent 1.4 XMR to an exchange. The resulting transaction is in the blockchain here:

https://minergate.com/blockchain/mro/transaction/6140829924b68547172fa16069a343632b6f653e8d04fb3b239b9edf55689eb6

Notice the three input transactions correctly total my wallet balance, and the two output transactions total the sent 1.4. What confuses me, is the remainder of my entire balance, turned into the transaction fee, 0.139246463904, leaving me with 0 XMR. I thought the network fee was 0.1 XMR, thus I would have expected one additional output, returning the change back to me.

I'm obviously haven't lost a lot here (0.039246463904 XMR) but I want to make sure I didn't make a mistake, which may result in me losing much more coin next time.

Dust (amounts less than 0.1) are burned off as fees, because they can not contribute to the anonymity set of outputs.

I can't download the blockchain from the link provided i OP, but when I delete my blockchain.bin file and resync, I end up with repeating errors such as the following:

SYNCHRONIZATION started
2014-Sep-16 19:43:47.427565 [P2P0][107.152.130.98:54232 INC]Sync data returned u
nknown top block: 221011 -> 202659 [18352 blocks (-12 days) ahead]

Can be ignored. Simply means that the identified peer is stuck on the fork from 12 days ago. It won't affect you and the peer will be disconnected soon after.

Is the 0.8.8.4 version mandatory?

No just recommended. 0.8.8.3+ is mandatory.

Monero (XMR) - secure, private, untraceable
September 15, 2014, 02:38:59 PM
Hi,
I'm trying to transfer XMR from my wallet to an exchange. I try the command: transfer 0 {my-address} {amount} {id}
I get the error: transaction fee is not enough: 0.000001000000, minumim fee: 0.100000000000.
The amount I'm trying to transfer is 0.5 XMR. I'm using versin 0.8.8.3.

What should I do?

thanks

Your fee is too small. Because of a recent attack on the Monero blockchain the fee was changed to 0.1 XMR per transaction. Soon the fee will be changed again to vary depending on the transaction size (in kb) and then your transaction will be cheaper (except if you want to mix your 0.5 XMR with 1000 other transactions). In order to send it with the current fee you should update your wallet and daemon software from here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/xmr-monero-a-secure-private-untraceable-cryptocurrency-583449, but you'll pay 20% fee for the 0.5 XMR transaction.
Please upgrade to 0.8.8.3 (fixes 202612 attack)

Also note that the fee will be changed "soon".

It will be determined by the KB size of the transaction not the amount of coins.  This will make the fee around 0.01 for most transactions.  Sending a transaction composed of many smaller previous transactions will cost more.  Again we will find out the details, soon.

When I have this problem, I just reduce the amount to be transferred. As the fee is at least 0.1 XMR, it is not worth transferring 0.5 XMR.

You missed the reference to the tides.  May I suggest you google it.  "Why do the tides go in and out? No one can explain that."
Are you this snarky in real life?

Well I guess if you are not from U.S. it is pretty obscure!  Smiley

However, it was entertaining viewing - Is that O'Reilly guy Sarah Palin's Old Man?  Roll Eyes

Why do you guys have so many different support topics and shill accounts here ?

Why do you have maxcoin in your signature? Why do the tides go in and out? No one can explain that.

i have MaxCoin in my sig because i support the coin and the tides go in and out because of the gravitational pull of the moon.
anything else you want to know ?

Maybe because he also supports XMR.

Nope. XMR hodling has no influence on the tides.

Why do you guys have so many different support topics and shill accounts here ?

Why do you feel the need to bump every single Monero thread, even ones that are months old?

We thank you for the extra exposure, but it isn't something we really need.

i only read the first couple pages here so your a lying sack of shit Monero cheerleader.
