a way to speedup is

monerod --out-peers 1 --p2p-bind-ip 127.0.0.1 --db-sync-mode fast:async:1000 --add-exclusive-node node.moneroworld.com

you can also select from some geographically tagged nodes, which you use in place of node.moneroworld.com

https://moneroworld.com/#nodes

after your sync, though, please please please remove all of these flags. There's no need to have them.

the best way to speed up may be download the raw blockchain and import it after.. getmonero.org use to have it avaliable, dont know if it is now...
With SSD the sync is very fast

Hi

What is the fastest way to sync on Mac OSX?
I seems to take ages.
Monerod has been running for quite some time and still +850 days behind...

Thanks

Can you post your hardware specs and version of OSX? Are you using an SSD?

there has been discussion further above.

try something like this:

Quote
bitmonerod --out-peers 1 --p2p-bind-ip 127.0.0.1 --db-sync-mode fast:async:1000

just copy and paste this command in the terminal?

yep

Doesn't seem to really speed up?

Does XMR have some working frameworks which make it possible to integrate a deposit/withdraw function to a homepage/system?

Something like that would make it very easy for site owners to integrate XMR payment methods. I saw a request at wikileaks for example. Moreover it would be good to suggest such a framework to some other darknet markets so that they just can add this feature like plug and play without much efforts.

Thanks

does anyone know the fastest way to sync on ubuntu 16.04. This is extremely frustrating.

Fiddled with this a long time ago. I use

Code:
bitmonerod --out-peers 1 --p2p-bind-ip 127.0.0.1 --db-sync-mode fast:async:1000

doesn't seem secure to connect only one peer, but it syncs really fast

EDIT: sorry, saw all the other replies. Will leave this here anyway.
