This can help you to create your account successfully now, but it can become your problem with KYC later.
I think you have to contact the support agent, and ask about it, as well as asking the staff to make this note on your account for you, like you created this account with Hong Kong as nationality, because of their platform issue in registration. The note must have information from your true nationality, that will be used when you need to do KYC, if the team request it.
It would be a problem if someone did that themselves without the support team knowing about it. As @Text mentioned it, the support agent have told him that they are going to manually update the information for his account which means they are going to change the country from Hong Kong to Philippines and then the user can do KYC without any problems if asked.
I checked the terms again and our country is not on the list of restricted country anymore. But if you use it for registration it doesn't work (as per my experience too). That's why the validation_error might be a bug need to fix. Btw i tried to follow what @Text did and it worked, now im just trying to reach the support for assistance.
There has been a few complains about this issue, and I believe the team will surely find out the reason why this is happening and fix it. And yes, if you need your account before the issue gets fixed, you can contact the support and ask them to get you signed up like @Text and then they can change your region manually from their side.
