Iam happy to announce the new 0.18.1.L Mooncoin codebase.

This version comes with the new feature LIKES as well as a whole new codebase based on Litecoin 0.18.1. - This version has several improvements over the old 0.13.9.

The 0.18.1.L release is a mandatory upgrade, the HardFork Block is set to 1.801.000 until then 0.13 and 0.18 wallets are compatible, afterwards only 0.18 will be accepted by the network.

Source: https://github.com/MooncoinCommunity/wallet

Default branch is set to 0.18 which is the newest version available for Moon.

Release has been drafted, all binaries are available ( Linux 32/64bit, Windows 32/64bit, MacOS )

https://github.com/MooncoinCommunity/wallet/releases/tag/0.18.1.L

Kind regard,
ChekaZ

Just a note from Altilly Exchange:  We will not be installing this wallet as an update at this time as it was created by an unknown person we know nothing about.
We have not been informed of this update by Mark and we value the mooncoin community and have always supported it from day one. Installing an unknown update that
could contain malicious coding would not be a wise choice.

We are waiting to hear an official announcement from Mark or the Mooncoin Team about this before proceeding.
I highly suggest everyone do the same.

Thanks for your update! - I should be well known on Bitcointalk as well as in general crypto-scene. But sure, dont trust, verify! - All original commits from Litecoin 0.18.1 got carried over and you can take a look at all new commits which have been done since then.

I've also drafted the 0.13.9 release with the implementation of MoonWord. - I always suggest building from source, but for easier distribution, the release also features all binaries for all OS.

If you got any questions regarding the code, please feel free to ask them here.

Thank you for your work.
This is very important upgrade for Mooncoin.
Smart Likes (Likes) codebase was completely implemented into the wallet and tested,
technically it works, however, right now it is a pure code, technical possibility.
For real use cases, simple for everyone, we need a bridge between a user and the technology.

Mooncoin devs currently complete their work on new Mooncoin wallet 0.18.1.L.
When it is released, all Mooncoin users and services, including pools, exchanges, block explorers, online wallets will have to update.
Current 0.13 codebase is outdated. The 0.18 codebase is well tested on Bitcoin network and has been already implemented by Litecoin.
The new 0.18.1.L wallet will contain unique Mooncoin features, smart Likes and MoonWord.
The community has been waiting for these features (especially for Likes) since 2017.
Mebagger2 and ChekaZ will post more details in upcoming days, please stay tuned and be ready to update soon.

Hello all !

Anyone happen to know why on my Windows 10 system that the Moon coin qt keeps vanishing ?  This is very disturbing - works just fine on my Windows 7 PRO...... Wierd....

Or does anyone have clear and concise directions on how to install and activate the Moon coin wallet on Linux ?   Ubuntu ?

Thank you,

E

I'm running the existing version on Windows 10 just fine for about a year or more. When does it disappear? There is a setting to have the app minimize to the tray instead of close when you click the little x in the top right. Maybe that isn't set and it's closing the app instead. That would be a default behavior on a new install.

Thank you AmoreJaz, it is good to read a first hand account of any exchange in question.

Hotbit launched in January 2018 but already claim 24 hour trading volumes of $1,582,006,834 (https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/hotbit)

They offer a risk free investment (make of that what you will) but they key is they do not seem to have any real complaints of scam against them though warning about other things have been raised:

https://www.forexbrokerz.com/brokers/hotbit-review
https://blockonomi.com/hotbit-review/

If one can get past the trading volumes they post as they seem inflated, it seems there are no cases of selective scamming but their deliberate lack of providing substantial company information has not gone unnoticed:

https://www.hotbit.io/support?page=serviceTerm

(https://www.hotbit.io/support?page=aboutUs):

About Hotbit

Founded in January 2018 and registered in both Hong Kong and Estonia, with its core team members from China, USA and Taiwan, Hotbit is currently based in Shanghai and Taipei. So far, Hotbit has been running smoothly for 19 months. According to CoinMarketCap, until October 14th, 2019, Hotbit had listed 547 trading pairs in total and was ranked No. 3 among all exchanges regarding the number of types of cryptocurrency projects listed. Currently, Hotbit platform supports 6 languages (Chinese, English, Russian, Korean, Thai, Turkish) and has accumulated 540,000 registered users from more than 170 countries and areas all over the world, among which 90% of registered users are non-Chinese users. We firmly believe that the decentralized crypto-assets are set to reform the global financial system fundamentally and provide us with further highly efficient asset circulation, fairer resource distribution and more transparent trading processes. The distributed ledger and smart contract technology construct the foundation of trust building among mankind, which eliminates the trading barriers, accelerates trading efficiencies and forms a huge impact on real economy. Based on the management concepts of decentralization, Hotbit team aims at building the Amazon in blockchain industry.

What is the listed fee they quoted?

just to interrupt with your discussion here. regarding hotbit, i have used that exchange few times before because i need to trade particular tokens that i had. and never had any problem encountered from them. and they have no kyc. i use google authenticator for additional security though.
you can find a lot of coins that are not in other exchanges also...

looks like moon coin on unnamed.exchange now. happy trading. new year new fun.

If that is true why would they bother listing there? That exchange has nothing on its terms and conditions to protect the end user in the event of a scam and the owners have put no information about who actually owns it.

Very sad to see this type of situation happening

we would like to see Mooncoin in many exchanges as doge, but we do not have a company behind us, we are completely decentralized, not a legal foundation, we are all volunteers, and unfortunately we do not have Elon Musk like doge to list on binance to bypass the strict compliance that only favors  centralized tokens. However some prefer centralized exchange others decentralized those who want kyc insurance and aml asset insurance, etc, is beautiful, but it has a cost and should help us with contributions. I know Binance ask 10/20 Btc to donate to charity fund.

What do you think about hotbit exchange? https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/hotbit

I never heard of hotbit before, will look in to it and let you know.

And I do understand what you are saying about the community being behind Mooncoin and being voulnteers.  I hope wherever Mooncoin is listed it will be beneficial for its users.

Exchanges are great to have and essential for mooncoin. Any exchange is better than none at all. Some coins are only sold through ATMs. And maybe at some point in the future people will decide to offer mooncoin on a general bytes ATM too. Basically they act as tiny local exchanges independently operated.
But I think the first task of many that needs to be done is grow our community and user base, and make it easier for people to buy, sell, trade, store and recover their mooncoins. And reduce the barriers of entry to people new to mooncoin and crypto. I think doing this could help support the daily exchange volume on the exchanges that we are currently listed by growing our user base. Because one of many things that need to happen for the ultimate long term success for this project is increase a sustainable exchange volume and that takes users/believers.

[MOON] Mooncoin 🌙 (built in 2013) (with future in mind)

Really launched before Jan.2014?

 Huh

The Point.

MOON miners produced a full 24hrs of mining and moving the block chain for about $20 bucks of reward.

BCH miners produced a ransom note for 12.5% of all rewards must be given to "donation" or else!!

BTC miners get around $15,000,000 for mining 24hrs.

Cost of POW, and efficiency thereof, is a major talking point that nobody mentions.

They are all stock2flow and halving buzzfeeding the public.

I see.
