Hamilton has not yet won a single race, but he still speaks of a good season. This is mainly because the performance is now measured against that of last year, and last year was the year in which Mercedes had to close the difference again with RedBull, which did not work at all. But the question we can already ask: What will F1 look like next season? In this way it does not seem that there is only 1 driver who can get close to Verstappen, does it? at least, it seems that way at the moment. And Perez is a nice wingman for Verstappen, I think.

We can all not like what Verstappen does, but it is very efficient and good. Who has ever won so many races with great overpower? Right, only Senna was so superior to the rest of the field. You would have loved to see how Senna and Verstappen would race against each other in the cars of the present. And what could Schumacher manage in this field? I wonder what the balance of power would be like between these giants.

Michael Schumacher was dominant too in under all conditions.

And yes Schumacher was better because he was one of the few to win titles with more than one team.

So far Hamilton and Max won with the same team, maybe we can count Hamilton with 2 teams with MclearenMercedes and Mercedes but I'm not sure about it

Well, another victory for Verstappen. This isn't exciting anymore, is it? He now holds the record together with Senna, but that record is different from the moment it was measured at the Brazilian. A race without Verstappen would make it all more fun and exciting. Of course all credits to Verstappen, because only the very best in this sport can win his races with great force majeure. The rest is so behind every race that it doesn't really seem like a race. I think the rest are already happy with a 2nd place. Only teammate Perez seems to be the only one who can win a game every now and then this season.

It is not the fault of Verstappen, there is also a team mate to him in this case Perez which is to say the least a mediocre driver compared to Verstappen and that make F1 boring this season.I know that even in times when Mercedes dominated Lewis Hamilton won most titles but there was the year 2016 where Nico Rosberg fought really hard and made that season very beautiful to watch despite Mercedes winning all races or almost all races in that season.

Safety Car entered but only Ferrari were bold enough to not enter the pits and hoping for some incidents that would have brought again a Safety Car,the fact that all leading drivers entered pits at the very same time made the race linear and boring,of course Verstappen with a car like Redbull is unstoppable this season, for me it is already over.

Another boring race and the same winner. Formula 1 is slowly dying out, all the hype they caught last year has disappeared. Nobody even bothers to watch the races anymore. Even the boring match in the UEFA Nations League final is better than this race. Cheesy
Apart from the usual names, Albon, Ocon and Stroll were the good names of the day. Russell didn't see the finish, it's sad for him. Alonso and Hamilton took the podium again. The season is going well for them. Ferrari continues to disappoint.

Well , it's because there is no real competition for RedBull and for Max in general and I don't see this to be changing for the rest of the season.  I do hope Liberty Media and FIA will finally understand that fans really don't want to see one dominating car and the rest simply fighting for thin air because they know since race 1 they don't stand a chance and the season is already over. Lucky for us that from time to time we have this fierce battles for last position to get points and a crash here and there because without these 2 elements,  F1 really looks a bit dead even if the fans are coming in full package at every race. Personally I didn't got disappointed about race. Not talking about Max, but fight for 2nd place was good. Though, I expected that Hamilton will get penalty for unsafe release. And later it already looked that Hamilton will get chance to reclaim 2nd position, but he didn't managed to reach DRS zone.
Respect to Ferrari for not failing with their strategy today. And Albon - deserved driver of the day and delivered huge 6 points for Williams. And Stroll overtaken Bottas on finish line literally, 0.02 seconds ahead. Local spectators should be happy.
Biggest WTF moment was fight between Magnussen and De Vries.

How it's different from last year when there was no doubts about Verstappen title in the middle of summer? And in over 20 last years probably more than half seasons there was one dominating guy -Schumacher in Ferrari, Vettel in Red Bull, Hamilton in Mercedes and now Verstappen. One team dominance isn't good for F1, but it's such reality.

Another easy win for MAX.
Ferrari got decent progress with their updates.

These new cars introduced in 2022 are already dead.
They introduced these cars with the promise of easier overtakes but the reality is a different story.

After one year of development with these cars, you can't overtake in long straight so what they did was useless.

It is really bad news for me because I would have liked to watch this race under a decent level of rain.  Smiley  Because on a dry track here it's like there is no way Verstappen not winning by a huge gap as he does most of the time. Even rain might not change this look maybe but we never know. I hope at least we can watch some nice action for podium.

Hamilton really wants to bring the competition to Alonso according to his statements. He is targeting to keep Alonso behind until the end of the race. But he had better focus on overtaking him first. Because so far Alonso has been more impressive to me during the weekend.  Grin

Good for Hulkenberg! But his job is really difficult about maintaining his presence in top 10 until the end.

I think it can be actually better, much better to have that suspence and in the mid of the race and unexpected rain can me amazing, all the drivers rushing into boxes to pick inters and after a few laps again dry.

I would love a race where most of the laps are run with extreme-full wet tires. That would make sure that we would see the drivers skills more than any car performance as the laps would be like 10-20 seconds slower and in such a time it is needed a lot of driver skill in order to win the race,we have seen in some races some drivers have been able to drive a 1-2 seconds faster lap times than most other drivers and that have been wonderful,we have seen drivers with not the best cars winning the races.

Mercedes definitely been on the up, they have made some great upgrades, if they keep this up then they are going to be the second team this season behind Red Bull, however Aston Martin said they brought an upgrade this week as well, we haven't seen anything on practice that was exceptional but if that is how practice is usually, let's see if they will do better today, if they do get third place with Alonso then Mercedes is not there yet.

The only thing Mercedes benefiting from Aston Martin is that Stroll sucks, we are not going to see him lose his spot neither, the father Stroll bankrolls this whole team literally for his son to drive, so they will lose a lot of points because of that. In the end 1 Red Bull, 2- Mercedes, 3-Aston Martin (no thanks to Stroll) and 4- Ferrari seems to be the story of the season thus far, and seems like might be for the reason of the season.
Together with the hamilton-mercedes contract issues, it makes me think if we will see the leclerc-russell duo next year. It was a race where I was sad that leclerc was eliminated in q2 due to the Ferrari strategists who did not watch the race, but glad to hear that Perez was eliminated as well. My expectation from Perez is to get his racing monster to the finish line without crashing. If Perez continues like this for a few more races, we could see daniel ricciardo in the redbull seat during the summer break. As long as max verstappen does not experience a possible dnf, it will be the race where he will lead. This man is truly a machine.

Just two hours to go from the race and only cloud weather is not going to give us a beautiful race, who knows maybe it will be but I highly doubt it that anyone can challenge Redbull during normal conditions in a track which suits them well, they both have top speed and great aerodynamics which would make them to easily win this race.We desperately need the rain as have been discussed already otherwise we risk to watch another boring race.Very cloudy weather though can translate easily into rain as rain comes from clouds  Grin so I still remain hopeful for this race.

Hulkenberg sounds like Alonso of last year when he started second with a car similar to Hulkenberg in terms of performance last year in Canada. The race though was not that wet last year and the predictions for the race now are also not that wet,I hope that we have rain, massive rain just enough like the one in Q3 yesterday and we are going to see a super beautiful race with a lot of unpredictable things happening.

Perez made a mistake in the Q2 as he tried with the intermediate tires when he still had a chance to do a lap with the softs before but he did not bother and now will start 12th place.Ferrari also screwed up again their strategy with Leclerc,so the starting grid is very interesting for the race of tonight (it is in night time European time).

Of all the drivers, I didn't expect Hulkenberg to be in P2, it's quite interesting to see a driver who rarely makes the top 10, suddenly be in that position. Even Max himself was quite surprised to see Hulkenberg in that position and put Alonso at P3. This qualifying session was very interesting to watch because we could see that there were several teams that benefited from the rain and the track which was quite wet.
But for Ferrari it's quite frustrating for them to be able to improve their performance. Even here, Leclerc was quite disappointed (again) with his team and said that if the strategy was not changed, they would be in a downward position. It's quite sad to see him in such a frustrated position.

Bagnaia will probably champion this year too

If he hadn't crashed so often, the world championship would already be boring.

To the race today:

Perfect race for Ducati, I didn't think that Bagnaia would fight for the victory and rather prefer the safe points for the world championship, it was closer than expected.

It was a pity that Binder dropped out, it was a demonstration of power for Ducati, where the Sachsenring is actually more a Yamaha and Marquez track.

Marc Marquez again suffered a small injury to his left finger after falling during today's WUP session although he was still declared fit to take part in the race. And after the crash I saw that Marc Marquez was very frustrated with his condition in the current race because this could have arisen through his bike which has not been very competitive this season. so Marc Marquez looks very tired even though racing at a circuit that usually makes a good record for him, and today's race probably won't go well for Marc Marquez either.

I just read that there is another update regarding Marc Marquez who has decided to withdraw from the German Grandprix today and maybe this is a better thing for Marc Marquez. Hopefully we can be back racing again next week in Assen Netherlands. Source: motogp

The qualifying session was under serious level of rain and this even caused Q3 to end earlier. Verstappen still managed to take pole position easily by a quite big time gap with the others. Hulkenberg was the most surprising name of this session because he is going to start the race from the second position. He had a really nice lap time and the heavy rain in the last minutes helped him secure this position as well.

This session was just a nightmare for Perez on the other hand. Because he couldn't even make it to Q3. He was struggling too much in Q2 and he couldn't use his last chance for a better lap well either. I hoped to see him capturing a good position to start honestly. The curse on him still continues as he had a really horrible weekend in the previous race in Canada.
