After leaving a great race behind, we are getting close to another one day by day. The Turkish GP is one of the very special races. It was like the race would be removed from the calendar again. But after a postponement, we are going to be able to watch the race in two weeks. I remember the race last year. The track was really problematic as it was very slippery. But this time, I don't expect this. We will be able to watch a more decent race.

Next week is the American moto GP. If Quartararo played safe, maybe his points could be overtaken. In the race before quartararo, it was like playing it safe so he didn't get the maximum points. When compared to Bagnaia Quartararo lost in points. In two races Bagnaia got 50 points while Quartararo only got 28 points in the last 2 races.

It was one of the races that I was delighted with a lot. Honestly, I wasn't expecting the Russian GP to be this delightful after I heard that Verstappen was going to start from the last position. But after seeing the qualifying results, my hopes about this race increased. Because there was a chance for especially Norris to get his first win of his career. And he was really close to achieving it but he made a big mistake by not pitting. Maybe he would have pitted before Hamilton by making him surprised and then he would have won the race also. I liked Verstappen the most in this race as he climbed the positions one by one until reaching the 2nd position. It was really wonderful to see it.

Verstappen is only 2 points behind Hamilton now and I'm looking forward to watching the Turkish GP next weekend.

He released an interview and according to him watching what is happening on other teams with the Mercedes engine he is very sure about the usage of a 4th engine for Lewis.

Maybe he thinks that because after the engine swap in Verstappen's car, Hamilton will be a little slower than him from now on. And he will need to swap his engine with a better one also. These little things are very important actually. Because these drivers are fighting for the title in the end. Hamilton is fighting for his 8th title and Verstappen for his first one.

I'm going to merit that because others are disagreeing with you, but I think you are quite correct. Red Bull (both Horner and Marko) have stated that they think Hamilton will need to take another engine. Mercedes (Wolff) have refused to rule out Hamilton taking a penalty from new components, and have stated several times that every team will struggle to get through the whole season on the normal engine allocation.

Presumably if Hamilton takes a penalty, they'll try to time it as Red Bull did, so that it's either at a track where Red Bull are supremely dominant, or after a poor qualifying performance... and either way, certainly at a track where overtaking is possible.

I don't think Hamilton would need that. He already has a very good car and not to mention his driving capabilities. Maybe taking a new engine now is not a very good time in my opinion. He is already doing very well with the current engine. But maybe a new engine if that's a better one will help him a bit but what I feel is why change the current one as long as it's working fine for him? Getting used to a new engine is also a thing right? So maybe changing the engine now won't be the best bet.

I really have to appreciate how Max did this qualifying round. He had the engine penalty and also the crash penalty which accumulated in him starting in the last grid but finishing 2nd from there? That's some incredible stuff. Max has been one of my favorite drivers over the years but this was one of my favorite ones so far. Toto Wolff has said that Hamilton may have won the race but Max would be his second winner. Winning from starting in the last grid would be something phenomenal, but he did more than anyone else could have done.

What a great race we had yesterday! After seeing the qualifying results, I already felt that the race was going to be amazing. And it was indeed. As Red Bull changed the engine of Verstappen's car and he had a 3-position grid penalty, he started from the last place to the race. He had a huge task to finish the race at an as good position as possible. Mercedes had some plans for holding Verstappen back also. They made a change in Bottas' car and he started at the 17th place. The aim was to hold Verstappen behind Bottas for as long time as possible. But Verstappen still managed to overtake him in only 5-6 laps. During the majority of the race, we watched a really nice competition between Sainz and Norris for having the lead. Norris finally overtook him after some time and started opening the gap. After the first pit stop, Hamilton started playing big and he started showing his best performance to climb the positions to even win the race. Norris had a really tough competitor for him as Hamilton climbed to the 2nd position and was following him very closely.

In the last 5-6 laps, it suddenly started raining and that was the start of an enjoyable part of the race.    Norris and Hamilton had to make a really difficulty choice. First, both of them didn't want to enter the pit lane but after one lap, it started to pour with rain and Hamilton decided to pit. However, Norris turned down the call of his team and wanted to go to the end with Hard tyres. Because he really wanted to win his first race in his career. But unfortunately, he couldn't brake at some point and Hamilton got past him and won the race also. Norris pitted at the end of the lap but after he was out, he even lost the chance of being on the podium.

And I would like to add an important thing about the race that this was Hamilton's 100th win in his career. It was a very special win for him and I'm proud of him.



I think that the driver of the day was absolutely Max Verstappen. Even if he changed his engine and started from the back of the grid, he still managed to end the race at the 2nd place which was really a huge success for him. The rain in the last laps helped him a lot to climb to this position as there was a big chaos.

I feel like Hamilton didn't even care about the qualifying all that much. He knows that he has easily the best car for this track and he gets to race only few worse cars ahead of him, so finishing 4th means nothing to him at all. Dude could be racing at the first position literally after few turns, of course that depends on how he takes off from start and how others do it as well but he does have that chance to be first after the very first few turns.

If he fails that, he could take them out one by one each lap as well and I doubt anyone can keep him behind for a long time on this track. Verstappen is not as gone as people imagine though, sure he has a very very slim chance of being first unless something insanely unexpected happens, but he could at least fight for a podium, and I know from last to podium is hard as well but if anyone can do it, that is going to be Verstappen, just depends on the traffic he will face.

I don't think Verstappen deserves the driver of the day title today because him as many others was helped a lot by the rain.If rain would have not fallen those last minutes Verstappen should have been stuck in 6th or 7th position,after his first pit stop he was having a lot of difficulties so he got 2nd only because of the rain,I doubt he would have overtaken a lot of the 5 or 6 drivers he had in his way.

Lando can be forgiven as he is young and lacks the experience in such situations,he posted a "heartbroken" post in Instagram but yeah it was because of him not listening to the team that he ended up 7th from 1st.

Yeah, it looked a bit weird to give such award after what happened in final laps. But it's because he got most of votes before rain start. But after all, Verstappen deserved this award most. And this race will be good lesson for Lando that he have to listen what his team is telling for him.

This is a track where you can do it, like Verstappen Leclerc too did a lot of overtakes but in the end he gambled like Norris with slick tires in the rain, and like Norris he got punished, he tried the big Jolly but he failed.
