Two races at Katar and Portimao are back at the beginning, Portimao is a very interesting track 👌.

It looks like the series on the American continent were postponed due to Covid-19 still growing. They will see until the 3rd quarter. Looking at the schedule after qatar and doha it looks like the  races will start on the continent of Europe, then Asia,  Australia  and then close back to Europe in Valencia. Unfortunately Mandalika is still not officially appointed as the main title or as a replacement. Maybe if the Australian Moto GP was canceled Mandalika could be a replacement. Even if I read in the local media of my country (Indonesia) they will be ready for the Moto GP schedule. I am a little disappointed because Mandalika is not the main series.

It looks like this will be the case, the USA will be difficult and Australia currently has a complete entry ban. Just see what happens next and whether vaccination is mandatory in some countries? Maybe the similar at Formula 1?

^  Exactly.  I think I said the same thing a couple of months ago itt or at Twitter somewhere.  Russel just doesn’t have the experience of a multiple world champion to be gutsy enough to make some calls himself.  I mean really do we really think he’ll win week in, week out just cos he’s driving a Merc?

"We never played the George Russell card"

This is because there isn't a George Russell card. That's just something cooked up by the media. He had an impressive race deputising for Hamilton, yes, but that doesn't immediately make him equivalent to a proven x7 world champion. It's media nonsense, no more than that. And it also overlooks the relationships Hamilton has built up over the years at Mercedes, and the valuable input he has no doubt provided into the build of that formidable car. A world champion does a lot of work outside the car as well.

I think one thing that's often overlooked is how Russell lost that race. Yes, he was unlucky, but consider Hamilton's win before that - when he knew he was right to override team orders that could have cost him the victory. Chances are that if Hamilton were in Russell's position, he'd still have managed the win where Russell didn't. Russell is a talented rookie, he's not yet a world-beater.

I wonder if he could have a contract with a "low" salary during his F1 years, with a deal to stay as some kind of Mercedes ambassador for some years after that, with still a big salary to compensate ?

Looks like Mercedes and Hamilton are getting closer to a new contract. Toto said "We never played the George Russell card" but I think Russells race this counts in the background.

So we will see Hamilton trying to win the 8th title and when nothing weirds happen, he will win it.

About the Monaco GP, I wonder how the decisions are taken exactly. Monaco is a "country" in many ways, however if the pandemic is raging in France I don't see how the GP could go on in Monaco, France would probably close Monaco's borders and then the trucks can't come, the spectators can't come...

You are right in fact the street circuits are the ones who will are at high risk and probably will not race in 2021 as I read in an article the past week.

In this list we have

Monaco
Montreal

and maybe Baku/Mexico

Monaco Gp is one of the most beautiful ones in F1 although many times under normal race conditions,i.e sunshine it becomes boring to watch.I think France will make an exception to let only the F1 circus to pass to enter Monaco and most probably it will be a race without spectators except the ones who will see it from their balconies.

Well I think if there will be a race it will be without spectators. If you see how the pandemic is still going on in France, I don't see a race in Monaco.

Few days ago there was a lot of news from the organisators of the GP of Monaco and they still say it will go on. But we see conflicting news items for weeks already.

As the days pass, my excitement rate continues to increase. I wonder what the new rookie F1 drivers will do this season. I'd like Mick Schumacher go to a better team than Haas but anyway, this is an important chance for him to prove himself. Tsunoda is the another rookie F1 driver who will be racing for AlphaTauri. I think he is a very talented driver. We could see a good competition between him and Gasly. Another rookie who will be racing for Haas is Mazepin. I don't have clear thoughts about him yet. I'll just wait and see what he'll do in the first races.

True, I haven't been watching F1 related news for a while and few das ago I read a bunch of them and now I can't wait for the season to start again. Think that Mazepin vs. Schumacher will be a very interesting pairing to watch this season. Probably very fiery one too.

I hate him so much and I don't know why it's like a Bottas to me.  Shocked
Anyway it is almost official, from the next year the starting time of the races will change back to the 14.00 or 15.00, they will remove the 10 minutes delay typically from USA races.
I know that you hate Bottas, but what's wrong with Button? I thought for some time and I can't find any reasons to dislike him.
And for me this 1 hour difference doesn't makes big difference. Only disadvantage that on races in Asia I will have to get up 1 hour earlier in the morning Cheesy.

Start time at 14:00 and 15:00 would be more logical.

And why hating on Bottas?? I don't hate him, I just feel sad for him. Driving in such great car and still be that far behind on your teammate.

Because he is just bad and he is so lucky to be in Mercedes.

We got the prof on the Russell swap Gp for Hamilton, he got destroyed with every compound by the rookie.

Jenson Button will return at Williams as Senior Advisor.

Good to see him back at a team.

They need to change a rule on the regulation to make it official but they are going to do it soon.

It seems the location I posted earlier in this thread for the F1 has been changed.

I posted Barcelona as the location for the test but now sites are reporting Shakir as the location of the tests.

The tests will be from the 12th to the 14th of March.

I think Barcelona is a more suitable track for testing as it is a more technical track but the easier rules in Gulf countries compared to Eu rules because of the quarantine it is a better choice to race in Sakhir.

As for Hamilton everyone knows he will sign the contract otherwise no fighting for the 8th title for him.

^  Yup.  But dunno...  I’ve always seen Hamilton as this guy waiting to come home to McLaren.  He is to McLaren as Messi is to Barca or Ronaldo is to United.  I hope to see him return before he retires.
Don't forget the money part as these guys will always put that as their top priority. Long are gone the days of those sportsmen who felt some love and passion for their team. You also picked two wrong examples IMO, as Messi is trying hard to leave Barça while Ronaldo will never go back to United ever again.

Yup..  but you know...  When you say ‘Messi’, it’s always and will always be synonymous with Barca whichever club he may be playing with next if ever he leaves.  Some people think Hamilton = Mercedes.  It’s really McLaren, his boyhood team and where he won his first driver’s championship.
No man, I'm not sure that we can easily talk about Messi and referring to Barça especially if we take into account what is happening recently.
With motorsport, if I have to make an association that will last forever,  that would be for sure the Ferrari - Schumacher one.  Wink

Uuuh..  So if Messi was playing at some MLS or Argentenian club before retiring, he won’t be known for his accomplishments at Barca and won’t be known to be a Barca player?  Ok.  Lol.

You could say it with Hamilton and McLaren but not Messi and Barca.
