Hamilton has the opportunity with Mercedes to get the 8th title so I why playing it so hard?

It's weird, isn't it? The longer it goes on without news of an agreement, the more you wonder if there is a fundamental problem that can't be resolved. Of course the news outlets are coming out with all sorts of wild rumours, probably none of which are true... but still, why no news?

Imola is back as the "bonus" GP.

I don't like it was better having Mugello or Portimao.
They kept the most boring of the 3 races, meh.
Yeah, Imola probably wasn't preferred track by fans. I would have liked to see Portimao or Istanbul, Mugello is good track too. But it's still not announced where they will race on 25th April, probably it will be one of these tracks.
It will be strange to see Australian GP in November. And I still can stand that last races will be held in extremely boring Abu Dhabi and probably not much better Jeddah track. I miss times when season final was held in Brazil.

I read/hear it a lot that a lot of fans want Brazil back as the final gp. I think the were also discussing this on WTF1.

Abu Dhabi is just a boring race. They should just try out another layout. The can switch around a lot there.

Seems that the GP of Monaco is also not sure. They have to close of course all the public roads and they don't want to do that in Covid-time. Just like it was cancelled last year.

The organisation got time till begin May to let the F1 knows if it can continue or that it going to be cancelled.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if there were some old school routes on the calendar again, and the best thing would be to deactivate DRS on the old school routes. The pilots have to take greater risks and then you stay in the gravel if you make a mistake. We'll see what happens this year.

The calendar of 2021 season has been announced but it is still not clear what race will be on 25 April.

I'd expect a lot of chopping and changing between then and now. We are still in (Northern hemisphere) mid-winter, and cases are likely to continue to rise before they get better. I would treat the current calendar, particularly the earlier races, as provisional. We just don't know how this thing is going to evolve.

Imola for me is the best choice. The narrow track will be awesome to race as this is one of the most technical tracks I think compared to others although it is not an extremely fast track.I am sure we will see more battles here than in Mugello during 2021.I also like Mugello a lot but Portimao was beautiful in 2020 only because of the weather,if we had a sunny race it would have been boring.

The calendar of 2021 season has been announced but it is still not clear what race will be on 25 April. I would like to see Turkish GP there but it doesn't seem likely. I think the best race of the last season was Turkish GP.

Formula 1 2021 Calendar will be consist of 23 events and would start with the Bahrain Grand Prix on 28 of March and ends with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on 12 of December, I am sure excited for every event that may occur, and due to COVID-19 regulations, some events will surely change regarding the status of the drivers and situations that may occur but still looking forward that all event will be held peacefully.

Let's hope all drivers won't get Covid this season.

On the other hand if Hulkenberg can replace them he still got a chance to get on a podium.

F1 added Imola to the 2021 calendar and Australian GP is moved to November. You can find the revised calendar too from the link above. I am glad to hear that Imola GP is added. But I would like Turkish GP to be added too. I think it is one of the best tracks in F1.

The Turkish GP was very great. Maybe it was last year that spectacular because of the weather but I even with dry weather it would still be a great track.

Before the race in the last season, the last race at Turkish GP was in 2011. When I heard that it was coming back in 2020, I was very delighted. I really enjoyed watching it and we watched a very different race comparing to others because of the weather and track conditions. I hope we could see Turkish GP in the calendar again soon.

Still no news on the Hamilton contract... wonder just how long this will drag on? Of course it's impossible to tell if there's any real problem here, but still, the negotiations are taking a long time. Really if the two sides can't find an agreement, you'd expect Hamilton to blink first, wouldn't you? Surely? Mercedes can find another winning driver, but Hamilton can't find another winning team. He has the all -time record of 8 championships squarely in his sights, and is financially set up for life - surely he wouldn't refuse to sign because of a reduced pay packet?

The moving GPS will happen again.

Yes, this does look likely. The difference this time I suppose is that last year it was all new, and no-one knew how it could be managed. Whereas in 2021 we have last year as an example of how it can be done. I do expect a full calendar this year, particularly as the vaccine starts to have an effect. But yes, inevitably there will be some postponements and cancellations.

I am really surprised with this news. Renault had a great season I think. It finished the season 4th and Daniel Ricciardo finished as 5th. I hope he can do nice things again if he goes to another F1 team in the future.

They had a great season. They did much better then expected.

Probably he is leaving because he still have to get that tattoo.  Roll Eyes

It's something unexpected. Interesting, what is the reason behind this decision because last year Renault had really solid season.
BTW, probably it's time to start calling them Alpine, because it's their new name for 2021 season.

really unexpected as a decision, especially because there are two months to go before the new championship and because Abiteboul seems to me to have done a good job in recent years.
I just have a doubt that Fernando Alonso influenced the decision, otherwise it would make no sense to change, I hope for them that they have clear ideas for the future, because Renault had taken a good path and with Alonso would have only improved

Very strange this decision, it has gone well for Renault so far and in my opinion Abiteboul played a big part in it. We'll see if that was a good decision, Alonso can be a difficult part in a team even if he's a good driver.
