So if this correct Ferrari wont continue with Kimi they will use young Leclerc, maybe best move for Ferrari in long time so far. Also another thing didnt look for some additional info about it is it true that this is last season for Alonso.

Agreed. It might be more possible for Lewis to go to Ferrari to partner with Sebastian than Mercedes signing 2 star drivers hehe. I reckon Ferrari has done it before.

@LTU_btc. In what year will Sebastian Vettel's contract in Ferrari end? I reckon he might need another extension to win a championship with them and before he transfers to Mercedes hehehehe.
If I remember correctly, last year he signed new 3 years contract with Ferarri. I wouldn't be surprised if he will extend this contract for more seasons.
Vettel to Mercedes? Now it looks impossible. But in future - why not? But it only can happen if Lewis wil leave Mercedes or he will retire.

Very important win for Hamilton. In start he had collision with Vettel, Seb said that Lewis didn't left enough place for him, but I think that everything was ok in that episode. It's good for Seb that safety car was called then, he didn't wasted so much time and was able to recover many positions later.
Kimi had great chance to win today, but in last laps he just didn't had tyres anymore and Hamilton overtake him quite easily. But Ferarri had speed advantage today.
Ricciardo retired due to car problems again. I'm not surprised at all, it become common thing in recent races Sad
Next GP at Singapore after two weeks.
EDIT Grosjean who finnished 6th has ben disqualified:

It was another victory for Hamilton who made it seem so easy, even that crash didn't distract him from picking up the vital points, i don't see any reason why Mercedes won't win the championship, if Ferrari really wants to win again they should get Hamilton driving their cars, imagine Hamilton skills and Ferrari car speed, they'll be unbeatable.

I don't know the year, but chances are they might just end it post this season he's really been underperforming since quite a while.

^  There's still hope for me to breakeven in our side bet!  Verstappen finished fourth and Ricciardo was out of the race, giving the former a two point lead.  Grin

And what was I thinking by betting on RBR finishing above Ferrari.  Lol.

@Juggy777, Hamilton had slow exit to Kemmel straight, this is why Vettel overtake him so easily, but in general Ferarri was faster yesterday, in second part of the race Lewis don't even tried to chase Vettel. But there aren't many ways how Mercedes could improve speed of their cars in this part of the season. I think that Ferarri will also have advantage in Monza.
About that accident in start - I was really against Halo when it was introduced, but I have to admit that it's good to have in such accidents.

Red Bul announced that Pierre Gasly will replace Ricciardo in next season. Well, I can't call it as suprise. Gasly is young driver with good potential, but it's obvious that he will be No. 2 in the team.
LTU_btc...  I think I'll be owing you 20 bucks anytime soon now.  But I'm still rooting for Max Verstappen to get more points this season vs Ricciardo to breakeven.  Wink
Everything is still possible, only 13 pointsbetween them. And I would predict that in rest part of the season will mainly focus on Max car when they know that Ricciardo will leave team after end of season.

And by the way, after one month summer break F1 finally returns in upcoming weekend in legendary Spa track.

Indeed Gasly arrival at a Red Bull is not much of a surprise and you're right he'll the No 2 in the team. Did you'll watch yesterday's race, Hamilton started at the pole yet it was Vettle and his super fast Ferrari that won. I have to admit that was some super speed, and Mercedes need to work on speeding up their cars, what do you'll say @LTU_btc & @tokeweed. Also in other news of yesterday's race Nico Hulkenberg has been Given grid penalty for crashing into Fernando Alonso, luckily none of them got injured. It seems the race for the title has just heated up, and this is exciting for all fans.

^  Right.  Ok, I'll wait til the end of the season.  My loss is in the hands of Max Verstappen now.  Lol.

Anyway, interesting take on RBR.  There's no point to fight for Ricciardo finishing as high as he can now.  All resources will be focused more on Verstappen.

It has been some years now since in 2015 that Mclaren has not been in the podium. This shows the actual status of the car which is not a good one. Carlos maybe a good driver but when even Alonso couldn't do anything with a car of the Mclaren status in these years, I doubt he will do anything better if they don't upgrade the car.

For next year it will be difficult to see major upgrades but I think we should see medium upgrades otherwise they will still be fighting in 10 th place and below it.

@Juggy777. I reckon 1 of these 3. Carlos Sainz, Pierre Gasly or Brendon Hartley. But for me, I want Carlos Sainz to drive beside Max. He is the most ready and has the most experience if compared to the 2 Toro Rosso drivers.

But Carlos Sainz is set to replace Fernando Alonso in McLaren, according to some articles hehehe.

It is now confirmed it'll Carlos in the drivers seat for McLaren it'll be interesting how things work out, Alonso was a great driver, and Carlos has some big shoes to fill.

It is confirmed now, Carlos Sainz will replace Fernando Alonso for the 2019 year in Formula1. The problem is that if Mclaren doesn't provide a good balanced car with a lot of speed and downforce, it will be no difference, Mclaren will not win anything if they don't redesign their car thoroughly and start to discuss more with their engine provider, Renault.

This is very true McLaren needs to redo it's car engine, and make further tweaks and optimisation if they seriously wish to fight for the title. Like they say you don't bring a knife to a gun fight, it's time they launch a car that's capable of speed otherwise it'll just be another lousy season for them. I personally feel we may see some minor upgrade, and not the major ones next season, what do you'll think?

@sworegino. I reckon it would take a very unexpected and miraculous development for McLaren to reach its former high status in the sport again.

Do you see where Williams is? That is where McLaren can go hehehe.

F. Alonso officially announced that he will retire from F1 after this season. The end of era of another racing legend. He isn't too old for Formula, but probably he just don't want to race in mediacore teams anymore. It's interesting that Fernando released this statement shortly after Red Bull announced that wont offer contract to Alonso to replace Ricciardo.

F Alonso is a legend and it seems my childhood is almost over, all the favourites are no longer racing, I think you have a valid point here considering his age and experience he's not the one who should have retired so soon, but then again with his reputation and experience not driving in the best cars, was always going to hurt him. I won't enjoy seeing the races, now as another of my childhood driver won't be there, definitely an end of an era.

It'll be interesting to see who Red Bull are planning to bring in for replacement. Who do you'll think will make the cut.

@LTU_btc. Agreed. He took the risk and the idealistic move by driving for McLaren, and tried to rebuild the team to get a championship, the same as what he did for Renault where he won 2 championships. I will miss him. This sport will be reduced without him.
