Oh nice, grid penalty for Bottas.  Nice to see Verstappen get bumped up to fourth on the grid.  We have ourselves a good race now.  No offense to Bottas, but I do find him quite boring.  I'd rather like to see Verstappen have a chance.

One of the best GP's in the race calendar this weekend guys!  I hope it's a 1 and 2 poles for Vettel and Hamilton.  Doesn't have to be in that order, but yeah...  It should be a good race.

2017 British GP Time Table

Fri 14 Jul – Sun 16 Jul 2017

Practice 1     Fri     09:00 – 10:30
Practice 2     Fri     13:00 – 14:30
Practice 3     Sat    10:00 – 11:00
Qualifying     Sat    13:00 – 14:00
Race            Sun    13:00 – 15:00

Yes, Silverstone is a great race. Hamilton "plays at home" and is clearly the big favorite (3 consecutive victories in the last 3 years).
He must absolutely win to reduce the disadvantage on Vettel, and reiterate who is the first driver in Mercedes.

Yes this will be Hamilton track and he really likes it,  so only bad start or crash can ruin the perhaps victory for him.
Second race could be very interesting if rain comes and it can be.

It will not be that easy for Hamilton , his team mate is his greatest rival. I am ruling out the Ferraris in this race considering what happened to them in last year race where they were being overtaken easily from the Mercedes in the big straight with the DNS open. I will place a bet on Valteri Bottas to win the race.

Slava Ukraini!
Few last laps of the race was hot. We saw close foght for 1st and 3rd positions, but Vettel and Hamilton didn't managed to overtake their opponents. Vettel increased his lead to 20 pts against Hamilton, but I think that Hamilton still have reserves.
Verstappen is very unlucky man, he didn't reached finnish in 5 out of last 7 GP's.

Vettel needed one more lap to get a chance to pass the leader judging by that .658 second gap, didn't watch the race.

Anyway, on we go to the British GP next weekend!  Now this is a race Hamilton surely wants to win, and Vettel will try not to let him.

Good win for Bottas, but Vettel may be happy to have earned points on Hamilton on an unfavorable track

I am not surprised from this victory from Bottas, I guess this track is his favorite since he has fought for a win even when he was at the Williams so now with a Mercedes at hand he showed a great race today. Last race was also a brilliant performance from Bottas, from last place to 2nd. I am confident he can win the title this year if he stay this focused during all championship long. In fact I would love to bet on him to win the championship as the odd is big, but I will wait the next race before the decision.

By underperforming I also meant unreliable. Alonso wants a car that can win, and a car that will not break. He is getting really pissed. Sure you can think he has accepted it, but he keeps complaining.

http://en.f1i.com/news/270281-alonso-win-september-i-will-stay.html

The problem with Mercedes is, they don't want to give Lewis competition, so it depends on if Lewis stays or not because he said he may be retiring soon, so that is an opportunity for Alonso to become a Mercedes pilot.

I think Mercedes would rather have Vettel than Alonso.  They have expressed that their door is not closed on a Vettel switch to their team.  Alonso is more likely to either return to Ferrari or Renault.  There are also rumors of a switch to Red Bull.

Ferrari's chief engineer left the team under the orders of Maurizio Arrivabene. Have anyone heard any rumors there on what occured in the team? I cannot think of a reason why they would do that now that Ferrari is having a good season.
