This week there is the Hungarian Gp (Hungaroring) in F1.

This track seems to be favorable to Ferrari, but the big favorite is still Lewis Hamilton who won 5 times here and made 5 pole positions.

If he does better than Vettel will go first in the world championship standings.

The FIA has imposed stricter rules on the oil burning issue during qualifying limiting the use of the strategy that has been giving Mercedes the advantage. I speculate the Ferraris to be on pole and 2nd in Hungary.

FIA are making the Formula more boring and boring every year in past 10. I agree with you and I don't know why they are backing Mercedes, even unofficially. 5 years ago I was in front of TV every Sunday to watch the Formula. Now... once in a month or two.

No. The new owners are trying to make formula 1 a more engaging sport. This year with the new car specifications we have seen faster races and the breaking of speed records in racing tracks.

What do you mean they are backing Mercedes unofficially. I did not say anything about that.

It is now official, Robert Kubica will be on track in the tests on the Hungaroring circuit next week. He will guide the Renault R.S.17.

If he is competitive he will be able to go back to f1!

As long as it does not affect the performance of the drivers then it is good to have extra protection. Some say that they do not like the way it looks. I am sure it will evolve with how it looks over time making it aesthetically beautiful and functional at the same time.

My option is bad look for starter and if this is really like on that picture provided by this article this is by me very bad. Poor view side like split screen. Ok safety first but this is hilarious. This is just beginning for going full cover and then it wont be formula 1 anymore. Formula 1 is cuz of open cockpit, if they do something like this then is worse then i tough. First was engine now this what is next speed limit to 200 km/h?

@Travelmug. I speculate that Lewis Hamilton will take a break from Formula 1 by announcing his retirement. I reckon his former teammate at McClaren, Jenson Button is doing the same thing.

After 2 or maybe 3 years Lewis will be back to his old team, McClaren where he grew up and will be staying with them until his real retirement.
Maybe it's possible, if he will win this championship. But I believe he would want to defend his title in next season. And only after next season he may take break, or try to participate in other race series like IndyCar.
Hamilton to McClaren. I think it only would be possible if they change engine supplier from Honda to Mercedes.

And now there are some interesting news: we may see comeback of Robert Kubica on Spa GP. Probly he would replace Palmer. Renault aren't happy about results of newbie Palmer.

if lewis hamilton leave from mercedes strong candidate replace position hamilton , vettel
but i think fereari can't leave vettel to join mercedes, except ferari not renewal contract

and mclaren need much develop can compete car, only with big salary hamilton can join to mclaren

if hamilton leave to mercedes, i think max vestapen can replace position hamilton

There will not be races this week in F1 and Motogp.
Both championships are in mid-season, and never like this year there is so much balance and uncertainty about who will win.

In Motogp there are 5 riders in only 26 points, in F1 there are 3 riders in 23 points.

The second part of the season will be really electrifying, and those who want to win will have to minimize the mistakes.

If Hamilton is to win the 2017 Formula 1 crown, this will be seen as the crucial moment his fortunes turned for the better, considering Vettel entered the British Grand Prix with a 20-point advantage. Sunday's result means Vettel's lead at the top of the drivers' standings was cut down to just a single point following the 10th race of the year, while Verstappen and Ricciardo finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

What would happen to Vettel if he does not get the driver's championship this year? He still has not signed a new contract with Ferrari and Mercedes' doors are still open for him to let him join their team.

@azguard. At the end of this season maybe this would also make a good poll. Will Vettel leave Ferrari?

@azguard. This will really be a good time to change the poll to Who will win the driver's championship, with only 3 drivers to choose from. Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Valteri Bottas. I am sure most of you who visit this thread regularly would agree.

Disaster for Ferrari in last laps. Verstappen had chance to finnish at podium, but Red Bull decided to not risk and made pit stop to change tyres in last laps. It helped for Raikkonen to stay in P3 after his pitstop.
In the middle of season we see only 1 point diference between Vettel and Hamilton. Bottas only 23 points behind leader.
