People have learned from their past mistakes. This is because such influencer has been cheating investors by promoting various scam ICO's. Now people don't trust them anymore. Their words do not affect the market. So no one will listen to them anymore. People are smart enough now, they know where to invest.

I agree with you but still most of them raise questions in this forum regarding where to invest which means they are still confused.

And yes people are more smarter than before many of them prefer to invest in top 50 alts rather than investing in new projects, recommend not to invest in new projects without knowing any stake of proof.

First of all your comment is a little funny. Mouth more like it is marketing although not too influential this days. We still can't take away that know people will always push price up. Influencing will always be part of crypto

Mouths don't work any wonders anymore, people don't trust words on Crypto space any longer since they have been repeatedly deceived, it was just like how McAfee sprays his nonsense about few projects in crypto space and most of these projects are dead or dumped already

Well, if their opinions/words are really affecting the price of cryptocurrency, it probably means they are honest, consistent, their predictions usually comes to pass, and observant people are aware of this.
There could be the negative side of this though, people who aren't really honest or consistent could be manipulating price to make their predictions right. < That isn't moral and probably not legal.

Don't depend too much on them, now they mostly spread fud only for their own benefit. I suggest analyzing the project with what the project will do or updating the project rather than relying on information from such people.

I think this is how the crypto currency space is generally, when it is to favor you, you spread fuds to influence the emotions and trade actions of other traders.
But when you need a pump too, you spread fomo to influence the emotions and trade action of other traders equally.

Your phrase reminds of me of crypto currency influencers, who for their own benefit and style of occupation spreads fomo or fud to their followers causing panics to buy or sell respectively.

Hype is important for token growth, which is why as a trader or investor, you need to make sure that the hypes have positive influences on your decisions.

Gone are those days where some well known person will talk about a coin or even advice people to hold and the price will shot for the sky, this things to work anymore in crypto space today, the last time I witnessed such was in 2018

Haven't seen such effect these days anymore, the big names in crypto are now even afraid to come out to say something. I haven't heard anything from them anymore like Musk and Draper. Some supported a coin but if you look at the coins they've been supporting, its also crashing. There isn't any coins that can survive this bear. Looking at their pages in coinmarketcap, they were already delisted in all the exchanges and Mcafee still in face palm.
We can't see it now because people are already aware of their tactics, they are influencing the minds of newcomers and feels that they can control it.
That is why we can't see huge hypes these days and that such market manipulation is slowed down.
And we can remember those days that 2017, it is because of these people but they all gone now and to think that we can no longer that happening again.

Binance CEO is a great leader.
His words get attention in the twitter world which is also being sent to the crypto communities.
McAfee also became a word of advertisement and many took him seriously but it all stopped.

I use to remember those days in early 2018 when several influencers on twitter were busy giving us ill conceived notions on the cryptos to buy and hold. We later got to know that most of those predictions were an act of marketing and the influencers were heavily paid for the service rendered.

Just  fud surrounding with a project will not make it make some big issue in crypto. Technically it is a strategy that whom developing and promoting their coins so far that investors are interested in . Fudding and sweet talks are no more attractive for real traders / investors .  Do your own research, observes and wait in patience then you can now see the reality.

in the marketing world we call it WOM,Word-of-mouth marketing WOM marketing is when a consumer's interest in a company's product or service is reflected in their daily dialogues. Essentially, is it is free advertising triggered by customer experiences—and usually, something that goes beyond what they expected. Word-of-mouth marketing can be encouraged through different publicity activities set up by companies, or by having opportunities to encourage consumer-to-consumer and consumer-to-marketer communications.

Also called referred to as "WOMM" or "word-of-mouth advertising," WOM marketing includes buzz, viral, blog, emotional, and social media marketing.

so technically social media as long as posted by any significant person is called WOM and yes it will be a good tool to increase the awareness of people to cryptocurrencies.

people who are already famous and say that a new currency has a good chance in the crypto market will easily experience a growth or FOMO say that John Mcafee, then another famous figure, even if the CEO of Binance says a good project scam, then in the short term the project will get FOMO are, even if it does not take long.

When i mean mouth work wonders in the crypto space, i mean we have selected few crypto leaders, or ceos whose word are held in high regard and can definitely push up the price of certain altcoins if mentioned.

It also applies to project that can be bullish with their words and products, it generates a natural hype that can push up prices of any altcoins in the crypto sphere.

Do you think the same ? or have examples of such ceos or influencers whose words hodl great volume ?
Not just in this crypto space, everywhere celebrities can do magic due to their fame. It had happened many times in this crypto space also. After the revolution of social media, famous people are easily able to trigger waves on any type of investments. I read when an American VJ talked about an android app and its pitfalls, it led to massive amount of uninstallation of that app. (I could not recall that celebrity name and what was that app, I am sorry).

not anymore. not this time. if they are going to shill today, they'd be laugh and may branded as scam when finally the team disappears in the shadows. we all know this is unregulated, any one who scams today go unpunished. even the famous ellen dedeneres weren't able to push up the price of XRP when she shills for it.

this is the time that technology matters the most and which one is best will survive so look up which projects are on top and which has superior codes among them.

I think those ruses gonna stale fast and less likely to work in today like it used to be before. Of course, there are a few people still hold a great reputation and no doubt they would create an insane hype but they do not that kind of thing at all.
Hype by those guys are really not helping. I remember before all advisor are just jumping ship to each new release ICOs. I wonder what could those guys can help through. Right now its not a thing anymore cause most new projects relies on the exchange and using IEO and doesnt even need a famous one to shill their project. Remember how Mcafee becomes a shit talker before? But he seems to earned a lot by these projects he said he help gained popularity but mostly all of them are dead now.

In crypto space I have seen market reacts to Winklevoss brother's tweets and press statements many times. When Elon Musk cleared about the rumor of he is Mr.Satoshi, BCH faced sudden downfall. Mouth of word from famous people is always have more power and this crypto space is no exception as per many past events.

Positive thoughts about  anything can bring positive vibe . When its a matter of trading in crypto market you have to learn more and do your research / analysis. We cann;t say / explain what comes next . People already learned their part of lessons well. Just a rare hype or fudding talk will not make crypto a better place for long term invest . But exception are everywhere to stay .

When we say mouth works wonders, i think it is abit exaggerated.
Let us just say that A great marketing strategy works wonders in the crypto currency space.

And this is one reason why binance triumphs alot because of its marketing prowess.
You can then relate marketing prowess to hypes, good community and reliable product.
