this is still effective. it is still working in the Forex market where the president of china or the U.S.A makes a bold statement about finance and watch how it plays in the Forex market. same is applicable in the crypto world. when people like elon mosk and Justin sun make mouth on some crypto projects, the market always changes.

Gone are those days where some well known person will talk about a coin or even advice people to hold and the price will shot for the sky, this things to work anymore in crypto space today, the last time I witnessed such was in 2018

Sorry to say i don;t believe this. what the op said is still effective. people Like C.Z still has a huge contribution on how the crypto market moves. some people control the whales in the market that their hype on some certain project changes the market positively.
One of the rules for crypto traders is to follow the news but don't trade the news.

I  agree with you that when some of the big people in crypto speak about the happenings around crypto it usually trigger most of the crypto enthusiasts to keep having courage of continuity. However, the case may not be the same for now owing to the rate at which things are going down gradually with crypto. A lot of crypto investors are getting worried and afraid of how the market is continuously being dragged down of which the time of rising can not be predicted by anyone. Hence,it is not only about saying it with mouth again but seeing the result is what people are all after.

When i mean mouth work wonders in the crypto space, i mean we have selected few crypto leaders, or ceos whose word are held in high regard and can definitely push up the price of certain altcoins if mentioned.

It also applies to project that can be bullish with their words and products, it generates a natural hype that can push up prices of any altcoins in the crypto sphere.

Do you think the same ? or have examples of such ceos or influencers whose words hodl great volume ?
Lol you’re funny, I’m surprised that someone still think this happens this time around. If that was possible and still happening, I guess one influencer will just invest in an altcoin and come out any day to say something about the altcoin and cause the price to pump. Sorry that doesn’t happen again, I don’t even know if that ever happened, I don’t believe that.

Since 2018 after the last bull run, I have seen a lot of influencers that kept making speculations about coins like Ethereum and Bitcoin, I was expecting the price to go up since they have said something about it, instead the price kept falling and even crashed hands down.

Haven't seen such effect these days anymore, the big names in crypto are now even afraid to come out to say something. I haven't heard anything from them anymore like Musk and Draper. Some supported a coin but if you look at the coins they've been supporting, its also crashing. There isn't any coins that can survive this bear. Looking at their pages in coinmarketcap, they were already delisted in all the exchanges and Mcafee still in face palm.
Elon Musk? It's been a while since I heard from that guy when he mentioned something about Tesla cars. Did Musk supported Bitcoin before? I think I kinda missed a thread of his quotes here before. No matter what coins we can think of is pretty much going down right now.
I even remembered Mcafee's dare that he posted in Twitter. Man it's been also a while since I heard from his words to Bitcoin though.

Mouth working wonders was some years back,it prifitted some people and many also lossed, I really don't think it works in this era, people have learnt not to take everything that comes out from the mouth of the assumed professionals, they do their own research now. Know who you are listening to.

Back in 2017-18 many people rely on crypto influencers to make their investment decisions, people like John McAfee was one of such people, but from the way things are right now, i think people are more confident to make their own choices and decisions, because in most cases, this influences can also be wrong about a coin and people can lose money as a result,
Crypto influncers are still out there but they are not as strong as what they use to be, i guess things have really changed.

I think at this time people are more cautious, maybe if we go back in 2017 where the bull run happened, its easy to pump the market especially if the influenced people are talking, for example, John McAfee, he was so popular during those times where he can use his popularity to pump or to shill coins, but now his reputation is very bad, why ? because people learn from their mistakes and they won't make the same mistakes again.

Until now, I don't think anyone can really have a significant influence. The crypto market is really dynamic and difficult to predict, all just speculation, "could be coincidental" right and vice versa. After all, most influencers do promotions with specific goals, paid promoters, you name it. So I prefer to discuss with my friends who are more experienced in the crypto world, rather than following influencers or other signals, or at least only used as a reference only, not as a final decision.

I will equate mouth = hypes in crypto currency because i think they relate.

Any project in the crypto space, that do not drive a conversation out from basic ethusiast or professionals will find it hard to thrive and survive, which is why in crypto currency, you must be able to hype your products to respective and probable investors.

You can onluy hype, if you can use your mouth to work the wonder, don't you think so equally ?

Well yeah that's what they call marketing when they have some sort of business associated with it and a pure scam when there is nothing but mouthing of and making money just by creating hype. It just not only exists in crypto but you can find it in every industry and every city in the world.

of course. Vitalik Buterin is the first who comes to my mind. everything that the Vitalik will say about ETH will have a strong impact on the project. The community of this project is very responsive to his words. CZ is also one of the most influential figures in this market.

Thats a wrong practice right. Influential or not we must seen the development through works and not by mouths. This is what I hate about fundamentals, since its bypass the technicality criteria to check if the project is really worth or not.

Just because Vitalik says, something good eth would move same with CZ, it seems like traders and users depends already words of these people. Traders are now changinf instead reviewing charts they waiting for a tweet that will decide either market would go down or up.

I Think its the day when people are new to digital money that they are easily believed , this people say since they are known to digital world, i am also a person who get caught in the situation luckily i get profit and when i sense that something is wrong i pull my investment and left few of my profit just in case, today is a different story since we already know how crypto can turn you millionaire or bankrupt in a matter of minutes, we guard and make sure of our moves, but sometimes some of this people are telling the truth, so its just luck for us to find a good one

Influencers greatlt affect how bullish it is. If you would noticed most projects have hired some advisors and they used their expertise or experience to be accounted on their project. Yes many of previous ICOs are doing this, and even IEO projects, but better for a project to showcase also what they have and not just using mouth words that arent effective for people who are looking for a real platforms.

Pumps can happen from the words out of two lips and this has been proven by the famous advisors during the ICO craziness. The advisors prefer to promote the project in their social circles and the followers are bombed with the paid shillings. Sad but true, unfortunately.

its happen before but i dont think this things will work again in the current market we have right now.
Every single words from popular crypto influencer they listen and that's happen only in bullish market way back 2017-2018  .

Those influencer reputation now has been damage  and no one believe in them in terms of crypto currency investing.

there are also many project that he became advisor and it help those project to be successful but in the end this give also negative impact to ethereum price until now.

now people are smarter, if investing only with hype and listening to the richest or famous people around crypto are no longer effective in the user community, now people are more concerned with project quality over quantity.

Whenever I hear or read about hypes in cryptocurrency my mind goes to that scam coin Floyd Mayweather promoted a few years ago. I think it was called Centra. I bought a few units which turned worthless in my hand. After that incidence I learnt my lessons and have since moved on. Now I treat hypes the same way as advertisement, nothing more. I don't care who is hyping the token/coin, if it doesn't meet a use case criteria I am not buying.

Those influencers are gone they are not effective any more people are smarter now they do their own research no need to listen to these influencers that only care about money promoting scam coins as long as they earned money. Last time I know its only 2017 when there is bullrun they abuse the situation creating some fake hype of a certain project and where are they now? Gone.
Investors have become wiser today and they do not just rely on other people's predictions but make their own thorough research about the coins they want to invest. Gone are those days where some great people can make big changes in the crypto market. The only thing that can give influence to the market right now are those positive and negative news which can dump or pump the market price or sometimes simply because of its high volatility that results into price fluctuations.

The downtrend perculiar to the prices of cryptocurrency since early 2018 really shut down high profile traders, investors and the so called influencers in the crypto space.  The likes of john McAfee and Ian Balina lost their relevance when cryptocurrency ico's started failing due to lots of scam projects that emerges then. Gone are the days when shilling of project with just a common tweet do change the story of a project.....  However, i believe people still exist that any innovative annnoucement or partnerships from them do brought about a price surge to their tokens.
