I just watched 'mr. nobody' last night.

A few cheesy cgi moments and some lost potential on the script, but overall the movie was excellent.

7/10, would recommend.

I saw that a while back and remember it being pretty good.   It is super long though right?

It's not that long. 140 minutes.

I've only seen it once but thought it was great. I need to watch it again, but I don't remember the cgi being cheesy.

I am watching it atm, I am half way through and it is great! It makes me think of The Butterfly Effect, an excellent movie as well or Man on the Moon

Is this a Russian movie? Never heard of this before.

No, it's in English but by a Belgian director and the cast is multi-national.

If you liked the butterfly effect and man on the moon you will like this movie as well

It's realistic science fiction, the character is in a different time period and place each scene

The Intouchables. French comedy-drama film inspired by the true story. One of my favorite.

I like Wolf of Wall Street.  Smiley

Too much profanity and total nudity in the movie actually distracts me from the way the story intends to go. I can't seem to get past it and lose interest. Such a waste to destroy what could have been a really good film otherwise.

Some profanity but not that much nudity as far as I remember, I wasn't shocked by it anyway; I knew I was going to see some profanity so I wasn't surprised

I liked the movie very much, it is very close to the book; I liked both books from Jordan Belfort; you can see Jordan Belfort playing at the end of the movie

In order to understand Machete one has to understand the countless side-kicks the movie does on a whole array of other movies or even computer games.
(after all it's the first recorded movie to re-enact the original Quake 1 Rocket-jump Cheesy )

Watched "Machette" and "Machette Kills". I wonder how a movie can survive with such A-Grade star cast (apart from the main character) and a B-Grade storyline & direction. It was funny at best but you can enjoy them if you like Silvester Stallone movies and Kill Bill I guess...

I thought Machete was pretty entertaining. Haven't seen the sequel yet.

I've seen the film Buried a couple of times now and think that it's a great concept for a movie.

About 18 months ago I saw another film that was quite similar to buried in that the main character was trapped inside a box, but instead of being buried he was in the back of a vehicle. I don't want to say anymore on the plot as that would likely spoil it (once we know the film), but I was wondering if anybody knows the name of the film I'm describing?

I always recommend it to friends but always forget what the name of the damn movie is haha.

Any ideas?

Brake with Stephen Dorff? I quite like films where they're trapped in one location, but they vary rarely hold up on repeat viewings.

Brake that's the one, yeah. True, I only watched Buried again because I wanted to show some friends. Was quite good as I picked up on a couple of things that I didn't notice in the first viewing, plus I got their perspective on what they thought of the concept.

What did you not notice on the first viewing? That he was trapped in a box? haha. There's a new film out called Freezer and the dude gets locked in - you guessed it - a Freezer haha.

Haha yeah, I thought that was was trapped in a case, not a box...

Rob Schneider is trapped in a freezer, only this time he's about to find out that being trapped like a fool ain't so cool. Rob Schneider stars in; Freezer! Rated PG-13.

Just downloaded Open Grave. It's got the fockin prawns guy from Distinct 9 in. Looks interesting: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2071550/

So I watched this last night. Was shit. I thought the guy was gonna be stuck in the mass grave for the entire film but he gets out within a few minutes. Probably would've been a better film if he stayed in it.

Watched "12 Years a Slave" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" last week. Kinda liked them both. Leonardo is good in Wolf but I think it is only fair that he didn't get the Oscar. I expected better from him, he was much better in "The Aviator". Will have to watch "Dallas Buyer's Club" to see the Oscar-winning performance now Smiley

Leo's performance was enjoyable, but not an award winning one at all. I think Jonah's was better.

I have seen all of the above movies...  12 years a slave is the only one that I didn't think lived up to the hype.   I don't wanna seem out of line, but basically any well made movie that deals with race issues is going to be "critically acclaimed."   Then add Brad Pitt as an executive producer, and your film is in a win win situation.   Imagine if Quinton Terrantino made a film about something like the Holocaust.   Not to be insensitive, but it would be up for picture of year...for sure...

I doubt if Tarrantino made a film about the holocaust it would be critically acclaimed in the way 12 Years was. He did make Django Unchained remember.

Yes...that was a pretty good movie...but you see all the the buzz that was surrounding it because of the racial undertones?...and the name that was attached to it?   Django was won more than one Academy Award if I remember correctly.   I can remember supporting actor for sure, but I think there were a few others...

Yeah, but not for best picture. The 'buzz' was probably only because of Tarrantino's name as all his films are. It received lots of criticism and controversy for its depiction of slavery, not critical acclaim for it.
