It's because after waiting long time to validate your bank acount, they write you that you are allowed for withdrawal > 1000€ BUT before you have to ask for it and wait a week more !!!
It's why before the 2013/05/07 it's was not possible to ask more than 1000€
in reality without their slow procedure these withdrawal can be started from april.
I agree with your argument, but in my point of view i doesn't understand why their software doesn't automatically agregate these withdrawal ?

People get nervous. Fear and concern is spreading like a flu.

If Gox really can only transfer 1 million per week, then it will take months before most people will have their money back. In the recent months 30 million a month flowed to Gox. So Gox needs about 6 weeks to unwind one of these month. We talk about the months of February, March and April. The trading volume is now back to the level of January but the whole money is still on Gox. It will take until September before everyone has his money. As a result people get unsettled.

Except for several people reporting in this and other threads.  Plenty people are getting their wires, and don't make fuss about it, while other people make a lot of noise about their delayed $100 wires in various troll froums like this.

well i'm not saying that, i'm just saying everyone doesn't do the effort of browsing these forums
some people are just content with what mtgox support is saying to them (that they have a backlog) and reading the frontpage news
plus there are those who just lurk without posting

yup, I didnt even factor in new fees at another exchange. will be around $1k for me too. That is is I can get them on support again to release my funds.

^I hear you, it's expensive to deal with these fees but I've it up to here.

Tired of having fiat that can't be moved via wire, I finally converted everything to btc's and sent them to Coinbase. 
The difference in exchange rates + fees from MtG/CB will cost well over a thousand in US dollars for this transaction, but rather
than wait another Two Weeks™ (this gets thrown around a lot) since the beginning of June, the premium will be worth it to my sanity.

Totally outrageous. Going to cost me ~US$450 in commission to keep converting this stuff around to try and exit. Wait another 2 weeks?... FFS!

With service like this I don't know why anyone is still using mtGox. With bitstamp, my deposits and withdrawals by international wire have taken AT MOST 72 hours.

you blamed the hiatus on USD transactions as causing this delay, though the Official statement from MtGox says that ONLY USD transactions were affected, and other currencies were processed as usual.

The fact that problems are reported with currencies like AUD is a lot more worrying than USD withdrawals drying up. At least the reason for the USD problems are known. But why they can't send AUD is a total mystery.

The answer is to cancel the transfer, buy coins and shift them to a local site in Australia to sell for AUD.

So I have been waiting 20 days now for 3 separate international wire withdrawals to be processed. I have a ticket open with support and at first told a week to process (AUD), then after a week told 2 weeks and now the ticket is not being responded to at all.

 I'm really getting concerned here waiting for my $$ to land :/ Am I ever going to see real money back? Anyone getting any $ out of MtGox recently?

I am not defending MtGox but how can multiple withdrawals like this achieve anything but clog up their admin system, and cost you more?
Why not combine withdrawals, even if you are on-forwarding amounts to others then do that via internet banking afterwards.
