Yes but unfortunately I am no longer local to you. My farm and I now reside in Michigan. I appreciate the offer though. I did not attempt to run all 10 miners yet. I only got halfway through unpacking/swapping miners before I realized that it was every single one with the problem. I do have another video call with Canaan techs tonight so I will post updates as they happen. It’s currently being powered by usb 3.0 directly connected to my server. I do have a samsung 5v 1amp spare power brick that I can use if you think the server isn’t supplying enough power. The server itself resides on a platinum 1000w ps running maybe 30% load.

When the controller is powered on the GUI is there and I can get into every submenu and make changes. It shows no active connections in its live monitoring and zero speed for fans and hashing. Canaan had me try one by one yesterday on the controller and even had me attempt to power on the miners with no wires connected (except the power supply) all attempts yielded the same result. No signs of life. No way to actually get into them. I was given four auc’s for room for growth after my next purchase after Chinese New Year when their next models are released.

Canaan supplied everything this go around. The miners, the psus, the controller, the four auc’s and all the cabling for each.

Okay  where are you located? usa?

I have

a working power brick
 a working rasp pi
 a working 5 pin cable
 a working auc
 a working a921

it is at the new build out

I could test your

power brick
rasp pi
5 pin cable
auc
usb cord

this fri or monday as I am driving to the build out to add some m10's

if not  lets see what else we can do here.

what is the power brick you use for the rasp pi?

did you try each of the 4 usb ports on the raps pi.

do you get any connect with the a921's

I get you see the  rasp pi
I assume it does not show the a921's

All four aucs dead though?

Could happen but unlikely. I remember a few going out that way with 741's and 8 series I think. I haven't heard of any in a while that went out as duds.

Sorry if I missed it.

When the controller is powered on, are you able to login and see the GUI?

I read this as you have 10 of the miners set up.

Did you have them on 2 separate Auc's 5 each? Have you gone back and tried them individually maybe starting at 1 miner and trying different auc/4pin cables?

None work, the firmware was installed by the Canaan team via teamviewer. I do not recall which version they installed but I will check when I go back to the farm later today.
A thought - did Canaan supply the USB-A to micro USB cable? If not, a very common issue with supplying your own is that many such cables are ONLY for charging and do not support data transfer because all 4 wires in them are used for power. Try using a known good data/charging cable.

Do other 921's on the same controller work? If none work on the controller could be that the controller has not been loaded with the correct firmware. A921 RasPi software is here

I landed ten including their power supplies direct from Canaan during their flash sale. They arrived yesterday. Opened five up, removed 2 dragon mints and 3 s9s and replaced them with the 921s and their corresponding psus , no life. Tried 250v power, 220v power and 220v power through a pdu. Controller and auc’s light up, but no one is home on the 921s. Power supplies power on and blow air as they should. Last step will be trying my bitmain, halong, and hp power supplies. Canaan has been more than helpful though via video calls on WeChat and remotely logging in via team viewer. It could be possible these were shipped with no firmware as my controller did not have firmware installed either.

Well i've tried so far both MM and Controller versions 01-03-19, appear to work, but miners randomly shut off and turn back on. Also they're not hashing anywhere near the 20th mark... I've also tried previous versions of the controller firmware no luck, just get connection refused with all of the others versions. Any suggestions? 4 hours so far trying to get the miners to do 20th... or something near that..

Dont bother.  Just use -1 setting and stop busting your own balls.

These simply are not that good.

I am pretty disappointed with them.

No one has them doing really good numbers.

I moved on. You should set -1 and look into other gear.

How long you have on that UPS on power loss? Love the fan speed on the 741 too...

In all cases power & speed checks were done after at least 6 hours of running to make sure the miners were up to full speed and Kanopool would reflect that. The 921 voltage-level -1 and -2 tests ran for 2 days each. For now at least I'm keeping the 921 at voltage-level -1.

The 741 and 841's data is after them running for months.

Feel like I'm on philips boat here, 921 doesn't seem to compete in th/w. They are obviously well built products with a good reputation.

Well... just so happens I've been running tests on the miners I have at home...
For completeness this also has settings/results for my A741 TV room heater as well as the A841's I have running downstairs next to one of the 3x 921's I just got... Only thing left to do is plug in the J/THs values

Code:
File date: 1/10/2019
Conditions:
A741 is an upstairs space heater using 120VAC
A841's and 921 are in basement ambient temp 74-76F
A841/921 power source is Tripp*Lite SU6000RT4UHV—6kVA dual-conversion (always on) UPS, all power data comes from it
Voltage output is set to 60Hz and 230VAC +/-0.5%
A841 PSU's are 1.8kw Sorcerers
A921 PSU is Blokforge 2.0kw PSU

Thanks Fuzzy, I have 2 A921s on each controller and I'm trying the different versions of the Avalon921 firmware for OpenWrt and MM.  The latest I can get to work on any of these is Avalon921 OpenWrt 20181011 and Avalon921 MM 2018-09-26.  When I try OpenWrt 20190103 and MM 2019-01-03 they just sit there with the "Socket connect failed => Connection refused" error in the API Log.  I can't get anywhere with the 2019 versions.

They work fine with OpenWrt 20181011 and MM 2018-09-26...I'm just trying to get the power use down below 1900W each
which is the best I can get using these firmware versions and the settings that frodocooper and phil recommended.

Yeah this is been disappointing so far.  It did get a few runs around 1875 watts  and 19750 hash but not every time.

^^ You do know that just like the A721/741 and 821/841 use their own software versions the 921 needs to be ran on a Pi using 921 software (OpenWrt) and you cannot mix models on 1 controller? Avalon 921 software here

I did also.  I'm also wondering if it was an issue by having the 921s paired up instead of single?  Something else I need to work out.

I guess it doesn't matter which is upgraded first since I did the miners first and latest firmware didn't work after upgrading controller. Mine are also chained and on dedicated 921 controller. Firmware did upgrade on miners and controller, just bricked them to where they no longer showed in OpenWrt. Prior to upgrading controller, they still showed in OpenWrt but kept rebooting with older controller firmware and latest miner firmware. Seems to be a firmware issue because I can revert back to previous versions fine. I'm leaving them alone until they hopefully release low power firmware.

..and also the rpi needs 2.5v charger......

Rasp Pi needs a 5 VDC,  2.5 A  'wall wart' power supply.
