This comparison applies to all products that have a price that fluctuates so sharply.
If you sold your savings thinking that it was the right time for that, then you will necessarily discover one day that you were wrong to some extent because the price of reliable products will continue to rise as long as users trust them. Of course, it is generally considered profitable as long as the purchase price is very low compared to the selling price.
But if you had to sell your savings as a result of urgent conditions, then you are not to be blamed, and this is the activity for which we want to save and invest.

If I am given a chance to go back to 2020 I would hold my ETH very tight and never let go, when covid was hitting the world at its best I thought it over and I sold 24 ETH which I bought at 120$ each, I never knew I was so damn lucky to buy at that price, learn to hold tight if you believe in a project, there are countless of projects in past years that are way bigger in value right now.
I have the same experience as you during the start of pandemic. I sold all my ethereum for the price of $230  not knowing that it will sky rocket not just doubled the price. But we have nothing to do about the past but to forget and just let it be an experience then keep on moving forward for another good coin to invest then if you can hold, much better. Market is really unpredictable!

Some part of us will really regret about it especially when we see how big the amount we can get if we continue to hold those coins but as said we can revert what happen from the past and let those things a learning experience. We can still say that we are in early phase on crypto and good changes still might happen in future also that means possibly more pumps will came if people don't want such things to happen again they should act accord to how the market moves right now.

Why 2020 why not 2010 when Bitcoin is just making headlines, we all have this kind of wish even Hodlers and long time investors
but even a coin have all the signs of a potential we still sell them for early profit not taking a chance to HODL longer it is because of the volatility of the market, coins are vulnerable to crash dumps and pumps it's hard to make a decision when you on this roller coaster ride.
There is no need to regret it, all coins which have proven themselves in the market can still go down and it's an open opportunity for us to take, and always look for a new coin to invest in with future potential in the market.

There are times when we have to keep looking forward, don't keep fantasizing about the past because time will go on, you won't be able to turn back time and change it back to that time.
everyone has experienced mistakes and our mistakes are not holding the coins we have in the past, so what will be our barrier now? Rather, it is an experience because we have made mistakes at that time, lest the same mistakes be repeated now.
while you can, then now use the opportunity to save assets lest you regret but do nothing
These incidents can also be connected with fate, because some sell it on need whereas majority sell on fearing the market fluctuation. Myself experienced a big loss during the pandemic, but that happened out of gambling. I bought bitcoin to gamble, and lost everything. Same time if I've bought ethereum by that time and kept hold for a week's time I could've made more than $15k profit. As said everything is a learning out of mistakes.

It's a common mistake by a lot to be honest, while we cannot blame some of them due to some being a legitimate newbies. They did not expect the price to peak at that point and just went full money into the coin that they were eyeing on.

I made the same mistake when I was still a newbie like in 2017 when Bitcoin peaked at 20k that time.

Most of the users here are regretting not buying at the lowest price of a coin but do you really know at that time that it really is the lowest price of that coin? And Vice-versa...

It is much worse to buy a coin at the maximum price and then wait for years for the price to return to its previous values or sell it at a loss. So, it is better to sell the coin, as OP did and make a profit, than to sell your coins at the lowest price, while losing your deposit.

If people buy more than the maximum price then they are hit by FOMO which eventually buys and holds it with higher expectations after a few years but in the end it becomes a big loss, what I said that I have experienced and of course it is a regret that should not be happen again.
By selling coins that don't need big profits I think it's enough as long as we have set the percentage we set, but they are always ambitious and lose for bigger losses even this often happens.

regretting something that has happened is not good because it can get you stuck in a cycle of regret.
from that incident you can take a lesson that the price of ETH will continue to increase, and what you have to do now so that regret does not happen again is to buy as much ETH as possible for long-term investments. currently the price of ETH is around $3200 and it is very likely that on the next bull run the price of ETH will touch $10k. be prepared so you won't regret it again!

If you can be patient, there will be very satisfying results. Surviving is not easy, because in everyday life there are needs that we must fulfill. However, before investing in a project, we must be able to make our finances stable. Do not let us face the risk of loss, we cannot survive when the market is down. Whatever happens, stick with it, because the project we choose has a very good chance.

In investing we must rely on an attitude that is ready to face any situation even though the coins we hold are currently in decline so never panic to sell when we are experiencing losses, such as the coins you hold and it is a coin that has the potential to continue to grow in the future because every bitcoin ethereum rises as long as it can follow, Then never regret what you are doing now, in the future there must be a change.
What we need to know is that everyone's psychology is different. and the way people deal with stress is also different. a good asset does not necessarily follow the trend that bitcoin will build.
no need to regret selling assets that we have already sold and then experiencing a pump. trust me it will be replaced with profit at another asset moment. I have experienced this several times, panicked when selling altcoin assets. even though I lost at the beginning but I can buy it again when it reaches the bottom. when the pump happens, we'll get it all back.

In your case its Ethereum. Do you really know that it already was the highest price of Ethereum at time? Of course no one knows that is why you need to trust the project if you really want to gain high profits. Many here are investing into Bitcoin because they trust it and they can hold it for many years.

As for me, I don't have any regrets when it comes to crypto. I used Bitcoin to buy my first computer set in 2019. How much is Bitcoin at that time? Did I regret doing it? Not at all because I don't know that Bitcoin will shoot up in the succeeding years.

I have known crypto since 2014 and in 2015 I was actively collecting  crypto for free, and in last 2015 I had around 280 ETH, 400 ETC, and about 100k DOGE which I got from faucets, cloud mining and many give away programs, at that price ETH but I was impatient and sold all coins and just collect around $420 in march 2016, and this is my biggest regret.
wow 280 ETH that's really a lot of numbers, I'm really surprised by what you said,
of course it's a bad experience if you sell the 280 ETH you got, I also had 50 ETH in my wallet,
but sadly my ETH sold out when ETH was at $200, and now I really regret it

Maybe this opportunity will come back if the coin price dumps again at a high level. But if this really happened would anyone still dare to hold their coins? Certainly not. Many people will complain if this condition occurs. Even if the price of ETH drops, the price will not be below 1k.
Now the decline and increase in prices always occurs only for a while without running for a long time in the market and the only ones that survive this pump and dump condition are coins that already have strong fundamentals.
Examples such as ETH and a very common thing to happen when a decline occurs is to sell existing coins before they all drop to their lowest point before buying back at a certain time.

It's really what you have to cope with in this market, because sometimes it will Happen to you in as much as you are only predicting and hoping. No one really knows what the future holds. One thing is that you can just leave a little piece behind. I also do have my own regrets but I don't look back at them. I move on.

Well it was still the beginning of COVID era and I won't blame you for that to be honest as everyone is in need of money already and the economy is badly affected by it.
I sold some of my Bitcoins at that time as I needed some money to buy my needs before the lockdown, but I still held some that were still alive and kicking until this day.
I am pretty sure you really need to have some money at that time and you would value your needs over your wealth at that moment.
