Mine for a Bit
I am converting all of my rigs back over to ETH.  Nice run of the ZEC!

Are all the CPUs in your rigs pentimums if you have better CPUs you can mine Zec with them and eth with the gpus

All of my cpus are basic 1840.  That is a great Idea though!  Thanks!

Hey Phil,  I just want to thank you for this forum.  I have learned so much with your wisdom and the inputs from the people on this forum.  Again, Thanks!

your cpu socket is 1150 this is your current cpu

http://ark.intel.com/products/80800/Intel-Celeron-Processor-G1840-2M-Cache-2_80-GHz

you could sub just 1 with this cpu
just for shits and giggles  you could put one like this in:

http://ark.intel.com/products/78927/Intel-Core-i5-4460T-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-2_70-GHz

129 from a good ebay seller

http://www.ebay.com/itm/112191783963

Very intriguing.  CPU Cost $130.
Assumption:  1 CPU = 1 GPU in hashing power

I was making about $60.00 in ZEC with 24 GPUs yesterday.

60/24 = $2.50 per day with the new processor
ROI = $130 / $2.50 = 52 days

Question is: Will ZEC be around for 52 days?Huh

I am going to CHANCE it and invest in the processor and ZEC with it.  haha

Again, Thanks Phil for the options.

Can one use Claymore to mine ZEC via GPU and CPU at the same time?

Not sure.  I do claymore and zcash.

That works.

I think I phrased that poorly...

I want to use Claymore to mine zcash on my GPUs. Claymore does not support CPU zcash mining as far as I can tell. Can you use a different program to mine zcash on the CPU?

yes I pointed it out a few posts back on page 49  note the zcash.flypool link     that is what I meant when I wrote zcash

I understood you  but was on my iPad  which I hate  for adding links I am now on my mac mini thus links for you

http://zcash.flypool.org/

Download, configure and run our modified nicehash CPU miner

Download: Github
Choose from the following stratum servers:

Europe: eu1-zcash.flypool.org:3333
US: us1-zcash.flypool.org:3333
China: cn1-zcash.flypool.org:3333
Asia: asia1-zcash.flypool.org:3333
Start your miner using the following command. User your Zcash address as username (can be a t or z address)

nheqminer.exe -l -u
.
Full examples

nheqminer.exe -u  t1d81R73LY4tX9y1VskH6gJELH3PfCvGwz5.rig1  -l us1-zcash.flypool.org:3333 -t 3

-t 3  is an addon if you have 3 threads
-t  6 is an addon if you have 6 threads

note  I believe you should try  -t 2 ,  - t 3  , -t 4  if you have a quad core

and -t 4 , -t 5 ,-t 6 ,-t 7, - t 8 if you have an i7  quad that hyperthreads

my results vary  depends on mobo and cpu

I follow you now, thanks!

Profitability seems to match Eth now

With the current block reward it will.
Maybe once the full block reward is given we will see a stable number hopefully it will be profitable
I think .5 btc will be the stable number.

I doubt it will even be worth that much, it will probably be lucky to be worth $100

idk it seems better to mine eth/etc now being that its the same profit and if you don't sell the coins everyday then you wont lose money.

I've tried to download it from zcash - my NO32 found potentially harmful code and deleted it

So beware of viruses

If I remember correctly, 1 hash = 2 sols, so his numbers might sound correct in Sols/s, with 16 and about 40.

1 H/s = 1 Sol/s

My I5 only push like 8h but my I7 at job pulls 18h-20h Tongue

what model numbers and speeds are the cpus? my i5 3570k @4.4 ghz pulls a bit over 19 sol/s. on zec with nicehash miner. seems your numbers are low.

or are you talking about another coin youre mining?

Profitability seems to match Eth now

The ZCash is still 100% more profitable to mine than the Ethereum. But if the price drops more, they will be even.

It looks like you are very wrong with this statement Smiley

Yes  and that is good.

it still has an edge on eth in cpu mining.

two even coins is good.   remember  eth really  gained  a lot on this  the diff dropped 20%.

AMD, Nvidia and Intel  have to be jumping up and down for joy.

As a long time miner of cryptocoins I am quite happy at the moment.

I have not broken it down  but at the moment  I point to both.

I have a lot of cpus        and 4 gpus    pointed at zcash, about 307 H/s.  make that 260H/s

I have no cpus        and 15 gpus  pointed at eth.   about 323 MH/s

Eth profitablity has increased a lot due to lower diff.  I do not mind the above split.  And I can shift it all or some in under 20 minutes.
