Someone else made the offer to donate. He didn't solicit it.

That's the trick.

I would not expect anyone else to bail out my screw ups but we're all special in our own way.

Hello
Thanks for the feedback. Lots of good news as always when beimg scammed. Its cool that people are like this. I could never do something like that to soneone else. Our oldest daughter had ewing sarcoma. She is in remission and has been for almost 3 year now. Which is so amazing for my wife and I. Anyway even though she's in remission she still gets scans and she broke her ankle. That's the current situation. The cancer destroyed her nerves in her back that directly affect sensory in the lower left leg. So she broke 3 bones in her ankle and didnt even feel it. 2 months ago she had  scans. All in all its still financially hard for us but were so thankful for her still being her with us. That's why I wanted to try the bitcoin thing. Only 2000 dollars though. I knew that if I let it alone it could really help at some point in time financially. I didnt know it would end like this losing 8000 dollars and I almost went for 11000 becasue I really screwed up amd my wife is going to be upset. I really failed the with our money. But life will go on and great things are yet to come. Never a dull moment. We have 4 kids. One is our adopted niece. Drugs get the best of the best people. Anyway that being said I tell this guy all this info, show him the medical bill from the scan (2950) and he's still trying to scam money from me. What a nice guy. He should be nominated for the electric chair. Better yet can someone hold him for me. I have bank account number and ID from him if anyone knows how to hack into the account and get my money. We can split it. . Again thank you all for saving me 3000 more dollars.
I would also like to thank mycelium ffor all of their efforts. The real mycelium never contacted one time regarding this even though I tried to ask for support multiple times. And they allow people like those I mentioned on there to freely scam others.

[…] If Qazwsxedc123 wants to post a btc address I would make a modest contribution, and I hope a few others would too.

That would be really really cool. 1PP1kz4mw7TeFFWzRTiKCMwnmfGSHX3GfD

Is it only me who finds the story fishy? I cannot discern whether it is true or whether this is an elaborate emotion-phishing scam. My judgment leans toward the latter.

I sent about enough to buy lunch.
I might not make much difference financially, but at least you know somebody cares a little bit.
Here's wishing you good luck.

Millionero yes you did. And thank you very much. Although funny I really do appreciate it.

Any help or ideas please?

Unfortunately you've been scammed. Mycelium never acts as an escrow like Localbitcoins. The only thing the wallet guarantees is that people posting ads have the BTC balance they're advertising. Everything else is between two individuals. There are no quotas and anyone would be lucky to ever hear from Mycelium support regarding anything.

Report it to your local police with all the details and there's not much else you can do.

*This looks exactly like there email from support. Any way to tell the difference? *
Emails are ridiculously easy to fake... To really tell the difference, rather than just looking at the "FROM" and subject lines etc, you need to dig into the email headers and find where the email has really come from.

Also they still are in contaxt with me. If this was a scam why continue to converse with me?
Because you have already proven that you're willing to send more money at least twice... they are probably hoping they'll be able to scam even more money from you before you figure it out.

This is 100% a scam. Undecided

Mycelium's Marketplace is meant for one-on-one transactions where you sit next to the trading partner.

A few hints:

  • Arrange a meeting in a restaurant and sit somewhere in the back, not next to the door, to reduce the risk of a scammer running away. To increase your security, ask a friend to act as your bodyguard. Tell him to follow you in a short distance, so that nobody can see that you are together. Let him sit somewhere between you and the exit door.
  • If you have cash in your pocket and want to buy bitcoins, do not describe yourself so the other person can find you. The person selling bitcoins should describe themselves, because they are not as much in danger of getting robbed at this time.
  • Do not carry more than one or two months' of your salary in cash. I would say, no more than $10,000 for a middle-class person.
  • If you carry a large amount of cash and something goes wrong with the communication, consider the risk of getting robbed as you walk away. For example, call a taxi and ask the taxi driver by phone to come in and escort you out.
  • If you buy bitcoins, wait for at least one block confirmation and at the very least for 95% transaction propagation. Mycelium shows the latter as a bar graph in the Marketplace. It shows the block confirmations on the transactions page. Familiarize yourself with these features of Mycelium before you trade in the street. Ideally do a mock trade for a near-zero amount with a friend who also has Mycelium.

Hello,

Probably not doing this right. Im new to the discussion and bitcoins in general. I have the mycelium app. I recently tried to trade coin with cash on the marketplace. Anyway people claiming to be with mycelium and are part of the support system are who I'm trading with. So to begin I traded 2000 for x amount of coin username Wash1. I deposited as instructed and he then said he could not release the coin because mycelium said he didnt meet the required qouta. Maybe true I dont know. He referred me to Support_Jeremy who claims to be mycelium support. They showed me emails and Identification. While this was going on I emailed mycelium support a few times and never received a response. So Jeremy took over wash1 account and we proceeded. He said the qouta was 5000. So I deposited 3000 more to reach the "quota" and receive what we traded for. They claimed the coin was in escrow and I would be paid or mycelium would take full responsibility for the trade not going as planned. Well it didn't and I never received anything. Jeremy said bank held the depo and I would beed to submit 3000 more and garunteed the exchange would go without issues this time. So after days and days of me beating my head against the wall I deposited the next 3000 to receive a total of 8000 in traded coin. Also received multiple emails from other mycelium support on the issue assurimg me that this time they would also oversee tge trade and wrote a contract and so on. So today I deposited the next 3000. Well.........they said the account is on hold again. And now I'm out 8000 dollars. (Side note...look people I know im a freaking idiot at this point. Its clear to see that. I thought that the secomd time I gave them more money but everythimg seemed to look real and the guys were really good.) So anyone have any ideas of what to do? Other than deposit more money. I have none left to give so I'm screwed. Good times. Amd please be aware of these people. Wash1.  Support_Jeremy.  Steve Gabriel. Stefan Andrei. They all claim to be high ups at mycelium and I have the emails and all the trade messages and contract id to prove that ive been screwed. Any help or ideas please?

Thank you sorry for the long post

Anyone having problems with Mycelium wallet today? It was working fine and for the last couple of hours I can't acess it. It's shuting down all the time, can't see the balance or anything else. All other applications on my mobile are working fine.
Any idea what is happening?

All good here. Haven't made any tx, but it's responsive, all seems smooth and not crashing. Are you running the latest version (2.11.1.17 for android)? Check for update if not.

I made update about week ago. That was actualy the first thought that crossed my mind but there were no new updates available.
Anyway, today is working normal and everything is fine, no problems at all. Still haven't figured out what was wrong yesterday but that was the first problem with Mycelium ever and I use it for two years now.

I've been fiddling on and off with it today. It's been absolutely fine for me throughout.

On a couple of occasions in the past it crapped out for a few hours but that was several months ago for me.

It would be nice if they had an Electrum-style choice of servers.

The SPV wallet update was supposed to be pushed a few months ago according toe Rassah but not sure what's the delay for.

Apparently, still no bech32 support so It's like they haven't done anything If you ask me. Samourai or Electrum remain the best options right now.
