So I tested mycelium and I did switched from blockchain.info. I am very pleased to have two HD wallets, electrum for cold storage and mycelium for my hot wallet.

I noticed some French labels not very well translated, so I will see tomorrow or next week if I could make a pull request.

Am I right in assuming that the fiat rates used in Mycelium Local Trader are only updated every 24 hours? Just saying, because the sudden change in CHF is not reflected right now.

This feature is great! For example, i can't even open blockchain.info's wallet if internet connection is down. I can't even show someone else my public address QR code!

@Rassah: is there any time estimate possible for iOS development catching up with android development? At the moment a lot of features (even basic ones like PIN) are missing.

Hi guys. Another post on the status of Entropy development. Tuesday (yesterday) we received word from the factory that the first batch of 1,000 pieces is done! The devices are now undergoing testing and flashing. There was some brief issue where the test firmware we gave the factory wasn't working for them, but Artur, one of our main Entropy hardware devs, got on it remotely and helped resolve the issue quickly. Testing and assembly (sticking them into cases) should be quick, and then we can finally start packaging and shipping. Sorry that this has been such a long and tedious ordeal, but it is finally coming to completion.

With regards to the Wallet, we are finalizing everything needed for full Tor support, and working on adding support for importing and exporting xpub and xpriv keys (HD wallet equivalent of bitcoin addresses and private keys). The later is in anticipation of getting Entropy to create HD seeds, which is also being finalized. There's also some support for certain hardware wallet users coming, who have been complaining about having to rely on their computer and a specific website just to get to their funds. No word yet on Rivetz with regards to their TrustZone API, but we're sure they'll be ready soon.

Also, this weekend we will be down in Miami for the North American Bitcoin Conference. We are flying in, instead of driving, so I won't be able to have my printer with me to demonstrate Entropy devices. By we I mean I, and Mycelium's CEO. He's flying in all the way from Vienna, so this could be your chance to meet the mysterious guy behind the company. Hopefully, we will also have something completely new, and something else very anticipated to show off while here, too, and maybe have more announcements as well. Come stop by and say hi!

Mycelium lets you create transactions while it is offline, and broadcasts them when it gets an internet connection. So it could still work with really spotty connections, just not instantly.

By the way, there are little devices called nano router or travel router or pocket router that can open Wi-Fi from a wired Internet connection. Prices are roughly around $20, and my current recommendation is the TP-LINK TL-WR710N 150Mbps Wireless N Mini Pocket Router, Repeater, Client, 2 LAN Ports, USB Port for Charging and Storage, see http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FRMAOIO . It doubles as an access point, a repeater (extender), and as a direct ISP router.

No, I don't work for the company, but I have one of those and like it. The little device is astoundingly capable.

Completely agree with your side note. I use electrum on a usb bootable linux for coldstorage and blockchain.info as hot storage. I like mycelium, but i don't switch because of the bad wireless network i have at work.

About the situation with "no network" connection but access to a wired connection, if you really need to you can export your private keys from you mycelium even when offline, so the funds are not completely unaccessible without wireless network.

Side note:
Having multiple wallets of different kinds is a must (imo).
Same as for fiat money, I do not know of anybody that has all the money located in one wallet all the time.
A typical scenario of everyday use is that you go travel, you take money from you safe, atm, etc. and put the money in your old school leather wallet.

I use mycelium on my android in a similar way, at home I use bitcoin-core, before I go travel I just transfer some funds to my android so I would be able to make transactions if I need to.

Mycelium is a phone only wallet. So if there is no wireless network, you can't use it. Blockchain is a web wallet, so you could use it on a computer if there is no wireless network and you get a wired network.

This is wrong. Go back to your yacht and test blockchain on your phone. We are waiting the result of your test.

When I'm on my yacht I don't have a computer and can't use blockchain but Mycelium works fine.

Where i work, my phone's connection is very very bad. I still could use blockchain because i have a computer. I can't use mycelium.

I have both the Blockchain.info wallet app and Mycelium installed on my Android phone for quite a while now.

Seriously, there is NO reason whatsoever why anyone would EVER prefer the blockchain.info app over Mycelium. Blockchain.info's app is still quite buggy, has a lot of shortcomings, while Mycelium nails it all.

I love the work of blockchain.info for Bitcoin, but imho their Android app is a disaster, and doesn't exactly help making Bitcoin more accessible to new folks.

in the next beta version 2.2 which is planned in january.
