Many tribes adopting Mazacoin is total fairytale.

Payu says himself he'll work with other tribes as go to coin guy, if they want their own currency.

It's much more appealing to other native indians to start their own coin and get free stash instead of adopting someone else's currency from which they didn't get squat. Get it? Payu will be there to help them launch their own currency but it won't be Mazacoin.

So expect many "mazacoins" from various tribes if this catches on, where each tribe can do their own pre-mine or hold their own stash reserve.

Surely, but Maza will always be the first giving it more value. It will also take a while to get others started. There is also the possibility that the Lakotas would be generous with MZC to smaller tribes to encourage them to adopt MZC instead of their own. . . . Oversaturation would be an issue that would cannibalize all the tribal coins, they'd be better off to encourage all North American Natives onto one currency. . .Of course that's a hard sell when the premine is dedicated just for Lakotas - something that could change especially if the price were to skyrocket.

They can't be generous with only 50 million total reserve. That's not even enough for themselves, a 5% of the total quantity, let alone to give out to others.

Seems like plenty to me, less than 5% as well I believe. It isn't all the 'treasury' the 'administration' will have. They will have to generate money to pay for officials etc all those things that don't produce anything in the physical world with tangible value etc. I would imagine an incredibly-fair-compared-to-US-and-bleeding-UK tax system.

But the FUD spreaders are saying it is not official in the sense of vote by council. I don't know what the council of the Lakota said or did about it or what role they had.

It isn't FUD, it is the truth.
It has been loudly claimed on this forum that it was an official currency of the tribe.
It isn't. That is the truth.
It does't mean that the coin is designed as a scam, or that it isn't hoped that the tribe might adopt it.
And we do know what the president of the council of the Lakota said about it.

We still don't know what the President of the U S of A has said about Bitcoin either  Wink

Indeed, but I'm sure they have reservations about bitcoin because it was wholy unknown (to them at least) before it got the attention it has now. The Government also missed out on buying up "gold" at $3 less each. The rest of the world had tonnes of it especially criminals, but as soon as they seized that 600,000 from silk road they suddenly went 'chill' about bitcoin. I only read senators asking for bans now not seen anything from the whitehouse in some time correct me if I'm wrong.
What are they going to say about a "commodity" that the impoverished native americans pluck out of thin air and sell to investors like me abroad... in effect sucking money into the US for free. True the government is restricted on what nasty things they can bend to their benefit in regards to contracts and agreements, but this is the 21st century and it is a progressive global mission to pull all humans out of poverty... like bitcoin if you listen to anything Andreas says.

Obama is a large supporter of native americans, at least what I've read.

I am new here.in my first post i thought this was a scam..I hadn't did my research!.

Since then i have and i have changed my mind..this is how i see it in simple terms

What Payu is trying to accomplish for ALL native americans is the same as what bitcoin is trying to do  for the world!.

We need to break the CHAINS around out necks and take the power back!

Payu and his team put a face behind the effort for his cause and i QUOTE

“I think cryptocurrencies could be the new buffalo,”

Standing on the banks of the Little Bighorn River last year, a son of the once-mighty Oglala Lakota Tribe made a promise to continue his ancestors’ fight against the United States. Only this time the war wouldn’t be fought with arrows or bullets, but with QR codes and cryptography.

“My family fought and died on this soil,” recalls Payu Harris , a Bitcoin developer and native activist. “Suddenly the story of Custer’s Last Stand wasn’t just words on a page but something deeply personal. I looked at how things were for the tribe now and suddenly had an idea about how we might fix it. We can’t continue to be 20 years behind the times, always trying to catch up. We have to be forward-thinking.”

If you are invested in Mazacoin quit thinking about it as a TRADE and the daily ups and downs

Think about it as a way to help the people that once roamed and hunted most of this Nation and never took from it more than they needed just to survive!

If you support the plight of impoverished natives, the safeguarding of the environment, the rise of crypto currencies AND you want to own a rising asset. Buy MZC, hold and wait.

Not sure if this report by the Wall Street Journal on MazaCoin made these pages  Wink

[Suspicious link removed]j.com/moneybeat/2014/03/07/lakota-indian-promotes-new-digital-currency-mazacoin/[/url]

Now it will make radio and TV news soon. That will be fun to watch.

I like the:

"CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post said mazacoin had been adopted as the Lakota currency. It has not been officially endorsed by the council."

Cheesy

also all the news articles are old now, nothing new coming....

-ready further above-

Target for this coin was between 0.25 - $1.
Can't wait for commercial involvement especially casinos.

Payu and co are probably working very hard right now.
